I'm glad PD gave us race A with Gr.4 this weekđź‘Ť...because I can't stand super formula cars that would make me look like a noob and ruin my DR+SR.

Still. Why is it so hard for them to make Sport mode races with all kinds of production cars in the game???
We have so many but 99% are unused. I wanna be able to use those F40, XJ220, 959, Carrera RS, 911 901, 911 930, Merak, GT40, GTO '84, RS Turbo, Countach, Miura, Stratos, Pantera, 512 BB, 308 GBT, Dino, A110, etc etc etc....
And no monobrand.

The first few corners of Race B are utter carnage! It's almost a curse to be on the front row of the grid as you are almost guaranteed to be punted. I am enjoying the races which are clean but some races are insanely dirty, mostly because some people can't handle the car.

As my bank holiday plans cancelled this morning I thought I'd actually do a few dailies this afternoon.
Well it bit me on the ...

Race 1: Daily A.
I qualify P5 or 6. The guy ahead steamrolls into Druids but only taps a few. I managed to get alongside out of Graham Hill and have the inside for Surtees. They show their lack of awareness and take the corner as if I wasn't there. We bounce off each other. I spin into the barriers at McLaren whilst they are able to straightline it to Clearways. The car pirouettes whilst trying to recover. I manage to catch and pass another poor sod who has had an incident only to bin it out of Graham Hill. Back to DFL. At least I wasn't lapped.

Race 2: Daily C.
It is only when checking the race info waiting for the grid countdown do I see that Mediums are available so my qualy of P12 on hards is too slow. I do well in the race and thanks to incidents and liking Spa I'm up into 7th only for the game to error and I'm thrown out of the race with 1 lap to go. I note that the tyre wear is not too bad.

Race 3: Daily C.
I improve my qualy time now that I use the meds. My brain ceases to function and I go for meds in the race as they should be able to last the distance.
I'm still only 9th on the grid and thankfully the last through the chicane when it releases so I have a good run with no pressure from behind. Throughout the race I seem to have a relatively good pace and work myself up to P3. Only on the last lap does my brain unfreeze and let me know. Hards are mandatory...
Gordon Ramsey Idiot GIF

I know the 1 min penalty is coming but would I come last as the field is spread enough?
I do and deservedly so.

Race 4: Daily C.
Time to make up for it. I shave some more time off my time and am yet still only 9th.
Race is similar to the last run. I make up lots of positions and find myself 3rd going into the last lap. I should have a defensible position to the former leader who had to pit (and who is fast) but the car has other ideas. The tyres engage ice mode and I'm understeering everywhere. And then out of Stavelot the car snaps (I've driven it more agressive with no issues, just bizarre!) I try to hold it but it is barrier bound. I loose 1 place and then another on the run up. A third car just catches me at Blanchimont. I make them go the long way around and they go wide enough to get a penalty. However they come back and ram me a few times spinning me into the last chicane. Down to 7th but a load of people who it must be their first race of the day make the wrong tyre choice and I am promoted to 4th at the line.

A really frustrating afternoon.

The rewards in Sport Mode is an insult, it would almost be better if it wasn't any rewards...
There are rewards? I totally forgot that there are rewards. That's how little relevance they have to the game, for me.

This is the discussion thread for an article on GTPlanet:

Gran Turismo 7 Daily Races: Mayday

The latest set of Gran Turismo 7 Daily Races, consisting of three new races running for the next seven days, is now available...
Please forgive my inability to figure this out on my own, but is there a URL or something I can use when I want to see the Daily Races articles like the one above? I mean, of course I can click on the above link, but if I don't have the link, where should I go or how should I search for it? Thanks.

All GT7 Daily Races articles are posted with the GT7 Daily Races tag:

And in the Gran Turismo 7 category:

And just scrolling down the main site home page will get you there, eventually, depending on how interesting a week it is and how far after Monday you are:

Also you might all have noticed that @ChazDraycott has recorded a YouTube video for this week's Daily Races - the first of many!

Hi everyone! Just asking... have anyone else lost SR since update? I´ve come from SR S to SR B after 2 days of being unable to play since 1.32 update... Trying to get to S, but being again on B after S it´s like playing Destruction Derby...

On summary (sorry for my brutish english) I´ve lost 2 ranks just from being unable to play.... :(

You won't lose any ratings at all from not playing. You only lose SR for being in races and going off track/hitting things/being hit by things, or for quitting or disconnecting from races.

Oooooooof. Got more penalties at T1 in 4 Race B's last night than I've got in the past 2 months.

