Are there any actual pp glitches for this one? Or is it all just 'legitimate' manipulation of pp with minimum front downforce and huge rake etc.

Shame we couldn't have one day of racing where everyone was on equal footing while trying to figure out a tune. Now most people can't even be bothered trying it cause the meta car seemingly isn't available for purchase.

Who knows, honestly.

I'm also in the maximum rake/no front downforce club, and I just got my best lap of 2:11.4...low 2:11 possible with this current setup, I need to figure something out with the suspension. I'm also running merely the height-adjustable one, because I'm on the limit with PP

Yes boys, it seems I may have found my calling

@Digital_Forces

Can't help but feel like I just beat a GTA mini-game but they all count

Agreed. I haven't even done one yet and I'm already bored with it. WRX fest again.
do what i do & choose your favourite car & stick to it, you may not be the fastest in the GT world but if you keep posting times in your favourite car, you will be matched with people in WRX’s doing roughly the same lap times as you so its possible to win a few races in a ‘non-meta’ car 😉

posting my setup for the Sileighty. There’s more pace than the 2:12.6 I ran. Rev it to the moon in 3rd to avoid hazing the tires in 4th on corner exit.

Had a lot of fun in Race C last week.

I just got my main account back to SR S over the weekend after a week of bump drafting.
At my level of racing Deep Forest is a very um flighty aggressive race so I ain't running my main in that. Look like race B on my alt account this week

I am sure some folks are going to enjoy race C but I won't be one of them. Tuning ain't my thing at all and honestly can't even be bothered looking one up.

Might give race A a few goes for giggles.

I might get an occasional good race B instead of the bloodbath I expect but not that hopeful.

The top tune for the Sileighty doesn't have an engine swap, not sure why people keep saying that it does.
I didn’t think it had a swap in the game at all, unless I’m mixing up my Silvias

Can you silence someone who honks his horn during a race? I just had a race at Deep Forest, and this guy honked all during the race. When he was on my tail ending lap 4, it drove me crazy and I tried to silence him the old-fashioned way, which of course ended up in disaster for me, which is probably just what he wanted.

If he's in my next race, I'll try turning down all other engine sounds (or whatever the option is), to see if that helps.

For some reason, someone honking just drives me absolutely crazy!!

"honk" (too soon? haha)

Happy Monday everyone.
I haven't entered the fray in Race B, yet.
I did come to really enjoy Race C last week. My first time bump drafting, and it was impressive how much more speed you could add.

I just had a go at Race C. What a refreshing change of pace. I loooove it. I'm using the Sileighty tune by @Mistah_MCA (Huge thank you by the way). Currently 43 overall with a 2:11.466. No A+ drivers in the lobbies so far, people don't seem to like this one very much.

As much as I was not liking last week's race C, not being a fan of Circuit de La Sarthe doesn't help, I really love this one. I, for one, would like to see more street cars in race C, but without the PP breaking glitch. Stock street cars would be awesome like the Porsche Cayman GT4 from the TT on sports hards is so fun to drive. I'd love to see a combo like that for a Race C. One can only hope, in the meantime, I'm gonna enjoy this one while it lasts.

The fact that the fastest tunes all have 100mm of rake to be fast makes me seriously question the reality of the physics in the game..

I have an s13, and ive also had to run seized coilovers on the rear for a week whilst my others werw rebuilt which resulted in crazy rake and the car was truly awful to drive.. I dont understand how the racing simulator has physics thats results in this.

For whatever it's worth, after I posted my tune with the high rear downforce for Suzuka I figured out the glitched setup that seems to be fastest overall but I'm about a second faster with my original setup. It's a bit slower on the straights and doesn't have racing brakes but it is way more stable plus having the low rpm turbo most likely helps low speed acceleration. I will try various other glitched tunes later but no matter what PD really needs to fix the pp system or just revert it back to GT6 calculations.

I think this might be the week I make a EMEA account so I can race with the Europeans. This will give me something to do (aka play 1P to unlock Sport and Nord for the CE) since this week's Dailies don't really interest me.

For those who have an account on the other side of the sphere, typically speaking, how is the connection? Obviously this is a multi-variable question, but just looking for a general consensus/experience.
I race as Buzzie over there and I get 3 bars vs 4 here in the states

I’m with you. I can’t understand why PD would offer custom tuning races, only to set things up so that turning a car into a straight line dragster is the winning strategy. How is this realistic? Maximum rake and no downforce shouldn’t allow a car to make it through turn 1, let alone set the fastest lap.

I used to like the tuning races, but they’ve turned into cartoons. I appreciate all the work you put in, and I’m always half tempted to try the tunes, but in the end it just feels like a contest to see who can game the system with the better glitches. Creating theoretically undriveable car tunes, only to have them set the hottest laps, doesn’t feel like circuit racing to me. It feels like drag racing. I can’t understand how less downforce makes for faster turning, especially at this track.

