@CCM284 how much are you lifting before the bump? So far my maneuvers have not caused anyone car instability, maybe some racing stripes...
Usually I lift to around 60-70% throttle if I'm second in line behind the leader and around 80% if I'm in the pack. The reason why I do it is to limit the chance of bumping someone offset which can cause them to shoot out of line. With how twitchy and spotty the connection can get, it is incredibly easy to misjudge a bump and ruin someone's race.
I was on the track with you yesterday. Good racing. 👍
I'll be on again, in a little bit. Hope to see you out there. I'll mostly be starting at the back as TPC_Vigilante.
It is nice when you can work with someone who is able to hold a steady line through the turns.
Yeah man, it was a blast! It's refreshing to see people share the same sentiment when it comes to oval racing.

Congrats on the new QT with no TC.

After reading all the posts today to you about turning off TC , I went and did the same thing! I also turned off Active Stability and counter steering. It took me most of the day to get the hang off it all and I lost a LOT
of my B rating to the point I almost went to C. My first 4 or 5 races I was starting 10th or less and was getting taken out by the crappy players. As I got more experience without TC I beat mt QT by 2 sec and was getting P7 or better starts. Even got my first podium in almost 2 months.

I want to thank everyone for the support you gave Gauge and by doing so helped others.
Now no TC with Gr3 is a whole different ball game :D
I haven't done any GR.3 racing since I switched to wheel from controller but I was doing really well with the 911 RSR and the Mercedes without Traction Control. The Merc does like to spin up the tires but honestly it's got so much grunt and low end torque that I can afford to feather the throttle. The 911 I can just hammer the throttle and not spin.

Maybe they'll be useful for you?

Had a close race from turn 1 of first lap. I dont care about wins, just want clean close racing.

Before the last corner I had a decent run on him. I noticed for the last 2 laps that I could brake later than him in most corners. So I went for this move and was planning on leaving him room on the outside racing line.

What do you guys think? Was this a clean move? What should I do differently to avoid getting punted like this?

Perfectly clean move and that person is an ass. Just have to try and keep it tighter to the apex so they can't push you to the wall.
They then only have the option to go that side themselves but you should have the better run to the line.

Has PD turned off the penalty banner in-race? For the past couple weeks, during a race, if a competitor gets a penalty, the red banner does not come up. It's messing with my Straw Tea Jury.

Make a pre-race threat. As soon as you get close, he will get anxious, and wreck himself.
It works pretty often. 👍
Not with this guy - I've tried it before. But that's OK - I feel better after a good night's sleep.
pro tip: don't do that.
second pro tip: go faster :D
LOL. "git gud".
I've found helps to clear my mind is if it looks like they've got a faster race pace than I do I just pull over and follow. I've found I can follow faster than I can lead and often times that lets me slip up the inside somewhere to take the win back.
That's actually a great idea, and also, I can learn from him how to drive the course faster. Awesome!
If that doesn't work I pop a few edibles and then go do the music rally or Daily A where I know I won't have an impact :D
Your mileage may vary
Was that pun intentional? ("impact")

Obviously a clean move, and the guy behind you is either a jerk, or seriously misjudged things. Or maybe he isn't a jerk - maybe he just overreacted to someone out-racing him. Not that I've ever done that, but I understand it has happened to other people.

Honestly, when someone beats me like that, I applaud them. I mean, seeing a great overtake is a thing of beauty, even if it happens to me. I usually yell out "Hey - teach me how to do that!" Oddly enough, nobody replies.

In my opinion your move was clean, you passed him before corner, then apex was yours...
Dont know how you can avoid getting punted like this🤷🏻‍♂️

Edit: on the second look, I know how to avoid getting punted like this, punt or be punted😉

I found myself in an early morning B lobby with AS to DB drivers after I finally got in the Alfa. My QT put me P6 and I was P3 early into lap 1, surrounded by mostly GTRs.

P1 and P2 were battling and I was trading places with a GTR for P3/P4 until the middle section when I finally got a gap on him. P1 and P2 were within striking as we headed into the last hard right before the bridge. P1 stayed inside, P2 took the outside, I braked early and stayed wide for the switcheroo, which I nailed. My exit speed was going to put me ahead for the next left and the bridge, and a single little blip from P1 would put me on their tailpipe.

