Wow so I guess Ferrari it is then....oh the Renault RS 01 is an MR,I love that car
I tried to get the McLaren MP4-12C but I can't get the weight low enough and the horse power low enough. I am going in my De Tomaso Pantera with the Coyote engine.

I'm going to assume I just haven't found what is going to be the standout meta car for next weeks race A, but my testing has put every car in very close proximity to eachother. I have 5 that are within half a second (from 1:53.8 to 1:54.3).

If this balance holds up, race A is looking really good. I have a friend that has said the Pantera engine swap is strong but I haven't been able to get a tune for it that gets below the high 54s.

Next week’s Race A looks fun. Maybe I’ll see if I can use my Ferrari 458 Italia when it comes up. If I can’t get it to get to those metrics, then I suppose I could try using my Ferrari 308 GTB. I’d imagine that other potential cars would include the Porsche Cayman GT4, either iteration of the Lamborghini Countach, and the Toyota MR2. The last of which being a car that I think would be perfect for these regulations, but I haven’t bought one myself yet.

Of course, there’s also both the ‘92 and ‘02 iterations of the Honda NSX Type R, and a potentially notable presence of the famed Honda Beat with a K20 swap.

EDIT: That poster above me actually has a great idea - a Pantera with a Coyote swap. I happened to not only have a stock Pantera sitting around, but also TWO Coyote engines, so I suppose I could swap one of them in.

I almost feel a bit dirty to admit that I'm gonna miss race B. Never would have thought that I could have so much fun (and success) in the Alfa cup...

Even my first race back in DR A has unexpectedly been a pole-to-win. Under heavy pressure for two laps, then something happened behind me and I was 1.5 seconds ahead for the rest of the race (of course being nervous as hell anyways 😬).

An unexpected side effect of race B and a reason for driving some extra races has been that I had lots of CRBs which might have consolidated my SR a bit. A question to anybody who might know: is there a simple way to find out where my SR stands, which doesn't involve downloading half a dozen apps and using a super computer?

I'd love if PD included a progress bar for SR similar to the one for DR. Maybe that would make people care about it a bit and make some drive a bit more respectful?

Done a quick online lobby to test Daily C next week.
100% fuel save race with no pit stop. Pit stop on Catalunya is too long (35 seconds) to use the mediums.
Ran the Megane Trophy which was excellent on fuel. Short shift only but it’s too slow. Looks like the WRX runners were able to fuel save the whole race

I like using the Renault RS 01 it's also easy to save fuel with it's 7 speed transmission

Did same in the morning, nostopper on hards with fuel saving... Looks like WRX will be META for race, Alfa for quali

Omg I joined your lobby earlier to try and test some cars, started with the Swift and when the race came I was going into sector 3 and the car just started fishtailing under braking, I bowling balled half the field. I felt horrible.

I'll be staying away from that car.

I will miss Race C, had some extraordinary races there with mostly clean racing.

Of course playing the game again instantly reminds me why I have been mostly away the last few months. Every ticket earned yielded the lowest gift, after 20 minutes of racing my best payout was 10 times less than I can make by doing Sardegna.

Still it was great to race again..

You were in my lobby for a few races earlier, and as others have said you have no chance, i repeat NO CHANCE if you try a one stop. Dunno why RM are even a option, RS & RH would have (maybe) made it a better race.

Just before it ends Race A Decades Challenge highlights.

One race for a car from each decade 1960s though 2020s. 1960s Camaro, '70s Ferrari, '80s Corvette, '90s S2000, '00s Viper, '10s Supra, '20s 400Z.

Also I just gave it one more run and finished ninth worldwide in the Viper so I haven't practiced yet for the next Race A. Depending on how good I am at the new race I'll either upload my fastest lap for the ending race tomorrow or my new best lap and tune the next day.

On lates this week but hopefully can make some time for Monza, at least until the qualifying is set for the week. Catalunya as well with some tire wear can be fun, anyone doing it already, is it just a sprint to the end or is it worth a pit and running meds?

I read the rolling starts have been bunched up, has this helped the racing? Should at least make Monza starts more interesting.

Not expecting to have time to test tunes so Fuji might be out of the window, will see if there's something good online to use.

Yes I saw you enter that lobby. Then during the warm up my game crashed on me and as I got back into the lobby race already started.
I’m surprised that the Swift is unstable. What with a short wheel base I would thought it would be fairly stable, maybe just too heavy.

Might stay away from this race altogether. Not a huge fan of the fuel saving. Will give it a go but shall see after my first run. Last week was good in Gr3s as the fuel save option didn’t really lost you too much time. In my practice lobbies last night I felt slow compared to others around me

Yeah the rolling starts have been adjusted slightly, but the biggest difference is the start. You no longer have that issue of trying to judge when to upshift. Now all car are in 1st gear with low revs and they stick to the same speed until the lights go green. At Trial Mountain the other week I know the last few cars were still stuck on the corner when the race started.

I tried all 3 dailies.

