Not too happy I’ll be missing this weeks dailies due to holidays. Couple of great weeks behind us with mt. Panorama & the Glen.

Gr2. Fuji - would have loved to race this for a week and get my circuit experience gold on Sunday! Enjoy all

Thought I'd try and bring some variety to race A (aka the Scirroco Cup). Turned up in a nice yellow Integra. Unfortunately the grid was full of aliens in the aforementioned meta. Even the couple of fellow Bs had succumbed. Was way off the pace so quit early. Not as much fun as it looked on paper. Maybe the lower levels on the alternate account would be more interesting.

I have tried the Scirroco, Integra(both stock and KC20C), Demio, Golf GTI, FK8 Civic Type R, Swift.

the FK8 can be set up completive against the VW. The integra has potential but seem harder to handle in the high speed turns

Don't give up. It might not be possible to beat them all, but I will be going after them for the rest of the week:

Race C - RSR seems to be the top qualifier early. Maybe it's my bad driving (newish to wheel setup) but I have trouble with it being loose under race fuel load. I'd rather be a couple tenths slower and be in better control/able to race more clean. Looks like the Merc is pretty good (sure works for Beavouis in that dang endurance mission), any other suggestions for stability/grip in this BOP?

I caught it. Daily C. Fuel Map. BLINDED. Bringing in 70 lap fuel map. 7 minutes

CORRECTION. Fuel map not in trial section. is located in actual race. 60 laps. seems like a lot. Not sure how to genete auto chat options. $30,000 body rigidity. $100,000. Overhaul. Mclaren F1 97. using it now. put 2 or 3 on the 155. 3! Start new recording. requires harddrive space. Pre-Order Bonus setting up 155 activating on completion of final menu book. 6 star roulette ticket. $1,000,000. These could be useful daily race chat features. I do not know how to use them.

Example: My goal was to save for the Porche 917k. All I ended up with was an XJ13 and Twin Rosso Barchetta's. It is easy to remember when you have them. Quick Look up. Spelling Errors.

Got the FK8 Civic down to a 1:24:006, which should at least be competitive than the Bs (and 4 hundredths ahead of Kowalski, a little bonus).

Down to 1:21.7 in the FK8...in the race. But only 1.22.00 in qualifying so far.

You need to adjust for my fully terrestrial status.
Odd that you're slower in quality, with minimal fuel and no tyre deg.
Had another go, more Bs showed up in non-VWs so it was a lot more fun. Took off the BTCC livery, not fast enough yet to deserve it.

So far for daily A.

As a the slowest A+ driver in the world.

Scirocco - 1:21.4 Qualifying 1:21.9 race
FK8 Civic Type R - 1:21.8 Qualifying 1:21.7 Race
RCZ GT line - 1:22.3 Qualifying 1:22.6 race
Swift Sport - 1.23.8 qualifying 1:23.9 race
Mazda Demio - 1.24.5 qualifying 1.24.8 race

Can not figure out why the Scirocco is so much faster in a straight line, its more stable than the CTR as well, but I like my loose CTR tune.

Nah def not the slowest, good races earlier. But yeah the Scirocco is op for some reason.. The torque is higher than anything else i tried to build though so maybe thats it

I wonder if it’s the slipstream one that long straight that is cutting time off. I had my fastest laps in race A last week when I had slipstream.

Had a fun time today in Daily B. I normally hate Fuji, at least the third sector, it's just boring to me. Anyways, qualified in 10th (1:33:xx, top time was 1:30:xx). I am driving the GT-R '08. Most of the rest of the field was the GT-R '16 with a couple NSX and another GT-R '08.

Squeezed up the inside of someone in T1 to take 9th. Settled in there for a lap or two, then attrition started. All the way up to 4th with the top 3 in sight on lap 5 into 6 after the guys in front of me took each other out AND gave each other 2 second penalties.
Thought I'd finish in 4th but the guy behind had a great run through the final sector and snuck up the inside in the last turn.

Drag race to the line between GT-R '08 and GT-R '16. The '08 is definitely faster to accelerate and higher top speed, corners worse. Regardless he outran me to the line by 19 hundredths of a second. Great race, lots of fun. Expect people to get penalties and go off track. You can make up places from the back pretty easily.

