I did some Race C's yesterday in the Alfa 4C, such a good car. Maybe not the meta, but not far off either. Also I can manage 6 laps on meds and 4 on Hards. So glad the last patch fixed the Mr physics
In case you feel like giving it some F1 vibes, I'm sharing this livery for the 4C tonight...

Well, I have to share, don't I? Very satisfied with my best daily qualifying performance til date. 8th overall and 5th in EMEA.

Been a while since I posted here, really struggling with the daily's lately. I just cannot warm to the physics of GT7 vs Sport and the only cars i feel half decent in are the Z4 and the 155. Tried Catalunya last night as there is no chicane so maybe tolerable and I was all over the road, i cannot place the cars where i want in GT7, I am missing my apexes constantly. Managed a 42.1 in the Mclaren but zero consistency.

I dunno what it is, but for first time in years i am not looking forward to my weeknight racing.

Time to shift to stick and triggers.

I spent 350 miles yesterday learning Suzuka for the first time in the dreaded alfa. It actually feels ok there. The racing has been mostly ok, bar one idiot, he’s done this before, goes deep and you cut inside then he just turns into you and then does the usual flashing and trying to bomb me at every turn which is a shame. The lighting went a bit strange in a race today, so overcast I could hardly see, like I was watching through sunglasses. Overall I really like Suzuka, I think I prefer TT there than racing tbh.

I knew you'd come around to Suzuka.

I really wanted to do some Race C this week but there is construction being done on my building and I had to rearrange the area where I play. No wheel until next week. I'd love to see for myself how this new update has changed things.

Sector 1 has a very satisfying flow to it, I’m still unsure how to correctly take the double apex left before the straight near the end (sorry dont know the names), so I do feel a bit clumsy in places but it’s probably my favourite grand prix track, which im usually really bad at.

You save the replay of that? Because that should not happen.
See here from Tidgney:

Nope. It was a weird one for the logic, in the sense that i was spun around 100m before the turn, i started to get control as was almost fully-sideways but didn't manage to do it in time. I slid over the corner and got the penalty...

Spoon, I believe. Yeah, that's a tough one that I feel is one of those turns many will never have full confidence they took it perfectly.

Managed to get my quali time on race C to 1:42:231. Barcelona has never been my favorite track to race but the stability of the BRZ is definitely helping me improving my time slowly. The real struggle though is stringing smooth laps together. So far it’s been hit and miss. But the no chicane version is definitely a winner. Glad they added this.

I had probably the best race in Daily Race C yesterday. It was a fight for 1st for most of the race trading the position multiple times. Most importantly, it was kept clean throughout!!! I don't think I ever been in such a close race, without causing accidents to others (or others to me). It was really a thrilling one.

You can watch the full race here:

I started 3rd, with a Spaniard in 2nd, and a German in 1st. I jumped into second in the first lap and managed to keep it until the end of the lap, when the Croatian in 4th bumped the Spaniard into the sand on the last turn, pretty much killing him. In lap 3, the German makes a mistake, giving me the opportunity to close on him by the end of the lap, into his slipstream and I manage a clean overtake in the first turn of lap 4. I keep 1st position for lap 4-5, courtesy of the German getting 0.5s penalty twice. I go to pit at the end of lap 5, while the German goes for 6 laps on his mediums.

I go through my out lap and as lap 7 start, the German emerges from the pit lane, and we both go side by side into the first corner and again I manage to overtake him in first 2 turns, but lose some speed on the wide Renault bend before the bridge and he takes 1st again. I keep up behind him. Before the tight hairpin La Caixa, I manage to overtake him again...but I'm a tiny bit late on going full throttle, and he takes over the lead once more. Lap 7 end with me in the slipstream, and again I manage to overtake him in the first turn of lap 8, only to lose it in the wide Renault bend(I really need to be more confident and speed more here).

All this fighting and the Croat in 3rd is starting to close up. The German then have a misshape on Campsa, and I right behind him turn a bit extra to the right, over the curbs to make sure I avoid hitting him exiting. I lose a golden chance to take the lead...and the Croat close in even more. Lap 9 saw the top 3 within striking distance of each other, and in my head, I was planning to stay in the German slip until turn 10 first turn, as throughout the race, this was the point I always perform best. Sadly, it was not to be, as the Croat in lap 9 decided to send it, badly, and hit the back of my car almost ruining my race in the La Caixa hair pin, I manage to survive and keep 2nd position, but now 1st was out of reach and lap 10 end with me taking 2nd place.

