Am I braking too early here or what? Isn't the first time I'm getting pounced on here and dumped in the sand, but if I brake later I go far too wide.
I must be having bad luck with the lobbies then as it seems to be every race, left me in a sour mood yesterday unfortunately.Nope. He missed his braking point and used your car instead.
I don't think I was expecting it from there, but even if I go tight it gives me a slow exit and prime for a divebomb into that downhill left. I will keep working on it 👍That’s pretty much where I brake, but usually a bit tighter so anyone following doesn’t have a target.

Is the Porsche that good on the brakes? If I brake under that bridge instead of 10 meters before it, I usually overshoot the turn (with different cars so far).He brakes in the same place I do in the Porsche. I haven’t tried the Viper, but the 911 can brake there and comfortably get around the turn. Are you braking too hard for too long maybe?
He shouldn’t have hit you though. Given his position he should have been ready to run tighter to overtake if the opportunity presented itself.

I "raced" you in the last :40 race but I was punted in the first braking zone and after fighting through the chaos of the next 2 laps, didn't have time to catch back up. Also, I don't blame you for retaliation against people if it doesn't slow anyone else down. I pretty much race this like how I watched X Games rallycross 10 or so years ago, don't worry about giving or taking bumps but if someone obviously slams me I will try to get revenge when no one else is around.Went back to Rallycross and got more consistent so headed out in NA. Ouch. Saw some familiar faces but it was a bit bumpy. I did slam one person I thought had just shoved me wide to pass, but I did make sure we had a big gap behind and let them back by. Stupid, but so is some of that race.
Turn 1 is lethal there. I've made it through 1 time without getting hit, and that's when I didn't know the track and couldn't take advantage. Tonight in 1 race I actually managed to get punted before we even got to the braking zone for turn 1. I can't even figure out how as I was passing the cars in front because I had such a good start. Oh well. It is an adventure for sure.
You must be new to GT7. Welcome.I am a bit frustrated that there are so many hooligans just ramming you off track deliberately in race B when you make a clean and legitimate overtake.
Very much like the BRZ in race, I'm a little faster with it as it's seat is on the left in cockpit view, doesn't require relearning the perspective like the BRZ.
Anyone, other than @timekiller001 use the Alfa for C? I had enough time last night for one more race and I was set to use it, then the race crashed/disconnected before it even started, so I didn't get the chance. Didn't have the time to wait 30 mins for the next race and 20 mins for it to be done.
Car seemed to drive well. Felt kinda like the BRZ but with some MR rotation (which now isn't a bad thing). But, again, haven't seen it in race pace yet. Tire strats? 6/4? 7/3?
I’m actually really enjoying race B! Maybe I’ve just been lucky with the quality of drivers around me, but it’s been some really good close racing!
I still haven’t managed to link a good qualifying lap together (2.09.4, what hurts is my friend has me by a tenth…a high 2.08 should be within reach) but I’ve found the racing really fun! The hardest part is going mistake free when you’re so close behind you have to guess where the apex is…
You call that hurt? Hurt is being at 2:11 like I am. Bear your suffering like a man!I’m actually really enjoying race B! Maybe I’ve just been lucky with the quality of drivers around me, but it’s been some really good close racing!

i'm north america, which is definitely less deep, and i'm mostly starting pole at 2:10.1s. i'd guess i'm quicker in the long bends, the right hander at the start and the sweeping left towards the end (about 1m30s into your video). that second one i usually sweep in closer - i brush the inside curbs a lot and try to power out. i take those early S-bends in 3rd gear, though i've not even considered 4th so no clue if you've got me there. also you are upshifting way earlier than me, which i'll have to mess with! Now I really need to get in the 2:09s if I am to have a decent start but can't find more time on my own...
Any tips? I tried doing the S's in sector 1 in 3rd gear but was losing a lot of time. The double left hander before the back straight i think is losing me time but not sure what to change... Tried different approaches but the one in the video seems to be my best version..