P2, the A/S driver, did not seem to care for being passed - went quickly from the outside to the middle, sending me into a spin and t-boning the wall. I recovered for P5. It was a jerk move on P2's part and probably the most disappointed I have been in a race in a while, like the dropping an ice cream cone on the pavement. I was absolutely killing it that race - no contact and multiple position changes. I was driving smart, fast, and competitively and up until that point, I had yet to encounter a nuisance driver. Truth is, P2 may have been able to get me in the final turn after catching me on the straight. We were all close enough it could have been a photo finish after clean racing, but somebody's always gotta be trippin'.

Surprised nobody posted this yet!

Not a bad set. Those race A's both seem really good (and would be amazing races if they still had SR/DR)

Bathurst in GR.3 is going to be a bloodbath. It was bad enough when it was GR.4. Race B is where I'll be spending my time. Will probs be GT-R heavy, it was last time, but the WRX, Alfa, Lambo, and Maclaren will also be strong contenders.

And he didn’t get a penalty did he? This week and last week group 4 has basically been devoid of any contact penalties.

Turned off TC and managed a 3:22:3 which is about 1.7 seconds a lap faster than my previous qualifying time. Not only that, my race pace is much better. I am easily in the top 5 pretty much every race now. Got two podiums tonight as well, a 2nd place and a 3rd place. Still wish I could hit 3:20 even, I'll keep trying.
Ahhhh i was close, said near 2 seconds time loss with TC!

Guy is just a POS, nothing you can do.
@Tidgney ty for posting that. Knowing my qt time is only a second from being mid pack in A lobbies is very motivating. I’m so close! If I can get down to 3:19 something I could even compete for podiums :D
3.21 seems like a bit of a wall, i am stuck on 21.7 and my fastest friends are BARELY into the high 20's, like barely, and they are borderline A+ runners. So i think your lap right now is extremely competitive in high B, low A lobbies.

Trying to beat the META in daily race B 👀

I can't believe how bad the Veyron is. Like, I can understand it being a pig in the corners, but it's so slow on the straights as well. I mean, BoP this BoP that blah blah blah... it's got 16 cylinders and four turbos but gets smoked by a WRX. Just does not compute!

Looks like a race B week for me. I hate Bathurst with a passion.

That Ferrari is fun! Thanks for the heads up. But I can’t find the 2 seconds I need yet to beat my Porsche time.
Are you using the Ferrari at Suzuka? Just with you saying you can’t your Porsche time has me confuse as I didn’t think the Cayman was strong enough on Race B?

If you are on about Daily B then…
I tried the Ferrari yesterday and either the car suck (highly unlikely) or I suck 🤣

My best time was 3.26. I just can’t judge the speed of the 90 corners. Im either way too slow into them or I’m was to fast and go wide.

FYI I’ve not tried the Ferrari at Suzuka. I know how much of a death trap that think can be. Back end like to swap around a lot.

As for Daily C had some fun today.
Done a few races in EMEA & in US and I have to say all the races have been fairly clean. Only issue I had was in my first race.
1st race, someone didn’t like the fact I made a pass into T1, so they rear ended me to retake the position. Luckily I only lost 1 position, but then Lap 9 I had the last laugh when I saw then wipe themselves out at the hairpin. Also lap 9 I had a quicker car behind but defended fairly and then couldn’t pass. But lap 10 they clearly wanted P5 enough that they would launch it into the chicane and kill me. Finished P10.
2nd race a front runner had bad lag, went off in the S’s and when rejoining the car didn’t ghost them and took me off. Replay showed when he was rage quitting the auto drive put them back on track and obviously auto drive doesn’t ghost. Finished P7 in a mixed A, B lobby so was happy.
Moved to the Americas for a few.
1st race pretty solid P6, but had a funny moment entering the pits. Car in front somehow crashes in the pit lane and gets reset back on track.
2nd race mixed A+/B drivers and managed a P4. Had a A+ catching half a second every lap after the pits, and lap 9 they got a track cut penalty so could relax a bit.
Suzuka this week 👍🏻👍🏻 Might jump back on later for a few more to finish the week.

You hate to see it….but freebie

Them's fighting words.

If only there were some sort of penalty system to punish dirty drivers. I’m not sure if PD has considered this, but maybe it’s in the works for GT8?
:dunce:

I finally held on from Pole Position to win the race, which normally isn't a big deal, but for today, this is sweet. In my Christmas livery.

My story of Race C this week has been either chasing the car in front very closely, or barely keeping ahead of a tailgater.

Then I see them pit and realise they were on softer tyres the whole time.
