What is this all about. So just as the race is about to start the engine dies on me and I’m then a sitting duck all the way down this straight. These rolling starts need changing. They should allow you in those 3 seconds to take control of the car, so we can either change gear etc…

Finding the GTR is quite stable during a race. Still struggling to get the full potential out of it but I’m finding this race is more about keeping it off the barriers then overtakes.

Hands up if you crashed on that right hand corner just before the bridge 🙋🏻‍♂️🙋🏻‍♂️🙋🏻‍♂️

The game would benefit from manual rolling starts. It would train people to pay attention properly right from the off.

You and I use the same inputs. I can say that in a lot of cars, if you quickly tap the X button right after you release the square, the rotation initiates right away, rather than coasting and waiting for the front end to get pointed in the right direction.
Are you saying that you use the buttons?

Something needs doing.
If I get jumped at the start by a driver who has timed it perfectly then fair enough. I just don’t like the fact the game has basically penalised me for using MT.

I know exactly what you mean. The amount of times I’ve bounced off the limiter or changed gear twice, or start facing a wall or in the middle of the chicane….

The worst part for me is that after a couple of races with the same starting position, once I figure out the timing for the initial gear shift then I end up in a different field in a different position in the next race, which has a different timing for the start.

Absolutely tanked my DR with Race C this week. I don't know what it is about it but on like 9/10 races I crash in the last lap, even after nearly flawless races mistakes-wise. Also they really need some indication that a ghosted car is about to un-ghost, it's like they almost time it so you crash into them (though tbf I wasn't trying to avoid the ghost)

I love your new tracker. Graphs are fun (yes I'm weird) and I end up making excuses for graphs in all kinds of games

One thing what might be nice to have is a weekly overview / variation, like you separate it by day now, a second tier that goes from race set to race set. In the Americas the first new race is at 3 AM EST (7 AM UTC). It could be nice to see what a week of races did for your DR.

And  your estimate is only 2 points off! 3002 DR after a reset!
Good to hear you're enjoying the tool :)
Note that the intent is not to estimate the DR score, but to give the range of possible values in which the score actually is.
I'll continue to make changes to the tracker if more players start to use it. The tool is probably still rather unknown. For example, i don't think any notable GT7 youtuber* mentioned it (which i think is an editorial missed opportunity).
By the way, you're by far the player who posted the most rankings (302 so far).

*: Found one video at least :)

Kudos to @Geauxgreddy

Was bored tonight of the daily races so decided to do a warm up to next weeks Daily C, Brands GP.
So RH/RM available but RH is mandatory. Fuel x7 which last about 8/9/10 laps.
Did 3 runs all in the Aston Martin
RM mix1, pit L9 (tyres & fuel) RH - Race time 19.08
RH mix1, pit L9 (fuel only) - Race time 19.16
RH mix2, - Race time 19.02 (Im rubbish at fuel saving and cant do this swapping between mix1-mix6-mix1 so I just ran mix2 all race which is exactly 12laps)

Top split (A+ drivers) fuel save is probably the only strat and the rest I would say fuel saving is the best strat for this race. If your thinking of doing a one stop race, I think traffic could be an issue here.

what car? And what was the fastest laps on Medium tires?

2 chaotic races for me this evening. The racing wasn't dirty, but very elbows out and aggressive. Still some good racing I had with others.

Race 1 I'm in P11 in a stacked A/A+ room with me being one of a few B rank drivers. I gain 2 spots after other drivers have some trouble turning onto the bridge. Then I make a mistake first lap entering the left-hand turn after the bridge and lose the spots I just gained after I get going again. Back to P11 where I have a nice battle with P10. I was getting some great runs off of some corners, but I had nowhere to make a pass. I force a mistake at the end of lap 2 and hold them off for P10 and the clean race bonus.

Race 2 is mostly the same lobby with another B rank complaining about the strength of the lobby. I'm down in P12 this time and things start going bananas entering the bridge turn. I see tire smoke everywhere and take P11. One driver sticks their nose in at the start of the sweeping right-hand turn and I give room and back to P12. Next lap, P10-P14 (me in P12) are all fighting for position as seen below.

