Turning Gran Turismo into Wreckfest is a waste of everyone's time, you can just go play Wreckfest if that's what you want.
Funny thing- I used to play Wreckfest multiplayer before arriving at Gran Turismo 7 Sport. A lot of lobbies with special cars disallowed in Wreckfest tend to be cleaner, because no one likes wrecking their cars in T1 and retiring early/limping to finish line for multiple laps.

Aww man, why did PD have to go and ruin the Nurburgring daily by adding dynamic weather! I've been waiting for what feels like a year (prob has been actually) since the last time it came up in a daily only to find out they have dynamic weather in it. IMO there's nothing fun about getting stuck halfway along a 9min long track only to get hit by rain and spend the rest of the race doing 360s and driving on what feels like ice. And being only 2 laps there is no point putting wet/inters on because they get shredded to peices once the track dries up due to the sped up time progression. Who at PD thought this was a good idea?!?

(Sorry rant over 😁)
I'm glad that you mentioned about the rain, now I'm definitely not messing with that. Mixing that with the hardest and longest track in the game is a bad thing!

Does anyone have a formula for sportsmanship rating figured? Sometimes I go through a period of dropping down to A from S and then one clean race later I am back in S. Is it easier to move up than down for this rating?

It'd be nice if I could figure out how to get a low time at Goodwood, in the low 1'30.000's or a high 1'29.000. The middle part is aggrevating and the end hairpin before the finish line messes up my time half of the times I play here.

The biggest issue I have with the slow death of Race A is that it is often one of the best places to learn all the lines on the race track and learn the cutbacks and varied attacks at the turns, as well as getting used to side by side racing. I've raced plenty of people that are GR3 and Gr4 lightning, but aren't good at actual racecraft and side by side battling. I learned more of that thrashing the road cars around than I ever did in the faster stuff. I also think it takes plenty of skill to learn those road cars and be able to jump into anything and make it go. Plenty of people jump into some regular lobbies I know of and are A+ drivers in Gr3 and 4 and I can barely keep up. They're unable to even stay in sight in the road cars and panic when you're going side by side through turns because it's not possible in their favorite cars. The couple of fun races i had last night were amazing, all over each other's bumpers, we all slid different turns but had great clean racing. Much cleaner than I've had in most ranked races lately.

I still say they need to Pull ratings from Race B and C every so often and put them back on for Race A. Far more fair to spread the love or lack of it than to keep secluding race A in no players land.

And @Chris30 to attack the chicane at Goodwood you want to aim at the right apex and touch the brake and feather the throttle to be able to turn and line up the exit as early as possible. I'm actually turning left as I hit the apex of the right hand part of that chicane. The earlier you do that while feathering the gas the faster you can take that chicane and you end up with a massive speed gain towards the line.

Agree entirely. Some of the most fun races in terms of race craft, tactics and planning overtakes that I have had was in the Samba Bus Race A from a couple of months ago. The speed was so low that gave me time for me a think about such things and plan moves rather than everything happening in a split second. I appreciate that is on the extreme and not for everyone, but slow and poor handing cars generally equate to close and fun racing.

Don't brake on the grass if you want to survive the Nordschleife 😳

I got away both of those but then landed this badly at the end of the lap just before the penalty zone 🤦‍♂️

A couple wins on the 3 (EMEA) account at Nords last night, with some really fun races in an A/A+ lobby. Both times starting P2.

First race overtook the pole sitter in the BRZ through T1/T2 which was a pretty nice move if I do say so myself. But he was much faster than me through the corners and was right behind for the whole first lap. He could've dive bombed a couple times but never did and never hit me. Eventually he binned it near the beginning of lap 2. So, finally some relief... not. That only lead way to an M6 who was all over me for the 2nd lap. I was really relying on the Supra's OP speed to stay ahead, especially since there was enough rain to make the bar go up to the first line; had to be extra careful. And I did until a slight nudge just after the 'jump' spot like 80% through the lap. It was just enough that three tires went off in the sand and he went by. However, just after the carousel he let me back through. He apologized for the contact and that's how we finished. It was 100% an accident for sure. Cheers to Saad for being a good sportsman and congracts on earning your A+ on that race!

Next one was a little more straight forward, starting behind the same BRZ as the previous. But, that BRZ was killed at T1 so I took the lead. Was able to keep the gap of ~1.5 seconds to the guy in second and not screw up for the P1. Really fun races.

Missing here is the shunted BRZ by the red Supra, just off screen to the left. It wasn't a hard hit, but enough to make the BRZ spun out. I was surprised to see the Supra got a 5s pen even though the BRZ never wet off the track. The pen system actually worked in this case.

