Thanks for the answer, Famine !

Sadly (for me) I can´t add any proof since I don´t record all footage, but the case is as I mentioned. 1.31 B/S, 2 days after 1.32 B/B WITHOUT playing. I´m the kind of driver who will absolutely let you pass if I have the sensation that I could hit you even having the apex and I don´t quit races.
Not trying to disagree with you, only mentioning my experience.
Thanks again, everyone!
It's likely then that - and it sometimes happens - your game simply didn't update your ratings locally after your last race in 1.31. When you first logged in on 1.32, it did.

I don't really care about what cars are "meta". It doesn't matter if a certain car is the fastest or the best on a certain track if you can't drive it better than what you normally drive. I will almost always stick with what I like over what is "better". I find it a massive achievement to hone my skills to the point of beating those "meta" cars.

Others experience are not going to be the same as mine, especially at the higher lobbies. But this has been my feelings on the matter, racing my way into the A lobbies.

Me and that slow but stable Peugeot RCZ, GR3 or GR4.... not the best in any way, but easy to drive and quite forgiving!

I'm glad PD gave us race A with Gr.4 this week👍...because I can't stand super formula cars that would make me look like a noob and ruin my DR+SR.

Still. Why is it so hard for them to make Sport mode races with all kinds of production cars in the game???
We have so many but 99% are unused. I wanna be able to use those F40, XJ220, 959, Carrera RS, 911 901, 911 930, Merak, GT40, GTO '84, RS Turbo, Countach, Miura, Stratos, Pantera, 512 BB, 308 GBT, Dino, A110, etc etc etc....
And no monobrand.
Shuffle

I'm leaning towards Race B being 'undrivable' I've never got through turn one unscathed. Rear end shunts galore. For such a wide track, players just struggle to give space! I think half know that turn 2 is a lift off and the other half brake so you have wild variations in speed going through there. If you can launch away from the midfield then it settles down into a somewhat normal race.

Fuji feels like far too technical a track (despite the mile long straight) for most players, myself being one of them! The off camber turns just scramble my brain! Would have preferred a well trodden simple track like the Red bull Ring or imo Dragons tail to have raced instead. Disappointing as we rarely get super formula as a weekly! Last Superformula I remember being Autopolis and was far better racing there!

yeah, my first race monday afternoon in the SF, someone didn't get the memo that you don't brake in turn 2. Oh boy, I absolutely sent them into another dimension! Three sec penalty, deserved, I guess. Then lap 2 I get another for a yellow that I can't recall seeing. But next race, later in the evening, the top 5 of us outran the riffraff and had a pretty good race.

Please don't brake at turn 2....(probably no one here needs to hear that)

Just did my first actual race B on my second account and oh my, it was crazy!!

Started in P8 and I selected the TC control panel but forgot to actually activate it 🫣 So I immediately went sideways as soon as the lights turned green 🤣

Managed to straighten up and already down to P12 before I get to turn 1. Of course, last place driver smashes me and 3 others and with damage, I'm now in P14 after less than 10 seconds of racing... 🤐

However, between other drivers making mistakes and me keeping cool, I crossed the finish line in P5 🎉

I also put some more effort on my main account and improved to a 1:22:3 so will try a race later on.

Race B is a blast, I've loved the SF19 car for months and have been really enjoying the SF23 car so far. I don't do sport mode races often (D DR S SR currently) but this is starting to pull me in :)

Did two races yesterday, didn't make it through lap 1 unscathed and got a false start + spun terribly twice putting me in last position, but decided to keep trying and despite probably being 8s back is (can't see gap in VR), climbed to P13. Was determined to do better the next race, got a low 1:24 in qualifying between races which threw me at P2 starting on the next race, was in 1st the whole race from T1 and finished uncontested with a 3.5s gap. Felt great after that haha, gonna get more races in today.

Is it best to enable TC for grid starts to avoid spinning? I don't use it mostly, but guess it does help probably with a start in these cars.

I’m staying away from Race B, I’m not into Fuji and for my driver rating (B) I just don’t think it will be a successful exercise.

Race C however I’m loving - meta or no meta, Spa is a very raceable track and is long enough and technical enough for most cars to have strong points. Supra is great in a straight line but sketchy in the turns and burns through tires - I tried it but it just doesn’t instill any level of confidence. Have raced it, the GTR and my normal 911 and between people forgetting to swap off the mediums and the folks dropping it or hitting each other, it seems pretty easy to have a good run and make up places without trying to dive into every gap like last week. Consequently I’m taking the chance to repair my SR from A back to S and enjoying racing at the same time!

Fair enough, for you. But the Supra and GTR18 are the METAs. It may not be as apparent in the lower lobbies but the car itself will make a difference, especially in the higher lobbies.
And between those 2 (Im having a blast with the GTR18 after the last physics update) in Kemmel its impossible to hold the supras and its also impossible to catch them on slipstream. You can get close but once you move off the slip to make the pass, it turns into a drag race where the Supra always wins.

I know it was said a thousand times here but the Supra really needs a nerf wich I suspect we wont see in a near future.

Highly suggest you run TC1 for the start and race, just about guarantee you will be faster.

