Catalunya no chicane is a great track. What on earth were they thinking with adding that stupid thing?

1 race C for one win in the BRZ so far. I expect the BRZ and the RXV to be very strong because of the tyre wear. But the RSR, Mustang and Corvette are very fast around the track as well.

im at school atm (breaktime) and need the recommended (meta) cars for the daily races for my Instagram account. Any help would be appreciated!
Looking like a mixed bag in A, C, with GTR & 911 rsr on top of the leaderboard and B looks like a Alfa

My race A stream crashed again for no reason that I can tell (it said disconnected from the network but I didn't get booted to the home screen, so maybe not the fault of PD, probably lootube) but I was still able to do 3 races on stream, 1 after and one before on my main account. I learned that the contact penalty system allows for sideswipes and light front and or rear contact which I think is fine for this type of racing. Just think of it like X Games rallycross or similar and it's fun for a way to turn your brain off. Bump (not blatantly slam with full force) and run, park it on the apex if needed, and if you get bored do a joker lap like I did in the second streamed race. Just watch out for ghosting which there's a lot of, it's essentially broken at the start if people false start up front.

I’ve had good races on the old layout in the Mustang, so should be even better without the slow corners.

Race A should be insanely fun but in practice it's like racing with a bunch of angry apes who only know how to unga-bunga eachother into the walls. Shame.

They have no damage enabled which I feel like is a missed opportunity to solve that - it is genuinely faster just to go full send into the slower corners and bounce off other cars because you get away essentially scot-free.

It had to be made due to safety issues, FIA safety regs, and this kind of crap...
Yes they absolutey botched the track, as the chicane is the worst thing ever done to a racing track that i can remember

The unga-bunga intensifies once the lights goes off. There will be instances where they will aggressively block in order to secure their place.

I was in a race with @Stephan and his battle for 1st ended abruptly when the leading car blocked so hard to the point it caused a crash.

Just achieved my first perfect race! Shame it was on the 2nd account, but still.
Daily C. Lap time is 1.41.7 at the minute, I reckon I have a little bit more time in me.
Was pole by more than 0.5 seconds. First lap I gained a gap to P2 by 1.5 seconds and I just extended that lead all race. End of lap 6 I was over 10 seconds ahead, pitted for hards and from there on it I was just a case of bringing it home.

Pole, Lead every lap, Clean race, Fastest lap and the Victory!
I can retire now i think.

the RSR is really nice since the update

I love the Porsche. So before the 1.20 I struggled with TC0 setting. Only cars I could run TC0 with was the Hyundai and AMG, every other car I had to use TC1 as I was just losing the back end everytime. I have been practicing with TC0 in TT and custom races but never felt comfortable in sports races. Since the new update the Porsche I can run on TC0 in sport no problem, and I struggled with this car the other week at Lake Magi.

Raced Daily C again and got another win. Started P2 but made the import overtake at the hairpin on L1. From then I just opened the taps. Loving this combo (until im in higher lobbies and losing 🤣)

Race C - i'm at a 1:41.2 in the F-Type (similar in the F458), it was good for a 3rd place start in A/S. It's fine on the Medium's, when i switch to Hard's it's not great, the game crashed on the last lap, lol. That almost knocked me back to B/S.

I'm going to try a few cars on the Hard tyres before i go again.

Qualified 1:42.3 for race C. Started 5th, only to go down to last after missing the break point of first corner. Luckily I didn’t ruin anyone race. Ended the race 11.

Jumped into the next race, and did a couple extra qualifying laps, improving 1:41.704, which surprised me as I ended up starting 1st!!!

My heart beat was high thought out and I kept first place , with the Spaniard behind me going 1-2sec behind. Lap 5 end is here , this is my race to lose.
I go to pit and switch to Hard tyres, but the gods are cruel. I miss the entry, crashing into barrier, ON THE OUTSIDE, I spend 2 seconds to get my 911 back into the pit lane, picking up a 1.5s penalty. I cry inside…:nervous:

I exit the pit lane at 8th, and my penalty is up to 4.5s because on entry, I “crossed “ the line. I cry even more. 😭

Next laps see me go upto 3rd, down to 5th and finishing 4th.

I will go sulk now….

Edit: lot of options for people to chose from. Here in EU, 911, BRZ, huracan, 458 italia and GT-R 500 are all in top 10.

Too scared to go TC0 in Sport. Might be TC1-ing in the Porsche for Nations on Friday.

Formula 1 thought it would bunch cars up for more passing at Turn 1.

MotoGP used it after the death of Luis Salom but they have since gone back to the full track.

I feel your pain. Been there and done that when I’ve been pole. Normally I just bin the car on the first lap as I just don’t know what to do when they is no cars infront of me.

Pit lane is awful here. Awkward and tight. I just take it slow as it so easy to dip a tyre over the line.

Yeah same. The races I felt comfortable running in TC0 I did maybe 1 lap and then just switch back to TC1 for a little bit of security. I’d rather lose 0.5 seconds a lap then spin and lose 30 seconds

As this is my first time actively playing sports mode I have no idea where my level is among the player base. But last week with Willow Springs was definitely a good week for me. Ended up with a qualifying lap of 1:12:495. As I started the week in rank D (dropped down from C the week before) I had no idea what to expect. Ultimately landed in rank B last night to close the week. Mostly top 3 finishes troughout the week going up the ranks. Excited to see if I can continue that form this week by focussing on the Catalunya no chicane race.

Beforehand I was a bit weary of diving into sports mode but so far I'm really enjoying it. The occasional rude driver here and there, but mostly just fair racing and good competition. You don't have to win races to feel overly excited from a race result at least.

Race C is a very nicely balanced race. I have seen good results in the RSR, BRZ, RXV, 4C (yes really) and the Corvette. The RSR is quickest for me so far in race and qualy (1:40.5xx) but I haven’t tried the Mazda yet.

One tip would be that an 8th lap on mediums in the BRZ is risky. It really struggles to turn right for the last few turns.

And it was a complete failure.
It didnt improve overtaking and they replaced one of the best corners in the track for a horrible chicane.
The issue about Catalunya is that it's a bit too narrow for modern F1 cars. It is not a modern wide Tilke track, but an early 90's design track. Wheel to wheel racing very difficult in most parts. They should simply widen all the track a meter or two. I don't know if it's possible but they should try.
They could also consider adding camber to some corners

Here in this link you can find an interesting video about it

Quite like the way the tires are working, and the status displays, both in the GTWS and Race C this week. It's feeling like a part of the sim now, before you could generally ignore it and not have too many worries.

Same with damage actually.

I don't play much single player so I don't know the knock on effects it might have had there but for now it's a thumbs up change for me.

Yeah I got squished so hard by the pole sitter that I had no room to pass. I would've braked hard but there was like a driver behind that could've rear ended me if I braked hard so it was a lose lose situation.

Also Daily Race A is how I describe it as chaotic fun. This one says it all.

That race I will say ghosting saved me in that one otherwise I would've been screwed over. Was able to get my first win around this track at least.

Is there a way to upload a reply to YouTube without a video capture?
Without capturing any video at all? No - how are you going to upload video if there's no video?
Without an external video capture card? Yes - your PS4/PS5 automatically record live video all the time; you only have to tell it what to save, and then you can trim it further yourself on the console. It's called "Share" on PS4 and "Create" on PS5.

C is leaning towards MR it seems, most races I have been in has had podium all Porsche RSR.
But the Ferrari and the Lamborghini are almost as fast. And I haven't tried the Ford's yet