Saad in the BMW. Credit to him for his sportsmanship.

Last night when GT7 was in update mode I jumped over to GT Sport to see what races they had, come to find that race C is same 2 laps at Nurburgring 24 but no rain. Here is the funny thing, there was literally nobody there but me and one other! The next race I was alone and it was the easiest victory but it's hollow if there it's not a challenge. 20230525_131242.jpg

Just like in real life, the vast majority of people don't behave well out of a fear of being punished, they do it because they have morals and empathy and prefer to live in a society than to be hunter gatherers living in the forest. Turning Gran Turismo into Wreckfest is a waste of everyone's time, you can just go play Wreckfest if that's what you want.
and just like in real life a small handful of absolutely sociopathic jerks ruin everything.

I’m enjoying Deep Forest finally. Had a dirty B lobby today w/dropped me down to C for the 2nd time this week. Won a C race, also for the 2nd time, w/put me back to A and B/S lobbies where I had two clean close races in the midpack (QT is 1:33.5 in the 458). Much more fun than winning from pole.

zjn
@GrumpyOldMan how in the world did you set that qualy time in Race A?
My 32.9 looks like I'm driving a lawn mower machine :grumpy:

Do you mind to upoad your ghost?
I don't know whose time you're seeing, but it's not mine. I haven't even tried the track. I just took a look in case I didn't remember, which can happen in my advanced years 😂 and nope, no QT.

Overall I've found it to be the cleanest event for past few weeks at least. Similar level to you at 33.3 in the 458 and starting between 3rd and 10th in B/S lobbies. There's the odd race where you're forced to lift off a bit through the esses due to cars in front and person behind you decides to barge through instead of doing same, but find if they're driving that flat out, you can usually get the spot back before too long when they push too hard (assuming they don't spin you out).

Only real drama I had last night was getting put in to a lobby with mainly SR A's and B's. Started 3rd, on pace with top 2, when the peanut behind me decided to use me as his brake at T1 on Lap 2, knocking me back to 5th. Got back to 3rd before back straight, then 2nd place as guy in front had a penalty and I wasn't too far back from 1st. Coming down pit straight, checked mirror to see if the peanut from before was in striking distance and nope, was a mile back. Or at least that is what I thought, before hearing the familiar screech of tyres from my left as I made my way around T1 before getting punted off the track again at T1, by the same guy.

Same guy, same corner, 2 laps in a row

Made my way back to fourth somehow (presumably because these idiots kept taking each other out).

But in general, I've been finding the Race B's really clean this week.

There’s always one guy, or two! Only question is whether it’s incompetence or malice.

I also find it helpful to go defensive on lap 1 thru the esses (and even T1) if the driver behind is close. You do lose time, but not as much as getting divebombed on the inside of one of those tight corners.

Enjoy the rest of the week!

PS Actually had a driver punt me in the esses, wait, give me the place back, and then apologize to me in the chat afterwards!

It seems like a lot of people are assuming that Race A with no SR consequences is a free-for-all demolition derby.
I haven't found that to be the case. B & C have at least as much nastiness.

Check out this side by side racing action I just had at Goodwood.
I don't even know the guy in the black car.

Now THAT is what I am talking about. Side-by-side for almost that whole lap!

I tried a Race C after weeks of not bothering with Daily races and focusing on Time Trialling. What a great race! No weather for me, it threatened but disappeared. I started second on the grid thanks to a reasonable qualifying time but unfortunately binned it after flugplatz which effectively ended my race. I recovered to 7th only to touch the grass on lap two and then got accidentally rear ended (Thank you driver for waiting for me and protecting me from other drivers while my tyres cleared the dirt!!). I finished 10th but with the pace for a podium. Once again my own racecraft got me but it was a lot of fun and some great wheel to wheel racing with others

I'm hoping to try again a couple of times before the week ends, the only downside is the variable weather; Qualifying has been tough as finding a session with maximum grip has been almost impossible for me! Praying to the weather gods for the rest of the week but thank you PD for putting my favourite track in the Dailies.

I see you're spitting the dummy out on Twitter and not wanting to provide early info on daily races anymore. I'll ask what some people on Twitter have been asking... Can you at least tell us how you get the info?
Boohoo mate. What does he owe you?

You're not going to wither away and die because you don't know the dailies 3 days in advance anymore. If I had to deal with people like you "spitting the dummy out" simply because my priorities were elsewhere I'd stop doing it out of spite.
Absolutely childish behaviour and attitude, get a hold of yourself.

Why does the weather suddenly change between the warm-up and the race start in Race C?

Twice now I've stuck Inters on as the weather map in the warm-up was moving into a big rain storm, then the race starts and the clouds are magically moving in the other direction.
