Gt7 with PSVR has changed my lifeJust received the Brook Adapter from Amazon and will be picking up GT7 and the PS5 tonight. Eager to play the continuation of what is, unarguably, my childhood game.
Do you have any idea if the PSVR works well with prescription glasses?Gt7 with PSVR has changed my life
Do you have any idea if the PSVR works well with prescription glasses?
I'm going to have to try those one day, but they are a bit more expensive over here. In the meantime, it works well over my normal glasses. As long as you don't have huge, extravagant frames, it should be fine. You can buy prescription lenses for the PSVR2 for as little as $40. All you need is to know the numbers for your prescription, they are awesome that’s what I use.
Does someone have a good replay to help me at Maggoire, the Lancer slides a lot so I have to be careful how I move this car. It's a chore to handle, I really need a wheel.

lots of cheap decent starting wheels out there now buddyDoes someone have a good replay to help me at Maggoire, the Lancer slides a lot so I have to be careful how I move this car. It's a chore to handle, I really need a wheel.
Thanks! I'll check them out.I ordered the lenses from HONSVR, they are in China, $40
Yeah don’t worry about all the bells and whistles. I got a used t150 and used it for yearslots of cheap decent starting wheels out there now buddy
You don’t need a world class rig to set a WR, you need determination and lots of time. There are plenty of guys with WR’s on Pads and G29’s, nice gear may be more fun/comfortable, but it doesn’t make you faster. This should really be in the TT discussion thread as that is where he spends his time. It was interesting reading that thread. I always suspected that the elite "aliens" would have world class rigs to eke out maximum performance but no, his set up is fairly run of the mill. Yes, it's a couple $k worth but it's not even direct drive. Regular high end Thrustmaster wheel and pedals with a nice cockpit. I'm sure many here have similar set ups. So that makes me feel even more pathetic in my abilities.
I've been having really good luck in the 911 at Seaside. Finally hit sub-40's so starting to get to know the place and what the car can do here. I am running TCS at zero and BB at +1. What works for me through the last set of esses is:I'm gonna tell you one thing that last s-bend turn before the finish line at Dragon-
Seaside always kills or slows my lap time down. What should I have the TC and Brake Balance on? If I knew what steps to take I could maybe get a time under 1'40.000 but it's gonna take practice.
I won’t say you can’t be great with the game pad, and many players are, but I disagree that a racing setup doesn’t make the game easier. I think the pedals, in particular, make significant difference. You don’t need a world class rig to set a WR, you need determination and lots of time. Yeah, top of the line equipment is certainly helpful, but I think what separates the top 1% from the rest of us is timing.I won’t say you can’t be great with the game pad, and many players are, but I disagree that a racing setup doesn’t make the game easier. Depends highly on what the car is (FR or MR) and yes it does make a difference. Not a full second but still worth noting. From a handling perspective, does setting brake balance towards the rear around 2-3 help to keep the front end track better and less under steer?
Been using same on both MR and FR cars.
I’ve used it for tire saving but for performance I’ve not been seeing an improvement trying to go front or rear bias on seaside.
I’m stuck at 1:39.5 and can hit very close to that in many cars atm but looking for other improvements like brake bias I’m just not changing my outcome.
Yeah if B was more laps it would at least give a chance to recover.
Again last night I’m starting deeper than p10 and get swarmed on the first lap by desperate racers planning to move up front with really aggressive moves.
At 4 laps it’s not a race that you can recover from getting knocked around.
The low A lobbies, which I was mostly in for the last two days, have indeed been horrendously dirty. I don't understand how people get to DR A, which I think is fairly good, without learning that racing and setting a fast qualifying lap time aren't the same thing. When qualifying I only have to briefly lift to get through the COD unscathed, but I understand that when there's a tight lineup of 5 cars headed through, I may need to brake and/or lift earlier so that I don't plow into the car ahead of me or hit the wall on the left because I don't have as much front end grip with dirty air. I'd even prefer a smaller lobby of cleaner/more aware drivers over a full 16.So, ran a bunch of races yesterday with varying results. Had a couple wins and some podiums...and two DFL's (or close). What I am struggling to understand is what is up with the A lobbies?? Y'all don't play nice, lol. Seriously though, I am having some amazing races in the all B/S lobbies. Close, competitive and CLEAN. I get thrown to the wolves in mostly A lobbies and suddenly it becomes Burnout 3: Takedown. Are the A lobbies some strange purgatory between B and A+ where people just be mad??🤣
It doesn't work well with credit grinding, I can say that. When I got it I still needed 80,000,000 million in credits to get ever car, and I ended up dumping it just to finish grinding. Just got every car last week and am now at the beach. Probably going back to psvr2 when I get home.Do you have any idea if the PSVR works well with prescription glasses?
Yeah well I wasn’t talking about top of the line equipment, just the difference between controller and a racing setupYeah, top of the line equipment is certainly helpful, but I think what separates the top 1% from the rest of us is timing.
They can brake right on the mark, consistently. After slowing for a turn, they get back on the throttle right at the perfect time. Their turn-in is spot on, and they can be precise with risk vs reward overtaking decisions.
Regardless of your input method, if you can master the equipment you have available, and time your inputs just right, you'll be an alien. 👽
Sauber just cant match Nissan in straights and its tire wear is worse. What I noticed in A/A+ lobbies in race C is that all the top guys are now running Nissan. And they’re smoking me in my Sauber even though I have great quali time. There’s some secret going on here but everyone is shush about it.
Good pedals can make you more consistent, and can make it easier to be consistent, over a race distance, I won’t disagree with that. Wheels though, make little to no matter in performance, once you are at least using a proper FFB wheel. The wheel does have a current advantage over a pad too, but that hasn’t always been the case. I’ve had lots of different gear at this point, and I can tell you from experience, better gear might be more fun, and more comfortable, but it doesn’t make you faster, over a single lap, when it comes to TT’s.I won’t say you can’t be great with the game pad, and many players are, but I disagree that a racing setup doesn’t make the game easier. I think the pedals, in particular, make significant difference.

Definitely interesting to see contrasting experiences. For me, A folks are the cleanest and make compromises to account for my lower skills, like braking earlier to avoid rear-ending me. They also seem to actually have space awareness, a skill that majority of B folks lack. The low A lobbies, which I was mostly in for the last two days, have indeed been horrendously dirty.
This is why you fight till the very end. It might net you a spot on the podium
I have a couple of thoughts on this. First, I agree that shorter races can contribute to aggressive and desperate driving.Wish they'd have a rethink of race lengths and realise the shorter races only encourage overly aggressive and desperate driving.
So what if longer races cut out some of the player base, IMO it's the ones that deserve to be cut anyway.
The players left will be the ones actually wanting to do decent length races, for the most part.
Forgive me if this is meh opinion, comes off the back of a nightmare Race B where race etiquette seemingly had gone to die.
