I have so much trouble with the last hairpin at Autopolis. I'm not sure what exactly I should be trying to do. I almost always lose time to other people here, and it's frustrating because I feel good about everything else (even if I don't always execute). Anyone got any tips? (Other than turn off assists, please, let's not go there.)

Can you approach from a little wider out? You are going to lose speed trying to maintain such a tight turn. I would recommend 1.5 car lengths to the left on your approach and drive in on the apex. This should help you maintain speed since it won't be such a turn.

He's been busy modding GTS/GT7 if you follow his Twitter. Has managed to bring the Lotus cars from the GTS Beta into the retail version, which is insanely cool.

Anyway... speaking of.

wow I want to do none of those. Maybe it's time to buy elden ring and wait for different daiies

Will be away abroad for 10 days as of tomorrow (work) morning so was expecting an amazing lineup of races for me to miss 🤣 Thankfully, seems like I won't be missing anything special 🤪 Good luck to all those who have to endure the onslaught at Monza and Barcelona 🤐

B will be a Supra fest with some Nissan SSS thrown in. Last time at Monza with the chicane the Mustang was very good, but that was a couple of updates ago... I hope it still is.

C looks to be a fuel saver again since there's no tire wear. So likely RH with a no stopper. BORING!

Anyway, God of War comes out on Wednesday and I can't wait! So, it's a good set of dailies for that.

I think I am done with A for this week. Improved the qual time to 56.719 and last I looked was 45th. Will likely go down but if I can be in the top 50 that'd be cool.

Haven't done a single lap on B or C all week.

I’m in the Porsche. I don’t know why I’m the only person who seems to be able to run 8 laps on mediums, but I’ve been noticing the disparity in my races. Maybe I’m not winning because I’m not running my tires ragged, but I was doing top five finishes on 8 laps.

I've read once or twice that it's a bit easier to save tyres when driving with a wheel? But anyway, you seem to have the "touch" needed for it. 😉
I haven't. No wonder I'm way better in race B this week. The Alfa wants it hard...🤣

Speaking of... I have been doing quite a lot of them this week. Good quali time, so I started many of them on pole in B/S lobbies, with some wins and some more podium finishes.

But boy, what a difference it makes which kind of lobby you're thrown into. My last two races were like day and night. First one from pole, P2 was a dutch guy with almost the same quali time as me. He didn't do any dirty moves, fell back a bit, gained on me again, and then passed me when I went a bit too deep in T1. He just so slightly touched my front when I turned in. And then he immediately went off the throttle and let me pass again. I was a bit confused, because I thought his move was absolutely clean, didn't know what to do for a moment, because P3 wasn't far behind, but then on the back straight, I pulled aside and let him pass again. Clean race to the end, he won, deservedly so, nice words in the chat afterwards, but before I could explain to him why I thought his move had been okay, he left. Anyway, fair play to him.

In the next race, I was one of only two DR B drivers in a lobby full of A/S and A/A guys, starting P5. I was sure I'd be going to get killed. But as the race settled in, I was able to hold my position behind a battling pack of P2-P4 (P1 was A+, had a top 50 Q time and was disappearing into the sunset...). I could have gone faster because they were losing time fighting, but I tried to stay out of trouble for five laps. When I made my first attempt at P4, he immediately tried to swipe me off track.
I finished P5 after an encounter with a frenchman who had started on P10 and finished P4. I watched the replay: he did 8 overtakes in the race, not a single one of which was clean. But no penalties for him, of course. He pushed-and-passed me three times, twice I reclaimed my position, but in the final lap, he just divebombed into me in T2 from three car lenghts behind. I was at least aware and prepared, so I survived, but lost the position.

And after that race I found myself being DR A again, and I have mixed feelings about it. If that's the kind of race I'll get (again), I'd consider tanking a few races just to get back into the B/S lobbies (hmm, just driving some races C with my normal abilities might do the trick😆).

When I finally got back up to S, my first race in the B/S lobby was awesome, without any issues. Of course, I was kind of in a bubble the whole race, so that probably had something to do with it. Anyway, I thought "Man, these "S" lobbies are great!" That lasted just the one race. After that, surviving even B/S lobbies has been a crap shoot. So I'm not completely convinced "S" lobbies are a whole lot better. Time will tell.

I am milking Race A for all it's worth today, unfortunately lobbies on PS5 are pretty thin. I've pulled a 56.9 in the C7 Corvette, good enough for 86th on the leaderboard. I've done about 50 laps practice for Race C but have no pace. I don't understand why PD runs Gr.3/4 races in dailies do often, that's what the manufacturer series is for.

Right, sometimes there are some wild drivers in the B/S lobbies, too. But as soon as I got up into the higher B ranks, it became less frequent.

