GT7 Daily Race Discussion

Still trying to figure out a good car for race B. Currently trying the McLaren 650S and it's really fast in a straight line but it's not so good on the corners and if I knew how tuning works I could probably get more out of it. All I am doing is changing things and seeing what works or doesn't without really know how it will affect things. Not hit a magic tune like I did for the focus RS last week sadly. Still I am having some fun racing that has mostly been clean so it's all good.

What I am really enjoying is seeing all the names that were driving the VGT last week mostly at the back of the field. Racing not so easy for them when they don't have an op fantasy car to drive.

You haven't seen complaining if you haven't looked at the subreddit. Every aspect of the game gets raked over the coals there.

These complaints are more valid but thinking about it rationally I believe PD will get the balance right with likely race A being tuning and B and C being more standard BoP Gr3/4, but we need to see how it plays out first.

I think the reaction is heightened today because we had the dangled carrot of BoP before it, and our quali times, were taken away from us last minute, which is a shame.

This was hilarious, even last week. It was so clear to who the people were who had come from the lower ratings, as they'd be trundling about sliding everywhere mid-pack, just to overtake everyone on the straights and bin it on the next corner - it didn't work so well for them when people were actually able to keep up.

It got even better on the 4th lap when they'd run out of juice and get passed by everyone, now without the ability to zoom past.

Yeah Daily C feels pretty tough, I think it has most do with my decision of going slightly against the stream and choosing the devil, which is Huracan 😅😈 Pretty poor hotlap, 1.47.2, using Kies R8 settings with minor adjustments. I reckon a 1.46.7-9 is out there, once I nail a lap and the setup fully.

I guess I have to buy an R8 evo too, seems to be meta. Just to see where I stack atm. I think a low 1.46.0-5 is out there with the R8 maybe? Anyways, good that the game puts up a fight. I would have got that 1.47.2 after like 3-4 laps with GTS handling, ngl. 1.47.2 took me like 8 full laps and same amount of spins 😅

There's a Yt video on page 17 for the R8, haven't watched it yet. I use the Lambo, I'm not an alien, nor a master tuner, but willing to share a baseline I created that got me down to 1:46.3xx, just in case it helps anyone else.

There is. Lots of mixed lobbies where I'm at. Having fun for sure but I definitely could use a few extra mph on the straights in this Vette.

Ok, I never advanced out of B since Sport transferred stats over. I'll probably be fine there in the Corvette.

Don't buy the Corvette, you win it for getting all gold on one of the missions. 3rd one I believe.

Looks like I need to get on that then. Or, I'll be lazy and buy one.

Having done a couple of races today, I can see how there is a lot of potential for close racing in future weeks when they introduce BoP with setups allowed. I don't think it will require much work on our end and it will give us a bit of freedom that we might enjoy.

My second race had me start at pole and finish P4 in a photo finish! I in the Vette and the other guy in the Audi.

For daily race C, does the track temp change when it converges to night. Half way through with fresh tires, I noticed that there wasn't as much grip when it got dark. Also, what is the fuel pit strategy?

Last two Daily Race C have resulted in my game locking out just after the results screen. Screen is black with only “X Next” at the bottom. No response to pressing “X”.

Anyone else experiencing this issue?

click into race A and all the others will come up. Alsace is just a thumbnail for all dailies

I just wish there was penalty for pushing a car out of a corner, like a side impact penalty or something, i get 5 seconds penalty for crashing in the back of a car because he just brakes for no reason but he pushed me out on every corner after i managed to overtake him safetly round after round and gets not even a single penalty wth!
That penalty system is still a joke, i was hoping for a more refined system this time around, what have they done all those years?
Making sure the stars are at the right position or the clouds look fluffy enough???

Definitely a long shot fantasy, but I hope in the future there's 4 dailies. 2 for tuning, 2 for BoP with locked setups.
I think that provides enough variety without thinning lobby sizes too much.

I'm not meaning to sound offputting, but for those who don't want any races with tuning allowed is it only because of not enough time to make a proper tune, or is it because not enough money is given to afford tuning parts and tuning isn't the most balanced yet. If it is the last two, fixes could theoretically be put into place to improve the situation although only PD knows how likely it is for those fixes to occur.

Ok, tune is decent. Down to a 1.46.7 now from 1.47.2 with Huracan, one night of sleep helped. Did just a few laps. I feel like the potential with this tune and my current driving is now at like 1.46.4-5. Small tweaks, trying to get down to like a 1.46.2-3, then doing a few races. After that focusing on other dailies.

If I bronze all S licences (not sure about the dirt lap one and S-10 a challenge too), I get the R8 evo, maybe after that I give daily C another go. Time for work soon 🧐

Hi! Yesterday I decided to try race B, started with Lancer, after few setting changes I did 2.06.1xx Still 6s behind top10 times but I wanted to race ASAP Suprisingly my QT was good enough to start P4... PP time was 2.03.xxx but guy in P5 was 0.7s behind me, differences in QT were massive. Finished P3 when guy in 155 decided to rallycross After this I decided to try 155... This car is so fast... After just few small changes I beat my Lancer time more than 1s in just 2 laps. Finally I did 2.04.04x Today Im going to spend some more time on settings and do some decent QT, my goal is 2.03.5xx

Just because he can drive both the car and the tune certainly doesn’t mean everyone can.