Had a weird moment in Race B earlier. I'm currently catsitting for my parents so am back at their place on PS4 instead of PS5.

Was doing some races and found that my pace from quali (1:29.3) was somehow translating to a 1:32.5 in the race, which is an absolutely insane time difference. It felt like I was losing pretty much all of this time in the straights, I'd genuinely lose about a second and a half from the last turn to the first turn, every single lap - people would rocket past me. I'd drop from the top 5 to pretty much last over the race distance.

I did a few of these races, eventually trying to figure out what was wrong, if I was getting a bad corner exit and ruining my entire pace across the straights, if I had a low fuel map - but nothing felt different to qualifying except for the fact I was a sitting duck on the straights.

It looked like the other cars were sort of "lurching " forward as they passed me, which eventually made me decide to restart my PS4 and I immediately dropped my race pace down 2 seconds to high 1:29s / low 1:30s, problems solved.

Weird, innit? Some sort of game or connection bug was costing me time on the straights. Never had that happen before. Had to spend a good amount of time reclaiming my donated DR, lol.

Yes.

the weird thing is my CTR build has more torque 320lb/ft (down lower though), and Demio has 343 lb/ft, in fact my scirocco is the lowest torque out of all the cars tested.

I can only think that it has a lower drag number with similar downforce than the other car. With that said a stock CTR's drag coefficient is .26 and stock Scirocco R is .33.

So apparently there’s a tuning race this week for FFs, so I thought it was a good opportunity to hop on and quickly make a tune based on the knowledge I’ve gained over the past year or so. I pretty much made a spreadsheet where you just add parameters and it spits out a rough outline of a setup, then adjust certain things that the game thinks will make the car faster, before finally hand-tuning it. On paper, the car that I chose (Peugeot 208) was at least cornering as well or better than my opponents, but it was getting butchered at the start with some not-so-great quarter/half mile times. The start instantly makes it a last-to-p5ish race with the setup I currently have. I'm content with the performance otherwise.

The combo itself is unfortunate, it has the appearance of something that shouldn’t be a two-horse race, but I have only seen the Scirocco or the Civic do well. The VW is the only car I remember actually winning, and its usually just the pole-sitter disappearing while everyone else is stuck in a battle or no man's land. Its not particularly clean either. Lots of push to pass and intentional takeouts. I may or may not have attempted murder on another driver for what looked like blocking. There’s no chips on the line, so I don’t understand the mentality.

The race I’m posting here was probably the cleanest I’ve had so far. The grip at the start of the race is comically bad so I took it easy so I didn’t end up on the inside barrier into T2. Its probably the first time I experienced something that resembled snap understeer too. Felt like a 50/50 chance that I would end up coming in too hot, or have too much lock and b-line it into the wall or off line. At some point the novelty wore off, and what should have been a fun change of pace just ended up being annoying.

It's sad imo that the "fun" tuning races just devolve into a meta fest still, its such a bummer.

I've said it before and I'll say it a million times again - incorporate shuffle races into it! Give us a set list of cars, and every time we queue up every player gets put into a random car out of the list, meaning you get a fun varied sprint to the finish.
For quali, just give everyone the same car out of the selection.

Would be infinitely more fun than what we get imo.

I have a scirocco under 1:20 setting here.

Yes please! I have plenty of fond memories from the GT5 dirty shuffle days, and I have no idea how it hasn't returned yet.

I remember someone hosting faux-shuffle lobbies in GT Sport where they would tell everyone in the lobby what car they get to drive, with each car of course having similar specs. It was honestly some of the most fun I've had in that game.

If I can find the time, this may be the first week I do a bunch of both B and C. Fuji comes natural to me and I need a lot of practice with worn tires.

Has anybody made a decent tune for the Alfa MiTo, maybe better than my own? I've still got some work to do in Race A this week, and I won't do it in the Scirocco. 😆

Interesting and a bit strange to see that I'm around 35 PP down compared to the Scirocco despite same weight and power. I can't even get the downforce over 100/150 despite having all the aero parts installed.

The time left on track is probably my driving more than my tune but will give this a go tonight, I always find yours to be very good mate!
