Meh for me. Have the GP, hate gr4. Guess it'll just be a bit of P1 (more like P12 for me though).
This is a hilarious, because I was going to mention this also, but thought I was already making myself look like a moron. Good to know there's other morons out there too.I even try to slip stream my ghost.....
I even try to slip stream my ghost.....
I always have my ghost run half a second ahead, so in almost every qualifying or TT I have that moment of recognition: "what the **** are you doing, bonehead?"🤣This is a hilarious, because I was going to mention this also, but thought I was already making myself look like a moron. Good to know there's other morons out there too.

I was going to say the same thing! I swerve to avoid contact with my ghost, cursing the idiot in front of me the whole time!I always have my ghost run half a second ahead, so in almost every qualifying or TT I have that moment of recognition: "what the **** are you doing, bonehead?"🤣
Catch up then and we may not have to.PD making me feel like I’m back in school.
”Yes we DO need to learn Road Atlanta and we will learn it EVERY WEEK until we do!”
?Seen it as early as
It's not because it's 4wd, it's because it's almost always a one make and no one seems to understand that other cars can't drive in the same specific way.I don't see any reason why passing with an AWD car should be any different to any other car, same principles apply. The issue is the Alfa makes it's time differently to the other two cars so guys are launching into a corner not realising the WRX and Nissan cannot enter at that speed.
TBH we see this a bit in Group 3 where the GTR has excellent turn in, the Supra is much stronger on exit (the GTR gets squirrely) so the GTR guys enter too fast and hit the Supra's who are lining up for the big exit.
MX-5 was also one make. It's not because it's 4wd, it's because it's almost always a one make and no one seems to understand that other cars can't drive in the same specific way.
FINE I WILL GO DRIVE IT RIGHT NOW JEEBUS CRISPSSo so close...

I'm more worried about getting the SR to A, but I bet I'm close.
Changing the subject, I have grown to love the V12 Vantage for Daily Race B:

I'm talking about actually using it in the race. I haven't beaten my best QT with it yet, although I've gotten close. But where it really shines, for me personally, is during an actual race.
It's got fantastic brakes. This makes it much more forgiving for people like me, who struggle to hit the braking points each and every time. One mistake doesn't lose you into the grass. I mean, it can of course, but if you realize you're coming in hot, you've got a great chance of slowing down quick enough to save the turn. I can't emphasize this enough - very forgiving, which for me is a must during a race. And it eats up the first corner.
It's plenty fast. You won't ever feel like everyone else has the fast car, and you picked a clunker. It'll gain on many cars right at the start. Sometimes enough to get side-by-side for the first turn, although I always back off at the last second. Still, it unnerves some people enough to cause them to lose it. And it's fast through the entire gear range.
The gearing is spot-on for this course, for me. I think the term is "shorter gearing", but I'm not positive. There are some turns on the back where I can come into them in 2nd, and have no problem upshifting to 3rd and stomping on it when I reach the apex. With other cars, I struggled to come in fast enough in 2nd (without overshooting the turn) so the switch to 3rd actually helped. Not with this car - it's Goldilocks ("just right").
The engine sound is awesome! Don't discount this - it's a subliminal thing. You know the last hairpin before the finish? When I have someone on my tail at that corner, once I'm around it and standing on the gas, the sound makes me say "Take THAT, sucker!" to the guy behind me. Of course, if he catches up, then it's not quite so much fun. But I'm telling you, the sound is like the sound you'd make when describing a fast car going by. I'm not saying that deep throaty engine sounds don't turn me on - they do. But something about this sound just encourages me.
I mentioned forgiving, but it's worth mentioning it again. If I get caught up in a dust-off, I can recover and get back into it very quickly. I'm usually trying too hard at this point, but the great brakes save me when I get too aggressive.
That's my opinion, and YYMV. But as soon as I started using it, my DR started rocketing up. Knock on wood, of course. (FYI: I use TCS 1)
Getting back to your question I have tried the '17 now:So are you saying the '16 is what you liked? Better than the '17?
I always have my ghost run half a second ahead, so in almost every qualifying or TT I have that moment of recognition: "what the **** are you doing, bonehead?"🤣
I used to follow my ghost in qualifying but found it to be more of a hindrance than help. Let me explain. My ghost would always be in the way of being able to see the apex clearly as I couldn't tell which car was mine. Now this may be because I use chase cam and it may not affect other camera views. But just the fact it was there would distract me.I was going to say the same thing! I swerve to avoid contact with my ghost, cursing the idiot in front of me the whole time!
I also ran the Lexus before. Then I bought the Hyundai GT3. And knocked.5 of my time.Getting back to your question I have tried the '17 now:

After 10 laps, I would have said that it drives the same as the '16 prototype. Feels maybe a bit less heavy, but that might have just been a momentary perception.
After 25 laps, though, I've been faster with it. 1:51:0, and still left some meat on the bone. Really a good car for that track. At least for qualifying. Actual racing, don't know, I've forgotten how to do that...😆
I have a button configured on my steering wheel that makes it easy to turn the ghost on and off. You have to turn it on in the settings first, but then you can turn it on and off during qualifying. It's a button right next to where my thumb usually is on the wheel, so I don't have to even think about where it is. So I just check it periodically during a lap. Otherwise, like you said, it can get in the way.I used to follow my ghost in qualifying but found it to be more of a hindrance than help. Let me explain. I quit using my ghost for this same reason. Plus, that driver is clearly an idiot. I don’t want to follow him anyway.I used to follow my ghost in qualifying but found it to be more of a hindrance than help. Let me explain. Now I just rely on the delta timing to determine where I'm gaining or losing time. Driving like this without the ghost has really helped me to become faster. Once I determine I've reached my limit than I'll follow a leaderboard ghost. This allows me to be more aggressive and make up that little bit of time I'm missing as I know that ghost isn't going to be in my way. And I'll now be close enough to learn the best way to drive the track. I know to method has definitely helped me and hopefully it may help some others.

Going to take me a while to get the hang of this one. I'm well off the pace, although I think my current "setup" is hampering me, the combination of a PS4 controller and using a big ole TV instead of a monitor is wreaking havoc with my brain. My senses and muscle memory are all out of wack.
tore my hamstring and had to go back to PS4 controller after a year on the T300RS-really struggling at getting as smooth as the rig, manual trans impossible to negotiate and at least 3 seconds off my previous times,so big thumbs up to those aliens out there on controllers.
Same here. Well, almost, as I use a controller. After I found out that I really don't use the handbrake in circuit racing that much (well, that was difficult to realise, right?😆), I swapped the function of the circle button for the ghost on/off.I have a button configured on my steering wheel that makes it easy to turn the ghost on and off.