Not to insult your fun. I love hearing about your adventures.

Nice milestone: I reached DR A tonight. Had a good run on Le Mans last week. Managed a decent quali on Deep Forest 1:33.7 today and got a string of top 5 results.
Quite happy about it
Congratulations on your A! I'm so, so close and have also been on Deep Forest tonight but wow there are some sad drivers out there and in my last race I got rammed sideways on purpose because some 'insert whatever you see fit' didn't like to be overtaken fair and square..... Fingers crossed for tomorrow..... and one day I might see you in an A race :)

Well, I went ahead and made a British account. I almost forgot how annoying this game is when you start from scratch: the forced music rally only allowing a controller to drive; the endless babble from all of the characters; smashing the X button so many times I almost broke my controller trying to get through it all; not having access to anything.

After like two hours of X smashing and boring AI races, I unlocked Sport Mode. Quickly set a time in the TT (13.3 if I recall) since that account is broke. Figure I need to do some races to get my DR and SR up as they came in at E|B.

I forgot what it's like to be in the lowest of low lobbies but my word. So many drivers were D|E. I was trying to give some people the benefit of the doubt, but after looking some had hundreds of races logged. One guy had over 400 races and was an SR of E. Like, that takes work.

Anyway, just looking forward to getting my five or eight or whatever races in so my DR|SR start moving in the right direction. I am going to work on it over the next weekish... if any of you in the eastern hemisphere see Talon3 in a lobby, say "hi."

The fastest times aren't running low downforce, it's the opposite, they're exploiting a hole to get as much downforce as possible.

The PP exploits aren't really in the same vein as "make undriveable car, but it has crazy power" like it was at launch. The car tunes drive perfectly well - that's the point of them, the PP exploits now are trying to make it so that it drives well whilst being under the limit.

Though yes, I do agree it's stupid it's still a contest to find what random combination of parts drops your PP by 150 so you can run high downforce and racing brakes. Weird game.

Nissan Sileighty '98 - 600PP - Sport Soft Tires - Race C Suzuka - 1.27
This is just a quick tune , my car is a wide car so i don't know if the normal is more performant. I don't know how the pos 1 is so fast , but my car is more grippy , must be better for the race.
I have a low 2:11.2xx for the moment , it's a good time for my level of driving skills . Let see if i find another option tomorrow.

I just got my first GT7 win using this tune, so thank you for sharing!

Running this setup in my 180sx since I don’t have the sileighty some how. Wish I had a 6spd tho.

Tuning isnt bad, PP is bad. If you take away PP, then there is no incentive to make stupid non-realistic changes to the car in order to exploit it.
Since they removed suspension and gearboxs settings from the PP system, what is there actually left that can be exploited?

I havent tried because I would rather not. But it appears the meta setup is gaining down force by adding unrealistic rake because it doesn't change PP. Where if you add down force the appropriate way using aero, then you get punished.

I had no idea I could loathe something as much as I loathe GR.4 at Deep Forest. But WOW do I hate this combination. I don't grok the circuit, my preferred car handles like a drunken actively burning dumpster, and I can't be bothered to care enough to learn how to do better.

Hopefully next week has something more fun/interesting/less horribad.

I can see how, if you are fast here and start up front, that it's a fun circuit to drive. But being mired in the back and not really having potential to move up or get faster without spending hours practicing is not my cup of tea. Would rather SL1 Dark Souls No Pyro

First race C today using Digit's tune from YT (actually can get that car) and reminds me of the racing in the Mazdas on Road Atlanta. Much prefer this race to both of last week's. Someone said that there could be dynamic weather as well? Not sure if anyone has run into it.

I think I'm going to be racing in Daily Race A this week. So far I like the BAC Mono. It's a TCS3 car to tame it's tail happy nature but with TCS3 you can still slide it but you don't lose it..

I did three races.
  1. The first I started 2nd and took 1st on the first corner, but then lost that on the 90 degree left hander to slip to 5th. Eventually I worked my way back up to finish 2nd.
  2. The second I started 3rd and ended up 2nd again, gaining one spot.
  3. The third I started 2nd again, took 1st on the first corner and then drove it like a time trial trying to ignore the cars behind me. Being in the lead is kind of new to me. Each time before my nerves had got to me and I messed up to lose the lead. This time, while the nerves were definitely there, particularly on the last lap where I was trembling a bit as I made a slight error on lap 5th allowing 2nd to catch within 1.5 seconds of me, I held it together to take the win!

Please tell me that now I have my first daily race win, it gets easier from here..
