I have to admit that I also drive the GT-R because there is too much time from the M4 to the GT-R, otherwise I would rather be on the road with the M4... my hope is and remains a clear nerve of ALL 4x4 Gr4 vehicles, clear performance down and/or weight up is urgently needed here.

Otherwise you're right, if you drive considerately and allow the front man to "live on" by not hitting him in the back, you will be mercilessly abused from behind. I also had to find out several times yesterday.
What's on my mind so often: "Without the stupid slipstream, they wouldn't be able to keep up at all"

It's a blessing and a curse.

Nevertheless... I just love the Nordschleife "Green Hell" sooo much, it's like a magnet that just won't let go of me.
I've got two of them...😄

How can you do that?
I love the ring too much as well, but some varying conditions will make it even more fun, hence starting as D/E today.

You used to be able to get rid of your SR, 3 SR at a time, by driving back and forth. Drive the wrong way until the disqualify timer is down to 15 sec, then turn around drive the same way back and repeat. I did that twice at Sardegna (on the pit lane out of the way) yet after two races I was only down to SR.A. At least I wasn't triggering the yellow flag either, so no problems for those actually racing, but pretty ineffective now for ditching SR. Maybe less SR lost per turn around and turning is pretty slow without handbrake (not working anymore) It worked better on the Nord, using the grass at the end stretch to turn around more effectively. That did the trick.

First race at the bottom split. Most were clean and very capable drivers, side by side no issues. There was one troll though, hitting everyone on purpose. He brake checked me at the start of the straight before he got to serve his 1 sec penalty from going wide several times. After the brake check he tried to side swipe but got ghosted. I caught up to first, contact free pass, won with 3 sec difference. Definitely not a true DR C driver I was racing in his 650S. In the top split a GT-R often wins pole to flag with up to 20 sec difference to 2nd place. Back to SR C already, always skipping SR D.

Second race had 2 dirty ones. One old one I recognized the name, he was intent on crashing me. The second a Brazilian who pushed me off twice when I initiated a pass. Third time I made sure to be on the inside and his ramming was ineffective. I finished 3rd, watched a close battle between 1st and 2nd from a distance. Yet most of the people in the room were cleaner than those in SR.S lol. Still SR.C after this race, got hit too many times.

3rd race I'm in the top split, A+/S GT-R on pole :banghead: I finish 6th, 28.8 seconds behind the GT-R. Actually a whole bunch of GT-Rs in front of me sigh. I'm still C/C at least (seems SR takes longer to gain now, good!) so hopefully it gets more populated and I can get out of the top split again.

4th race, top split again. Same A+/S GT-R does pole to flag victory. 2nd is a Corvette, 7+ sec behind. I finish 5th 34 seconds behind. Same as usual, A+/S farming victories in the morning. I moved up to SR B.

5th race, another pole to flag victory for the same A+/S GR-R. Second is almost 10 sec behind in a Mustang. I finish 7th, got turned in on several times in the race getting shoved up the inside kerb, lose traction, knock the outside car off as result and likely get blamed for that... I finish 7th, 42 seconds behind. Yep, back to SR.C, more chance to get out of the top split!

Race 6: The other extreme, D/B on pole, C/S, D/S down to D/E in the room. The pole sitter won in the WRX, I finished 2nd 10 sec behind him after an altercation with a very dirty Veyron driver. He shoved me off 3 times, then attempted a 4th time on the straight. I pushed back this time, got in front of him and then brake checked him as I saw how this would end. Even 1.6 sec behind he tried to torpedo me at the end, but of course he got ghosted, hit the wall at 150 mph and quit.

Race 7: C/S on pole in GT-R. I pass him in lap 2 while he goes wide at Adenau and win with a 7 sec gap. Very clean room.

Race 8: C/C on pole in the Cayman. Clean fast race. I passed the Cayman just before the straight then slowed at the finish to give him the victory. Clean driver, made no mistakes, deserved. Fun race! Had an awesome outside pass, these drivers know how to share the road :)

Rcae 9: A/S on pole @Dairyworker yay! Unfortunately the guy I;m trying to avoid was there as well at the back. And yep, immediately he pushes a car off into the grass, into another car and I get to deal with his mess again sigh. @Dairyworker falls to third during the race but manages to get back to 1st to win with 0.275 to spare. Awesome!!! I finish 8th, low DR B now, somewhere in SR B.