Took a Mustang to the Porsche Cup. Didn’t feel as good as in the past, started 9th, finished 9th. Once again had problems with tyre grip on the outlap, seems like something changed in the update.

That was my 100th Sport race in GT7. About 99 more than I usually play online, so the devs must have done something right.

13 clean races (I was very erratic to start and I swear recently it’s more track limit penalties than collisions), 4 fastest laps, 4 poles, 2 wins, 35 top 5s.

Have done my fastest lap in the Mustang, 1.42 flat so far, but in race it chews the tires and is sliding around on hards. Tough car to recommend outside of its outright pace over a lap. Shame as well as it's one I love to use usually.

perhaps if players had to earn a sport mode licence for clean driving and racing skill their racing might improve instead of just pushing others off the track.
Most are doing it on purpose, not lack of skill... Quite sad running races like that, actually.

Got down to 2:13:2x (Race B in Suzuka) and tried my first races with the wheel. First two attempts were disastrous, I nudged another driver off the track in the last round in both. I stayed behind them as a gesture of apology but I'm sure it still pissed them off. Third race and onwards went well, and eventually I was able to place 6th. I expect to drop a rank soon but ah well, what can ye do. It's still miles more fun than with the controller.

This is how my races went at Suzuka tonight...

Absolutely chaotic racing in the bad way. Yikes. I did manage to get my time down to a 2:11.9XX so that was a big plus on the evening.

Race 1 sees me in P7 to start which is where I thought I would be starting. Race starts out fine. Some bumping, but nothing too bad. I'm all over place position wise with myself and others going off track, incidental contact, and other racing shenanigans. I find myself in P8 on the final lap, but I swing out too wide for my entry into the hairpin turn and a Ferrari does the same. I have a decent lead going in to the Casio Triangle and the Ferrari dive-bombs me so terribly I am in disbelief. I fall to P14 in the end.

Race 2 sees me P4 this time and I make a huge mistake thinking I had room to sneak back behind a GT-R I didn't have the speed to get by going into R130 with another car in the slip. Sorry guy I hit. But, they actually completed a PIT maneuver to me when I cut across their nose so I got the worst of it. I finish P12. Oops, my bad. The rest of the field was incredibly dirty from my vantage point. Shoving each other off track and the like.

Race 3 I'm P6 on the grid. The race is nice and calm and I finish P4 after I get a track limit penalty. I wouldn't have caught P3 anyway so nothing lost in the end.

So far, I'm really liking the Alfa. It's quick in the corners and easy to drive. I usually don't drive in the META car, but I don't think you'd have a chance otherwise. Hopefully I can get into some clean rooms like my last race tonight and have some fun tomorrow.

Set a decent time for Race B (a 2.09.8) but the race is nowhere near as fun as last week's Alfa fest. So spent most of my time doing some Race C's and doing loads of TT in all the MR cars. Managed to do a 1.40.7 in the Huracan but i'd hope by the end of the week i've got into the 1.39's....but my main goal this week is just to get better at driving MR cars.

Finally had a go at wreckfest on race A. Kind of fun, but a bit infuriating. First struggle is simply my inability to get the hairpins right, but that's just what it is. The other is the penalties. I've been behind people who hit barriers head on, bounce off using their nose or even catch the side and drop to a dead stop. No penalty, yet I barely graze it and I've got the penalty. Then there are the track limits. Same lines, but sometimes I get a penalty and the other driver doesn't, sometimes they get the penalty and I don't. Seems hard figure out.
But the chaos is kind of fun. If I cam just figure out how to take the lap consistently I will goback in, but for now I’ve gotta figure out the track a bit better.

I am a bit frustrated that there are so many hooligans just ramming you off track deliberately in race B when you make a clean and legitimate overtake.

Similar experience here. Had two races in mixed lobbies from A+/S to B/A. They both went almost the same. Lots of punting and shoving, but nothing too egregious. Started both in P6/P7, and got catapulted through the mess in T1 by the guy behind me, both times up to P2. Lucky break. Then I lost some positions during the race, due to my inability to get the hairpins consistently right. Always the same method: someone dives inside and shoves me wide, using me as a pivot to get around the turn. Only at the end of the second race I learned the appropriate counter measure: going very slow into the hairpins and parking on the apex. I ended the races in P6 and P5, respectively. Would have been some places better if I had known these tactics before.

All in all, some good fun, but not as wild and exciting as I had expected.