your lap reminds me why i like this course so much - different ways to solve the puzzle / perfection is extremely hard to achieve. i know people dog the Alfa 155 but i find it a lot more enjoyable than the meta Gr4 FF cars from GTS... unfortunately, with the hard tires, theres a small margin for error and i suspect that makes it seem like a 'dirty driver' car. for me, its much easier to avoid contact in the Alfa than the GTR - but i imagine it ends up being very twitchy on controller. in my mind, this is a race combo where having the wheel/pedal (logitech g29) has a bigger advantage - its easy to coast at a half-speeds and make little adjustments on the long turns.
Seems like I can't drive the Alfa. Although I wouldn't want to enter the race, I have to admit that I tried to get at least a decent Q time. Which I didn't. At first, I tried to get as smoothly round the track as possible, like I usually tend to drive with other cars, but was utterly useless. 2:11:5 was the best I could do. Then I watched some replays of top 10 drivers and was astonished how aggressive they are driving, hard on the brakes, hard on throttle, and abruptly turning the wheel. I tried to copy that style, and after more than an hour of trying, I managed to get to 2:11:0 regularly, with one single lucky outlier of 2:10:7. Seems like that's the best I can do. I can't avoid to make mistakes in every single lap. Just lacking control of the car. And obviously I'm giving up at least some tenths per lap by still not having learned to use MT.Finally got to grips with the Alfa.
I'd been avoiding Gr.4 races almost completely because of the typical meta, but confident at Suzuka as I am I thought it would represent a good opportunity to practice. I'm finally understanding how to control the oversteer under braking and dug out a decent 2.10.3xx after an hour or so of early-morning seshing after work.
That seems enough to put me happily in the top 10 at peak times, and with plenty to work with. Each race has presented unique challenges... Over-eager tail-gaters, tenuous braking, hard defending, bunched-up first laps, Shadow realm entries. Suzuka has it all!
I'm pleased that I made the effort.
It's a bug in the game. If you don't do any quali/practice sessions before the race, TC turns on by itslef.Anyone had the weird issue on daily race A of traction actually being on? I’ve won two tonight from pole but last 3 races I’ve had TC forced on and miles off pace 🤦🏼♂️😫
Yeah I second your tips - I'm much more aggressive turn one...just a slight touch of the brakes at the 50m or so, coast through the apex and gently on the brakes through the mid corner. I run the esses in 3rd, and am probably more aggressive through the right hander at the end too (it's a little hard to tell the exact speeds as I use kph, but I don't coast much, I trail brake through there a fair bit). The rest of your lap looks pretty spot on - I use 1st at the hairpin for turn in and back to 2nd before I get on the throttle.i'm north america, which is definitely less deep, and i'm mostly starting pole at 2:10.1s. i'd guess i'm quicker in the long bends, the right hander at the start and the sweeping left towards the end (about 1m30s into your video). that second one i usually sweep in closer - i brush the inside curbs a lot and try to power out. i take those early S-bends in 3rd gear, though i've not even considered 4th so no clue if you've got me there. also you are upshifting way earlier than me, which i'll have to mess with!

I'm enjoying Race B too and getting used to predicting where the shoves are gonna be so learned to avoid most now 🤣
What's a bit annoying is my starting positions. I previously had a 2:10:8 and was starting 10th and right in the middle of the madness.
Improved to 2:10:5 and was hoping for at least a P9 but didn't make much of a difference.
Today I managed a 2:10:3 (see below) but moved up a Tier and starting 14th 😐🫣😱

It is. Got basically the same Q time like in the BRZ, but much more fun to drive. How is it on tyres?McLaren 650 was very good.
Pretty good, honestly. Since I was starting towards the back I started on RH and was a little paranoid about putting the RMs on too early as I wasn't sure how the car was with the tire. So, I did a 5/5 but think a 4/6 would've worked as well. I am going to do more with it; was my favorite of the cars I tested out yesterday. It is. @Bullwinkle used the Jag in a race we were in together. Maybe he can shed some light?I swear one of you really fast buggers could get the F-Type round in a crazy time, it's very competitive.