Race 10: B/A GT-R on pole. I made it to 3rd but touched grass at the end and finished 5th. Gave too much room, but better me than knocking another clean driver off. Fun race.

Race 11: B/B WRX on pole. I finished 4th after epic 3 wide pass at 2:44 lol. Fun race.

Race 12: B/S GT-R on pole. I finished 3rd, 8 sec behind the GT-R.

Race 13: B/S 650S on pole. 5th place for me after an altercation with a Brazillian. I passed him clean twice, he bumped me off the next corner twice. The third time I passed him I slowed him down a bit, not getting a 3rd chance.. Rest of the room was clean.

Another difference between ps4 and ps5. PS5 must be hard to get / really expensive in Brazil as on PS4 I have rooms with 90% Brazillians. On PS5 only one or two. It seems the dirty ones made the move to ps5 and races on ps4 are definitely cleaner...

Time for a break!

It suddenly makes sense why it took me so long to win at the lower levels.
It's not because I'm slow, it's all the aliens on burner accounts messing up our races for their own amusement.
Yeah I don’t agree with people having burner accounts to race in lower lobbies. I created a 2nd UK account so I could race, have fun and not worry too much about my DR. Both my UK accounts are up to DR B and I will still try to remain DR B on my 2nd account.

I use my main account for GTWS series, single player stuff, online lobbies (as I have the cars in my garage) and I will enter Daily races on the odd occasions.
2nd account is used for Daily Races but I still push for wins or as high as I can finish. I use this more now due to the bad penalties systems and I don’t want to drop DR on main.

This is the one area where I've had problems with the MR cars - I haven't got the GT but the R8, 650S and 458 all get really out of shape on when setting up for the left hander and oversteer into the inside wall... Needs very gentle handling to get this combination right.
Yea, some can be a bear. I think the Audi and Lambo are the worst, The Ford GT 18 Race Car is pretty bad and the Ferrari ain't much better. I'd say among the best are the Porsche, Ford GT LM II, McLaren (though I've not driven this one in a couple of updates) and maybe the Peugeot.

Give the Ford a go (the white one). Jump into Daily B, TT mode only and go for it. Granted, if you're used to driving FR cars it will take a little getting used to but if you put in the effort, so will she.

Getting to run this wonderful custom livery at the ring has definitely made the mediocre results a lot more enjoyable

Thanks again @MidnightRun85 for doing it.

Bit of a personal amusement one though I grew up within walking distance of the first ever Greggs and while that's probably not a point of pride for anyone else usually, for us Geordies it may as well be a religious experience.

Newbie here - can someone share what is "dirty hour"
Read an earlier post that shared that mornings are less aggressive?
Running Sardenga this week which has proved difficult at times, seems like a wreck fest, But I keep going back for more...anybody agree?

In the Americas it's 7pm to 8pm EST when the races are at their dirtiest.

It's usually mostly clean in the morning until the schools go out at 3 PM EST. Then the dirt builds as other timezone's school kids join in to reach a crescendo at 7PM EST / 4PM PST. After 8PM EST things start to calm down again. Although not always as the school kids get replaced by the DUIs as the evening goes on.

In the weekend and school holidays problems can start as early as 12 PM EST. Saturday is especially bad.

How do you know which split you’ve been assigned to?
When I see A+/S in the room I assume I'm in the top split. I doubt there are enough A+ drivers on the Americas server to make a full A+/S room. One exception, if it's one A+/S in a B/S to D/S room, it would be the second split. The A+ likely having between 80 and 89 SR and got used as room filler for the last SR 90+ room.

Matchmaking goes in groups of 10 SR, starting with 90 to 99 SR, sorts everyone on DR and creates the rooms from high to low DR. Left over spots in the lowest DR room get filled with whatever is highest in the next range (80-89 SR)

Looking good! How's the performance??

The WRX is a really solid choice at the ring. It might not have the very top end of the GT-R but it's not far behind and handles great in the turns.

The trick to racing here as you'll know is consistency and the WRX will give you that.
The WRX has always been a dependable choice. With the ring having only one genuinely decent straight, the WRX should fight pretty hard through the majority of the track!