Good fun once it opens up, but T1 is stupendous concoction of people braking too early or too late. Nearly impossible to get through unscathed. Let's see how long my SR S lasts...

Seems unfair to have SR penalised for going off track. The in game penalty is enough, and you’re not ruining anybody else’s gameplay.

Sportsmanship Rating is literally a measure of whether you can drive on the grey bit and keep your car the same shape. If you don't do those things, whether it's your fault or not, you'll lose SR.

It's also independent of penalties.

Well we obviously have different ideas on what good sportsmanship is as to me it’s the respect you show to your fellow competitors.

Being unskillful fits under the DR umbrella to me.

I'm back after taking last week off for a mental reset. I'm trying race C and I feel like I have no pace at all. I'm in the GT-R '18 and I just feel slow. Granted, it's my first time with the car so I don't know the limits of it yet. I can't drive the Supra at all, way to much over steer for me to handle. The Alfa was nice and stable like Tidgney said in the Weekly Race Guide, but I'm almost a second off my best time in it. I'll keep plugging away and see if I can't find some time with more practice.

I was excited to see how B race would go but definitely intimidating getting into that first race. Doing QT laps is a lot of fun but putting it together in the race environment isn’t quite the same.
Got quite a few laps in and decided to try it out once I had a 1:23.3 to see where it would put me.

First race started p9 and T1 went well and didn’t see any carnage.
Overall it was a really intense tight race with clean overtakes and running on the limit for the full 6 laps. Finished p7 and the adrenaline was on high after that one.

Took a small break and came back to give it another go before the evening was over. A few more laps and qualified with a 1:23.1 waiting for the next race.

Second started p8 so a little better and once again T1 was not a mess and I came out of it in p6 Got 2 more overtakes done before the chicane so up to p4 on the first lap. Stayed on p3 for an until about lap 4 and he gapped me while chasing down p2. I held the gap behind ne unit lap 5 when I had someone closing in but not in time to take the place.
Super excited to get p4.

This is a race where VR is totally immersive. Watching the front tires get placed right where you want them on a curb or just inside one is a blast.

I’m sure it will get tougher as the week goes on but I’m glad to have tried it after hearing horror stories of losing SR and demolition.

Looks like it Daily C for me this week. Usually B but if I want to race F1 style cars I'll play F122. Is C really a straight out run hards till the end?. No pits needed?

A looks like a decent track and combo but I need a DR reward (or punishment!) to keep the motivation.

Yes. A no strat Supra and GTR fest. Now where have we seen that before...?

I haven't expressed my "ideas on what good sportsmanship is"; I'm telling you how GT7's Sportsmanship Rating works. How either of us think it should work isn't relevant.

Yeah the Supra's and GTR's ar the META like always. But to be fair, I like the new Merc too. It's lacking some topspeed at Kemmel straight, but I like it in the corners. And sometimes it's nice to race something that is not META.

I would imagine with the Toyota Gazoo Racing Cup that Toyota is a pretty heavy sponsor... No question why the Supra is the Meta in the game. They could easily balance the cars, but they don't.
The Supra didn't help me, I had better luck with the GT-R 2018, which got me a 3rd place.

I did 2 Race C: the first one quite lousy (started 10, ended 10), the second one quite good (started 6, seen the 2 spot but then I did a stupid mistake costing 1s penalty and 2 positions)

The main takeaway for me is that I'm too gentle on the wheels (read: I drive slow :dunce:) as I don't have tyre weare issue at all, finishing with about 1/3 of the rubber avaiable.

I recognized this in the first race, and tried to improve in the second one, but still I am nowhere near risking to finish the race on the ice.

This may be a (half) good news here, but is a disaster in races where tyre wear is not an issues / is not activated. In those cases I leave secs on the track for free

Thanks for the answer, Famine !

Sadly (for me) I can´t add any proof since I don´t record all footage, but the case is as I mentioned. 1.31 B/S, 2 days after 1.32 B/B WITHOUT playing. I´m the kind of driver who will absolutely let you pass if I have the sensation that I could hit you even having the apex and I don´t quit races.
Not trying to disagree with you, only mentioning my experience.
Thanks again, everyone!

Did a few more practice qualy laps at Fuji and tweaked wheel settings a bit and improved by a tenth to get a 1:22:5.

Tried following the tips and ghost replays by shifting down more but was not going anywhere. I seem to be consistent when short-shifting or staying in high gears.

Anyways, here's the lap.
