Hey @Leon Kowalski

Not sure if it counts as I was playing around with my 2nd account and accidentally set a Race B time faster than your and my own times 🤣🤐

Good luck. I honestly don’t know how they’re braking so late into T1! I mean, it can be done if you’re prepared to come to a near standstill before turning, but that’s horrible race strategy. I honestly think they’re counting on no penalties and just driving too aggressively.
I brake hard and round the corner around 48mph. And I still haven't been divebombed even after famous last words, but I jist got divebombed on T5 if you can believe it.

That is fast! I go slower to line up for the straight which is a fast exit line for TT but yours is safer for racing 100%

I aim to be as wide and coasting for turn in to the straight as possible and defo compromise the first corner for exit to the straight.

Hugely quick. Respect!

What's considered fast?

I just looked at a replay of a ghost that I'm trying to learn the line from (for the Lancer) and they actually dropped to 46mph, whereas on a replay of one of my races, depending on traffic, I corner anywhere from 45 to 50mph at the slowest point lap to lap.

I guess at the end of the day, corner speed is not so important in an actual race where there are other cars involved but exit speed and the total time from point A to point B. Not sure what those points are though..

Having spent a few days enjoying Race A, I thought I'd try Race C to see if it lived up to all the horror stories.

My poor QT put me 14th on the grid, ahead of two non-qualifiers. To my amazement I managed to keep the car on track for the whole 10 laps, and even remembered to switch from medium to soft tyres!

I finished in 6th place, and can't help wondering how much better I could have done if I'd also remembered to use the overtake button......😆

Oh I believe it. People are trying to do that stuff all out with no lifts. Just bad racing! It feels quick but it sets up all the wrong lines. So if you get in the way of their hot lap, too bad for you.
:banghead:

Dare I say it?

The penalty system actually works (most of the time) for Super Formulas at Suzuka.

Frustrating as it can be when someone slams the anchors up the esses, or panics around Spoon, and you pile into the back of them and receive a 2/3 second pen. It sucks, but it's on you.

Likewise when somebody misjudges the braking point at the hairpin and you end up in the gravel, satisfying to see them hit with a penalty.

I'm sure I'd be singing a different tune if there were walls everywhere. We all know how that ends.

He actually apologized the next race - he said he lost control, and looking at the recording I kept, I believe him.

I just want to say that it's not ok to make an inside pass at turn 8 (Degner) of Suzuka...maybe it's not dirty, but it's still not ok. It's pretty much impossible to make that turn in the outside lane, and by the time you see the overtake coming, you are already committed to the inside line speed. Be nicer...

3 wins at Lago Maggiore today, all starting from pole position. (Because that's the only place I can win from from which I can win? Stupid grammar.) This one's a trifecta:

And... here I go again, about to return up to the lower dregs of DR A:

Details on how this information was obtained can be found here, but it's boring.

Very nice. I can position myself in 7th but end up crashed off the course by the end.

Race C is a lot of fun if you can make it past the first two laps.

I'm still not sure why some people don't use TC on the start. I've been able to make up a few positions each time.

Only downside of C is the intensity is to much for multiple races in a session...for me anyway.

Race B has me finishing up the Human Comedy missions.

I’m about to meet you, coming the other way. After a disastrous Nations Cup today I’m nearly back down to B. But I think that may be good for me for a while, just to hit a mental reset button. The stress has been killing me with the “stay A at all costs!” crowd.ile you, may be happier in the high Bs again.

Well, I gave race B a shot, but I'm not enjoying the track at all. Some of the transitions from section to section I can't fully figure out. It's enough to make a lap, but not enough to give me confidence in racing others. I don't know where a 1:19.7XX would even get me on the grid in B lobbies. I did set my fast time in the Mustang with the Vantage a tenth of a second behind that. Oh well, not the end of the world if I don't race this week. I'll wait and see what version of Maggiore we get next week lol.

One thing I did that helped, when setting the VR playspace, I lean forward quite a bit then set the area. That way the diameter of the safety barrier is wide towards my feet.
I don't think that makes a difference as it's the cockpit width that matters. Not good as you go round the long left after the esses and the screen slowly fades to black.

I had to put in about 20 minutes of lapping to place 7th on the starting position. It’s a hard track for sure. You will most likely be rear ended or pushed off track, so you might as well try and have fun doing it.

the only way I finished the Human Comedy mission there was when the pit lane bug existed. I used that opportunity to cheese it because it sucked that much trying to do it regular.

Well, I just found out why my driving was all over the place this week, in that all my braking was completely off, and all the cars seem to be sliding out of me.

Well, I found out that my brake pedal calibration was off and it was going from a dead spot of 10% to full braking at 20%. Don’t know how that happened. So every time I touch the pedal it was like I was applying an emergency brake; not good . I’ve now got it recalibrated and I can actually drive again, so that’s good

I’m going to try race C let’s see how that pans out…

Side note. When you press the nitrous button is there any indication it’s working? My button is mapped but I can’t say I notice or see anything.

this seems to be the case, just went and checked real quick. Definitely not (no indication) in qualifying.
I just raced and it was there. Just not QT.

Well I came last. P15. Crashed out, spun out and pitted twice. Also got lapped.

When I was in the flow it felt pretty good. Need to figure out strategy. I was going for 2M, 8S but I burned through the soft in 5 laps. Perhaps they could have lasted but as I crashed into the pit lap I figured I’d change again. 🤣

Fun in a mad way but hazardous to DR.