No way, another driver from Malta and we have literally the same qualifying time :) So annoying that we can not race this olympic esports time trial…

I haven't expressed my "ideas on what good sportsmanship is"; I'm telling you how GT7's Sportsmanship Rating works. How either of us think it should work isn't relevant.
It is relevant because this is a discussion forum in a thread for Daily Races and I’m providing my thoughts on the ratings of the Daily Races.

If you quit a race, your DR/SR doesn't get updated until that race is over. So it could be that the last time you looked at your DR/SR, it was right after you quit a race, so it hadn't been updated yet. Obviously the next time you turned it on, the race was over so your DR/SR would have been updated.

Race B is actually pretty fun; thankfully, as it's the only one I am even a little bit interested in this week. Best quali time so far is a 21.3 but there is so much more there. I am still not sure of some of the lines and gears at this daggum track, especially in the Formula car. The couple races I've done have been relatively clean and pretty entertaining.

Sad this is, they actually did Nerf the Supra in the recent 1.32 update. They took away 5 hp and 5 ft-lb of torque dropping it a whopping 2.2 PPs. Even after that loss of power, it's still OP.

I mean you're objectively wrong here though. Going off track is more unsafe than not going off track and you have a greater potential to negatively impact someone elses race by rejoining unsafely, or sliding through the grass, or otherwise doing something random/unpredictable than you do when you're on the track, hence going off track costs safety rating.

Man, I was about to post the opposite. Race B is the dirtiest sloppiest racing I've had since GT7 started. But I love the SF cars, so it's on to the alternate account for me. Then I can just have fun racing thru the pack after someone dumps me.

The ratings are not exclusive to, nor inclusive of, Daily Races. One of the three Daily Races does not (usually) affect DR/SR, while other Sport Mode events - GT World Series, Toyota Gazoo Racing GT Cup - do, and determine matchmaking more directly.

But what you think of it, or how fair it is, or what my thoughts are on sportsmanship (which I didn't pass, but you opposed anyway) isn't relevant to the fact that this is how it is. No amount of not accepting that fact matters; it's been this way since GT Sport launched in 2017 (and before, in the Beta test) and remains that way today.

DR is solely determined by your race finishing positions: a straightforward exchange of points between you, the people you beat, and people who beat you, scaled according to the relative difference in points between you. Quitting or disconnecting from races will see you automatically placed last (of the remaining cars) and lose you DR to everyone left in the race.
SR is solely determined by whether you can stay on the track and neither contact nor be contacted by other cars or solid objects. Or quit (or are disconnected from) races.
Penalties don't directly affect either rating, though what occurred in order to attract a penalty may well affect your SR and the time lost serving it may well affect your finishing position and thus DR. Sufficient penalties may also see you booted from the race, losing DR and SR as noted above.

I think we were in a race together. I jumped on my 2nd account as I wasn't sure what to expect and accidentally set a decent quali lap (21.6 I think it was). I thought I recognized the name but didn't get a good look. Your car blue and orange? I think you left the race before it was over, assuming you got homicided!

Wait... Am I reading this correctly?! A "simple" 1:21:3 ?! A full second faster than my time on the absolute limit of my peasant-grade G29?!

Ok I've got two theories:

1: What brand performance enhancing drugs are you consuming and where do I buy them from?

2: You are an AI which is miles ahead of Chat GBT. Are you SkyNet? Are you why John Connor is always afraid?!

Be honest, which one is it? I don't believe an option 3 exists! 🤣

Well I’m more thinking of a scenario where you slightly cut a corner, in particular turn 2 at Fuji. You get your penalty, which in turn affects your DR from losing places, and then also affects your SR. So you cop a triple penalty.

As per my original comment I think the penalty is unfair. I’m not disagreeing with the fact that GT7 considers its bad sportsmanship.

1) No comment

2) Well, this is my helmet and suit on said 3rd account.

I didn't think it was that great of a lap. I think we are friends on that account? Anyway, I was in a race with a Greek guy that had a 20.7 so it's all relative I guess.

Took me about 100 miles of driving to get a 1:21.2, so keep yer chin up - it can come!

I'm feeling much more comfortable with the GT-R at Spa. I'm currently sitting at a 2:19.2XX and I think I can get to a 2:18 with more practice. I'm still on the throttle too early at times and losing time there. Still a bad habit of mine from forever ago. Hopefully I can have a few nice races tomorrow.

Lol. Ya, that would be me. Surprised I didn't notice you, I usually check pretty well. I got intentionally run off track, so I blasted the guy in the next corner and quit...🤬. I typically keep my cool, but Race B just brings out the worse in me. Race B just seems way dirtier than Race C every time I try it. I went to the alternate account after that race, and ironically had a couple decent races.

Tried both the Mustang and RX in races today. RX wants to kill you after Rivage and just in general. Mustang is a little finicky through Eau Rouge but it's a much more fun car. Nothing like a V-8 grunt. Setting 2:22s in race but getting stuck in lobbies with reject A drivers and their B driver ratings.

First race with RX I took myself out by getting on the throttle at Rivage and ended up 15th on lap 2. Due to people pitting (lol), crashing and two dudes who apparently didn't get the memo that hards are required I managed to get back to 8th. 2:19.1 with the RX right now but I'm trying to find out where more time is. Wish Spa had just one more checkpoint. Only two.