BTW I sent you a friends request the other day.🍻

Yeah I agree.
When I was in lower B the races were dirtier as I feel like people are pushing too hard to try and gain that DR so they drop back down.
Since been in the higher tier the racing does feel more cleaner as I think people are been more sensible just so they can maintain a high DR.

Daily races next week. Not sure yet. Will do a few test lobbies tomorrow.
Daily B - think this will be carnage. Can see people divebombing into the chicanes from all positions.
Daily C - Fuel save im not great at these types of races. X1 tyre with mandatory hards? Can't see they been any strategy on this unless you have to save a lot fuel

I had good success with the Nissan Skyline Silhouette on the no chicane, that long right hander before the second chicane , the Nissans down force just keeps it planted while other cars tended to lose the rear tire grip.....

And I expect the same now in the lower A lobbies again. Because, well, I've experienced it already some weeks ago...😬

Just use the Supra GT500 its pretty thrifty using fuel and you basically can keep good pace while others burn through their fuel faster, I used it at the last Race C at Suzuka Raceway and I didn't need fuel at all.... finished p4

The butthead in this last race (well, one of the buttheads) was an A/S, and binned me on the last turn. Just so he could salvage P10.

Now that I think about it, since he was as far back as he was, he may have been trying to keep his A. At my expense, but hey, if it helped, I guess I don't mind. It's not like P10 or P12 was going to make much of a difference to me.

I accepted it, didn't I? Because I don't have any outstanding friend requests.

I'm a mid-to-lower B. As I kind of said above, I wonder if the "A"s that end up in my lobbies are just barely holding on to their A's? (There's a joke there, with an alternate spelling of "A's", but I suspect it would get me in trouble, lol).

That's what I'm thinking.

Someone suggested that sometimes players with different SR are put together in the same lobby because there aren't enough players to fill it.
Can't be....

There was a race in the first week of GT7 with similar regulations at Deep Forest where the 2009 Porsche 911 was the fastest until people figured out the 4WD Peugeot VGT. I would guess it will be that or something with an engine swap.
I think one of the Ferraris is going to be a surprise top OP....the 459 or GTB HANDLE REALLY WELL

F40 has been rhe fastest out of what I have tested, followed very closely by the engine swapped MR2. Haven't tested much though, and my tunes are very rudimentary.

Likely I'll be sticking with the F40, absolutely love that car. Have a JGTC livery on it as well for double nostalgia points.

I bet a Diablo or Vanquish would do well too with their torquey engines, that v12 especially.

Sorry I meant the Aston Martin vantage not vanquish

Now, THIS is what I call a race!

So much fun! I had P3 for quite a while, but I couldn't hold off Flugatto. In the end, both he and I had really good seats to watch the top 2 have a rip-roaring finish.

So happy to have a good, clean race, where I actually drove well too. Wish more races were like this.

Live race A decades challenge. 1960s through 2020s one attempt each.

Edit- I'm not even going to dignify this glitch with a response other than I'm done with making any content that involves lootube. I guess I will restart off stream and save each race for editing the highlights. No way I'm getting that done in the next few hours.

Exciting start, then had 5 laps of consistent times and gapped cars behind by 2 seconds and then on final lap, was presented with an opportunity to get a podium.

Could have easily opened up the wheel on the inside of the turn and tapped him onto grass to take the place but I'm not about that kind of racing. Still happy with P4 and clean race. He told me after he expected a nudge but I've been on the other side of it and it sucks so wouldn't do it to others!

Also had time to redesign my livery 🤣 The Farmalfa 155 🤣

Hey man, I remember your Nickname....I was racing with you yesterday afternoon or evening.
I was infront or behind you for a while in one of the races. I'm JP (nickname)

Nope, somehow it seems to have disappeared. I sent a new one.🍻
Yep. Accepted it this morning.

As an aside, I woke up this morning and immediately jumped into a race. Big mistake. After losing a few positions and obviously irritating the remaining people behind me, one of them chatted "Learn how to drive" or something like that. I agreed with him, and left the race. I guess I need a few laps before jumping into a race in the morning.

Ugh. As soon as I saw the list of dailies I had the exact same thought. I’ve had Elden Ring sitting around for months and it looks like I’ll finally have the opportunity to play it for a while.

You may be right on the wheel, but I’m not the only wheel user in the game. I’ve been watching the A lobbies and I still seem to be the only person going 8 laps on mediums (and I’m still getting killed!). I wonder if the load cell pedals makes a difference in how much I can control the wheel spin. I’m not doing anything that special in any races, so that could explain the rarity of my strategy despite my lack of speed or skill.