Race A has the potential to be heaps of fun, but I wish people would take it in the spirit it’s intended and just drive some different cars. It’s already becoming a one make, one tune Cayman procession. I had plenty of enjoyment running an almost stock Ferrari 308 at the back racing with a Mangusta an MR2 and an NSX.

Race B is a Supra-fest with the usual Monza carnage. Fun in small doses

Race C is another boring fuel saver. Lots of people running the Alfa, but it’s no match for the WRX or the Slophy. I expect it will become a no stop procession in the Subie by Wednesday.

Ho hum.

You can't use it in this race though as that is a Gr3 car and the race is for Gr4. You have a choice of the Megane's though if you want to run Renault.

The i3 would certainly be a brave choice for that race. I'm sure that little AI did his best.
Don't underestimate it.

Until the main straight. Feel free after that.

Edit: BEAST MODE

Oh that's right.... whoops....my understanding from others is the Meganes to slow on the fast straights

I ran in A lobbies yesterday evening in Race C for maybe 6 races and didn’t die! In fact it was only a mixed A & B lobby that I got torpedoed. In the others I finished between P7 and P2 in different races. I’m now firmly ranked A/S (for now) and expect to run in mostly A lobbies. A couple weeks ago this was a hopeless proposition for me, but now I actually feel competitive even against A+ drivers. I’m not stuck at the end of a procession, and feel like I can work the strategy in my favor now.

I got to race just ahead of @Childe Roland in my last race. I have no idea how you ended up behind me, but hanging on for P5 felt like a real accomplishment. I was sure you were going to overtake me. I get the feeling that other driver was slowing you down in the fight for P6.

For what it’s worth, I’m shortshifting on RH for 5 laps and then running RM as hard as I can for the remaining 8. I tried starting in RM with the idea that better grip would help me stay on the track in all the traffic, but finishing on RH and trying to defend was too harrowing. I decided I’d rather finish on mediums and make up some places when I put and don’t refuel. I’m still not entirely sure and will still experiment with strategy, but for whatever reason this is one of those tracks that agrees with me.
You are fast, mate. If you keep maintaning that pace you will get to A+ sooner than you think.
This past weekend was such a nightmare for me.

First, because I hate gardens and also because in daily C we have the "pleasure" to race along the 2 biggest clowns in A lobbys for american servers .
They are just playing destruction derby and trying to take off the track everyone else.
I must admit that sometimes is kinda funny to watch both of them fighting each other till death but its sad when they ruin clean drivers races (which happens every race in wich they are involved)

Had no excuses for the race that you finished ahead of me.
You clearly had a better pace and I pushed much to hard on the second stint (mediums).
Last lap was an agony with no tyre wear basically.

Great races, hope to see you again.

My initial reaction to this week's races is disappointment. Huge disappointment. I may change my tune, later - we'll see.

Never been a fan of no DR/SR races, so race A is out for me. Plus having to use road cars with sport tires on that great track is sacrilege.

Race B is a really boring track to quali on. With my ADD, it would be a miracle if I could get a QT that even a "D" driver would be proud of. Long stretches for my mind to wander, followed by "oh crap - a chicane" to bring my focus back to the game, probably too late. And did I mention boring? Maybe I can turn on the braking areas so the flashing will wake me out of my stupor. That, and listen to an audiobook so I don't get too bored.

Race C makes me dizzy just thinking about it. My wrists are already hurting thinking about all the wheel turning. Doing that many laps on a track like that will have me reaching for the dramamine. I haven't even tried it yet, and I know I'll spend as much time getting forced off the track as I will planning revenge on the [expletive](s) who binned me.

I hope to come back here later and have to eat my words. But I'm not optimistic.

I love it when I'm able to guess the right go to car for any daily and it was the case for Daily Race A.

When I saw that Race A is going to be similar from last week I figured I had to start looking into which cars I should use for Race A and it rounded down to six cars.

The first option was the Alpine A110 because I already had it tuned so I only had to worry about fine tuning its suspension, differential, and downforce settings. Plus as a bonus I have this Burger King livery made by me before too.

Gran Turismo® 7_20220727180016.png

The second option then was the Honda NSX NA1 because a friend of mine shared a tune for me when he saw what Daily Race A is going to be. The third would be the GT by Citroen, fourth is the Porsche 911 GT1 Strassenversion, fifth is the Porsche Cayman GT4, and the last one is the DeTomaso Pantera because for the Pantera I wanted to run with an engine swapped car and the Pantera I got has its engine swapped with the Ford Coyote engine.

So I did some testing and turns out among the six the Cayman delivered to me the most because of the setup I hastily made which is just a copy tune from its Gr.4 equivalent.

As soon as Daily Race A got updated and did the race after doing some quali laps which I was able to get a 1:52.9, there I saw that I got it right on the gamble as the Cayman is the go to car for Race A.

I was able to get 3 wins for today as a result though I need to continue fine tuning this car and if I feel like I will be trying out the A110 as well for this race because I would love to run that race with the Burger King livery I made.