Gives you some great (controllable) slides as well on those quick flick turns where you're praying you don't clip the grass before you're through.

A short story about my recent experience with Race B

Started P6, on the very first turn I'm punted by someone, let's call him Ace. Pushes me back to P15.

I manage to claw all the way back to P4, and in the process, I'm able to do the very same move to Ace, on the very same turn during lap 3, pushing him back 3 places

I'm pumped man

I did one more race this evening because I'm having fun testing my skills on the Nordschleife. I'm back in a mixed lobby with a few A+/A ranked drivers. I start in P12 and it's not my best race, but I do gain two spots due to drivers going off track. So, I just cruise in P10 when a Genesis driver catches up to me before the Karussell turn. I had a bad entry and popped out and the Genesis driver tries to makes a pass but loses control of the car with a bad exit from what I can tell from the replay. I saw them and left plenty of room so who knows. I have a decent lead going into the final section before the finish, but enter too hot and lose a spot down to P11. Super frustrating because I made such a simple mistake. Bah...

And with that I'll say farewell to the Nordschleife. Even though I made some mistakes, I still had a great time this week. I don't think I've ever turned so many laps here. I need to work on the Wehrseifen, the turn leading to the Karussell, and the Hohe Acht sections of the track. They gave me some trouble this week in terms of corner entry. I couldn't get them right for some reason. I could get through them well enough, but I know I'm losing a ton of time there. I'll know what to work on for the next time a race comes up.

And so it happened, first time since GT Sport days I’m in A DR. Just finished 9th in a race filled exclusively with A+ and A drivers for some reason (yeah, I know it’s late hour but it’s so random). And I got so much DR it’s actually funny. I’m now relatively comfortably in A 😅. Started 12th, kept my own business, few people crashed and burned in front, didn’t make any serious mistakes and that’s it. Had a chance for 8th but Cypriot guy was so fast after his crash, I didn’t wanna push it too hard with him and compromise what I had.

I find the Brazillians on PS4 very clean and great drivers. Maybe since there are so many of them on there I now have many more good encounters than bad ones. The Americans and certain Canadians however...

Here's one from a race just now on PS4, he gives me the position even though I don't think he did anything wrong. I put pressure on him, he went wide, I stopped not to get collected and raced on.

(And as reward he gets hit by the next one in line doh)

Then look at this American in lap 2...

Then at the end I get rammed off by the Argentinian to finish second. Blue flags are the bane of my existence nowadays. I know a couple clean drivers from Argentina, yet the rest all seem to be incapable of dealing with getting passed.

Thought I was going to pull off a great pass here until this guy decided to live up to his super cool gamer name.

I should have seen it coming in hindsight

Wow when read this it was 9:11pm were I am....it was this guy's in the future!!!!

raced from 12am to 5am est this morning and came across mostly clean/friendly lobbies in A/B besides the occasional divebomb or hairpin punt

Hoping to see them soon (11 pm currently). It's been rough this evening. Not a single race without getting rammed :/ I can't get out of SR B on PS5 as getting rammed apparently hurts my SR just as much.

It's a challenge, normally only this hard at Bathurst and Monza from the back. Yet for some reason the Nord joins the two in GT7. PD really has made a terrible mess of the SR system. Not that it is much cleaner in SR S...

I guess no time penalties has turned GT into full contact push to (deny) pass 'racing'. While SR deductions are still doled out behind the scenes. I'm going to try the same thing tomorrow on PS4, see if it's better there. PS5 is wreckfest this evening.

im on ps5 as well and also noticed that if I race clean and still get bumped, my SR drops. Actually went from a B to a C this morning. I was quiet confused as to why

I guess the same old broken penalty system still runs in the background. PD only turned the time penalties off (or very rare to be issued) while the wrongful SR deductions still keep going.

It is getting cleaner now apart from one individual who drives at near A+ speed and wrecks every single car he passes. I'm following him throughout the race and see all the crap he's causing. (He's starting in front of me at the back) I lost him for a bit in lap 1 but joined up again after he served his one 4 sec penalty. He blocked me from passing, probably for the better. In an earlier race he got behind me and then wrecked me to get by again.

I did make it to SR A now, he's SR C, hopefully I won't see him again. No fun picking up places from a string of wrecks.
