Absolutely 100pc wrong. He was way, way, way too far back. He was so far back that by the time he hit the brakes and moved into the apex the VW had enough time to begin his corner entry. What you are saying is that the VW should have taken a defensive line to defend his position, from that far back? That's absolutely nuts. It would mean we all lose every place we ever defend because going defensive that early means the following car just needs to take the racing line and pass on exit every time.

Way too far back, needs to at least have some over lap to execute an inside move like that.

10 laps with a night/day transition at one of the best tracks in the world ticks some boxes. Having to use the beetle to be able to be quick enough to compete doesn’t but I think it can still be a lot of fun.

Great! Beetle infestation again. What is the point in BOP when the same car over and over is the meta car? Surely they can adjust BOP every week to make different types of cars more dominant rather than just one car.

I'm not disappointed that it's flat out, but I agree some strategy would be nice.
I don't like fuel saving in daily races, but have both softs and meds available, with softs mandatory but wear high enough you can't do a full distance with them would be nice.

Yeah I love having strategies in races. Don’t get me wrong I do like the flat out sprint races, but like you say having fuel or tyre wear just makes it better. I’m not a fan fuel saving, but I dont mind refuelling as long as all cars have too.
Love to see some mix weather added to the daily races. I didn’t race Spa the other week in the Nations cup but it sounds like a lot of people enjoyed the mix conditions with the mix tyre strategies

Maybe they should just ditch the BOP altogether and give us 4 or 5 eligible cars to choose from. With a bit of testing I’m sure they could find 5 cars in that give similar lap times even if they aren’t the quickest from the whole group.

The Beetle is not the only competitive option. Try the Corvette or the DBR9.

I can’t play until tomorrow. I’d like to use one of the MR cars but BOP has messed them up. I did ok with the beetle at interlagos, I’ll likely be quickest in it. The Aston I don’t get on with at all. I haven’t used the vette in gt7 yet so may give it a shot. But I strongly suspect I’ll be quickest in the beetle. It’s got the best times for a reason I guess

MR’s are pretty tricky coming back down the hill, and typically slower going up. The FR’s used to always do well here, unless it was Gr.4 when the FF’s would be OP. Im curious to see what’s topping the top 10 after work today.
 
Either way... racing again exclusively for the WRX and this ugly beetle... just another stupid show... it was time for the update with the Atenza, which I also didn't like and the RCZ, at least beating some distances was much better. The game degenerates into a boring fair show.

Use bumper cam, you won’t even know which car your driving, so it won’t matter. It’s the only camera with a mirror anyways. I don’t know why people care so much which digital recreation of a car they drive so much? They’re all fake digital cars, the racing is what matters. 👍

Although or precisely because I am currently driving a Cupra (which is a rolling garbage can because of the software) I basically hate VW at the moment... In addition, the car drives just horribly for my taste.... maybe that's me just too stupid to move this car... although when i test it... i'm fast with it... but i just don't like how this thing behaves... and it sounds crappy to my ears too... of course it's all a matter of taste.. and you can't argue about that.. I just don't like it!

I dislike losing more than anything, so I just drive the car that works on a given track and just force myself to get used to it. It’s better for the overall skill set to learn different cars and styles too, over the long run. I can pretty near jump into any car at this point and be up to speed within a short time, because I’ve always forced myself to adjust, instead of just staying in my safe place. Just look at each car as a tool, sometimes you need the screwdriver, sometimes you need the hammer, but they all have a time and place to use each. You’re not gonna leave the Phillips screw driver in the truck at work, because you don’t like Phillips screws are you? You’re gonna use the right tool for the job. 👍

A random question. In real races like Race A in road cars are the airbags removed ?

I know they don't fit race cars with airbags because they have better safety features but was wondering if some road cars races, like if Race A were real, do they have airbags?

It would be nice to have a good adjustable spanner that fits perfectly when a socket is meta.

I mean okay, fair, but a lot of people do like at least some realism in their racing.

The Atenza, when everyone was running it, managed to give of a bit of a Supercars look and feel to the races, especially before renting and everyone had different liveries so you could get something out of that, if nothing else but aesthetically.

The Beatle, well, I mean we're just watching Cars 4 I guess.