Absolute insanity, I love it. I end up P9 after of all that. Lap 3, a driver is really slow on the front stretch and I take P8 with no fight from them. Turns out they had front end damage after I checked the replay. Anyway, I hold on and finish P8. That race kept me on my toes to say the least. Overall a good week of racing for me and my progress bar is moving ever closer to A rank. Someday I'll get there, some day. Hopefully my decent finishes can continue at Brands Hatch next week.

I'm thinking since Brands is pretty small with not a particularly long straight, the GTR might not actually be a go to. I just hope it's nit littered with Alfas.

Well this was a fun race. Not quiet a win, but a lot of moving up

I should probably stop going on GT7 after i finish work and playing in the early hours as the races are just boring. I'm A+ and i get C/C rated drivers in some races, maybe one other A+/A to properly race. I'm guessing not that many are playing the game, i defo don't remember it being this bad on GT Sport. So i think I'll just be practicing next weeks Race C......which looks interesting, and i have no idea which car will be the one to pick.

I really love St. Croix B so I didn’t mind hot-lapping for awhile to hit this 2:19.0. Such a fun track!

Nissan GTR at St. Croix B

That is an awesome lap, a text book example on how to drive the GTR round there

Is anyone else experiencing a lot more disconnects since the update? It appears that they have changed the way players join a lobby and it is causing me a lot of frustration. I’ve had about 2/3 of my race B entries disconnected between lobby load and race start.

Yeah game wouldn't go past the 'Preparing Track' bit on the opening lobby screen a few times earlier

Wow what a great race. You judged all the action around you perfectly

As I drive AT, which seems to not create that problem, I have always wondered why, me starting from a certain position, sometimes the driver behind me falls back after the start, while in the next race he catches up quickly and is close to my exhaust before T1. Now I have an idea. Makes me a bit reluctant to try the final step of learning to drive GT7: learning to use MT.

Aston Martin.
RM - 1.32 (lap 8) but average lap was low 1.33 but all depends on how quick you can clear the traffic.
RH - 1.33 (lap 11) average 1.34 - again traffic
RH (fuel save) I was averaging 1.35 but as the fuel burned off I think high 1.33 was fastest lap.

Im not sure what time my pit stops were as I forgot to check.
Qualifying position here I think determine what strat you use (in lower lobbies).

Yeah people on MT are hampered a little bit on the start. 90% of the time I don’t have an issue as it just learning how to judge the start.
Was just annoying yesterday as you can see from the video the car has the revs built up and I’m ready to shift straight away into 2nd, and then on that 1 second mark the car just dies.
Dont let this put you off from switching to MT. Driving MT just feels so much better especially if you using a wheel.

Nope, I'm on a standard PS4 controller. I'm still planning on learning MT at some point.
But my first goal is to not crumble under pressure anymore when I get thrown into a lobby with lots of A drivers. 😅 I've been close to A for two months now, but in the races where it really matters, I suck.

They have broken something with the update. There are just an enormous number of disconnects happening at the moment. The game is almost unplayable again.

Right now I have been stuck on the screen immediately before the race for 9 minutes. No crash, just a spinning wheel of death in the bottom right corner. I’m starting to wonder whether this might last forever. The game hasn’t done this for several months.

You and me both, brother! I was in a hot lobby in Race B for a couple of races before dinner yesterday and got overwhelmed in the traffic. It was so crowded through that last S and I was trying to leave room for everyone, which meant I forgot to leave room for me. Someone knocked in to me and I think I completely shoved @Talon16 off the track, and then got bumped into the sand myself. I was able to roll through and settle into a clear spot for the rest of the race, but those A drivers were having their way with me. I’m so close to being an A driver right now but I’m not sure I want that yet! I may tank a few races just to stay at a solid B for another week.

What consoles are you guys using? I’ve only had a couple glitches on PS5, though they were frustrating for sure.

Definitely noticed an issue but not to this level. It's finished warm up and then just stuck there in the lobby a couple of times, people can still use chat (about how broke the game is, lol) but I ended up quitting out as it didn't seem to be doing anything.

It seems people load in more than once to the lobby looking at the log as it loads in, no idea what they've changed but it still needs work.

PS4 Pro.

Yeah, the new setup is weird. Lots of people enter the room twice and it looks like you can now start practice before everyone has loaded.

The race I got stuck on started 13 minutes after schedule with 6 entrants.

I guess we shouldn’t be too harsh since online gaming is such a new thing…