To give it some credit, as a cockpit only driver it does have a pretty interesting one with an appropriately toy like screen with bright colours for the rev counter

Unique in the game if I'm not mistaken? The only other I can think of that's as unique is the gorgeous rear view camera display in the Veyron

Been practising on Deep Forest (daily B) in the AMG and I'm within 8 seconds of the Top 10.
Which I think is ok for a D rate...:eek:
Been sharing replays of my 'best laps' if anyone wants entertainment....:lol::lol:🤣
 
Paranormal goings on in the Daily Races today!

Race A, stuck at the final loading screen for in excess of 15 minutes (no exaggeration), leaving grid of 5 and a grid of....TWO in half of my four of my attempts this afternoon. Quite funny to meet the one other driver who has the patience to sit through it.

Then... Oh my, Race C (loving it btw) did a quali session, locked in a 2.03.1, which was very satisfying, just to enter the race session to find it hadn't recorded my time! 😭. I managed a 2.05 during the lobby countdown timer and that gave me a P10 start when my actual quali pace would have had me in 2nd. All turned out fine, I fought my way to 4th.

I should have guessed something funny was going on from what I saw before I'd even set foot at the circuit...

If realism is the name of the game, then fair enough. I don’t care about the realism aside from the driving physics, I just want good racing. I’m the oddball who doesn’t watch, know Anything about, or even pay attention to real racing in any way shape or form. I just like driving the cars myself and racing, that’s all. So just use what works without a care for the most part, I have no brand loyalty or anything else to think about either. I couldn’t imagine being loyal to some giant corporation in a video game, no matter how nice their cars look.

I haven't done a daily race since the penalty nightmare that was the Tokyo race in the Gr4s, but I thought I'd come back since race A and B were combos I like. Just tried A, and... wow, it's not much better than the Tokyo race to say the least. 5 second penalty for inavoidably hitting a spinning opponent. The car handles absolutely horribly too. Well, at least race B is predictable.

Maybe GT7 should only have one Gr3 can then. What's the point of all the others? Regardless of which view you use, we still see other cars in the races and hear the car we're currently in. I was using the DB9 almost exclusively in last week's C and one of the best parts about that car is its engine tone; simply fantastic and sounds much better than the 4t in the Beetle.

Would be great to see cars like the Ferrari, McLaren, Merc, Vette, BMW, Lambo, etc. all racing (assuming they could compete) and be fast depending on one's driving style. And for those, like me, who enjoy watching and saving replays a little variety would be a much welcomed change... especially when the META isn't even a real car. Variety is the spice of life.

Speaking of 4t, some people are doing well with the WRX.

Why not both? Realism and good racing... I watched IMSA over the weekend and there was some great fighting between the BMWs, McLaren, and Porsches. The McLaren passed two BMWs in the last 10-15ish minutes for the win. Was really exciting. And there were no VW Beetles out on track.

Personally, I have no little brand loyalty either. Just want some variety is all.

If you look at F1, NASCAR, WEC standings. Ferrari, Chevy and Toyota are somewhat Meta at the moment. WEC is proably the most extreme example where there are regular eras of domination.

It's not always about the best car, it's often about the rules/restrictions. For example, at the moment the WEC rules just happen to align with Toyota's development in Hybrid tech. History shows that won't last. Someone else will improve on their work or the rules will change.

While I agree it’s all about the racing, the reason I play the game is so I can drive my favourite cars, my favourite race cars and drive cars that I would never be able to drive in real life. The way the game is at the minute with the meta car, I might as well play F1 2021 and race the F2 cars as they are all the same

Realism can go to far though too, iRacing is a great example. It’s super realistic, to the point where you get a bump in T1/L1 of a 1h race, and have to pull over, wait for the tow truck, and then put for repairs, only to come out for lap 2, 3 laps down on the field. lol

I’d be down for a one make every race/week. I love one makes! It’s all driver then, the car doesn’t even matter at all, that’s the best race there is. :)
 
It is quite satisfying though when you use a non-meta car and beat out the meta cars. The Alfa 155 and Atenza are pretty competitive at Deep Forest, the 155 only really suffers on the straights. Corvette is good around Deep Forest as well, always upsets a few people.
