I'm not sure any other car need apply though. Anything else got left behind.

You're probably right. I was able to get about a half hour of lapping in this morning and got a 1:47.3 in the Huracan as I prefer to not pick the meta, however I tried the Ford GT as I have that in my garage but not the Peugeot and it took all of one lap to equal that. With some more qualifying I will definitely improve.

Second win here, relatively uncommon sight so worth celebrating!

Have a 2nd and 3rd at Daytona as well so will keep plugging away to make it possibly the best week in GT7 for me results wise.

Btw, always meant to ask but always forget lol.

Who else (talking about us common folk as we all follow the popular ones) uploads Daily Race vids on YT? Would be fun to create a list here and follow each other to see what else everyone is up to.

Not looking to become full time lol, just to add to the community feeling here as this forum has been awesome since the day I discovered it!

Well I do occasionally. Some are raw videos and others more curated. I actually gained 17 subscribers. Fools! :D

Linky in my signature.

Decided to tackle Race A with the Huracan; great car to use, but with a big problem: bad grid start

But in the end I got a victory..............but it's TAINTED :(

The replay confirmed that I touched the spaniard, causing his demise :ill:

GTP stewards, was it my fault ? :nervous:

(of course it is, but I ask anyway :guilty:)

Too much to think about with the gears in race C. Ive gone to auto and accepting finishing near last and losing my DR A. The car is too fun to abandon.
I have taken the opportunity to do auto but with no ABS. Adds an element of interest, more fun and skill than looking for gears and rpm while in no HUD VR.
Getting a tiny lockup but good corner is satisfying.
I drive in VR, and found that driving the car similarly to how I drive the Aston Martin VGT works very well. If you are listening for the turbo, as soon as it fades to a very subtle wheeze you can shift, that's around the 6k RPM point. So you don't necessarily always need to keep an eye on the tach every shift. You're just trying to get the most out of the turbo, really, which is why skipping gears is faster on the straight and the downhill towards the start/finish line, you engage the turbo without having an additional engagement of the clutch. At least, that's how I drive this thing.

I really enjoy that car, the only thing I hate about it is not necessarily the car, but how this game handles double shifts. It requires such a specific rhythm to actually get the double shift, and if it doesn't work you just lost a decent chunk of time because the game didn't like how you tried to skip 4th. I've never driven a car remotely like this in real life but it certainly feels just like an oddity in the game's engine. It could just be the car though

IMO, I would say 70% your fault and 30% the fault of the 155. The 155 was on the racing line. You had your nose on his rear and you weren't getting advantage in the turn. You should have backed out momentarily but with that, the 155 should have known you were there and held the inside line to the left hander (potentially pushing you towards the dirt) sacrificing the line on the right hander before it.

But I am not the best driver when it comes to defensive and offensive strategy, so I am sure others will disagree.

I'm probably in a major minority here (if that makes sense), but this week's Race B at Daytona is boring AF. Aside from the bus stop, you've either got long boring straights/sweeping turns, followed by turns so tight you have to almost stall to take them (exaggeration, but you know what I mean). I just can't see this being much fun. Maybe I'll change my mind later - it's happened before. But I doubt it.

(And for those who don't know me, I don't do race A because if there's no DR involved, it just doesn't interest me, and Race C is too long for my ADD-riddled brain to handle.)

I don't upload them on YT, but I have dozens of races shared in-game, each with comments attached to remind myself why I shared them. It might be a tight and enjoyable race, or it might be so I can watch a race incident from a different angle at a later date.

It's mostly for my own entertainment, but there's a few likes and comments here and there.

What your YT handle?

I don't know why, I've just always liked Daytona road course
I never used to like Daytona road course as I used to find the braking into turn 1 and then the two turns exiting the road section really hard to get right, but since I got my new pedals my braking control has transformed. That has turned this track around for me and now it's much more fun!

Love Daytona infield it's a great track, PD have modelled the place spectacularly and the various time of day effiects really shine there.

Last couple of races, I don't know if it's permanent for B this week, have been under cloud and a little dark and with the fan blowing here it's almost like being there

It’s the same in real life. The kink and bus stop are the only sections of the track that are “fun”. You can imagine how enjoyable it is getting stuck behind some loser in a slow car who refuses to give a point by prior to those sections.

I had to change the "Exposure" video setting in the game so that I could see everything clearly enough.

By the way, to anyone else reading this, this will completely depend on the monitor/TV you play on, so some of you may think "it's perfectly fine to me" and you'd obviously be right for you, but not necessarily for others.

I can't understand why PD can't have some races under nice sunny, clear days. OK, I get it - you can do weather. Great. Now how about simulating some nice, pleasant days, without a cloud in the sky - you can do those too, right? And OK, it's cool - you can simulate glare really well (not this race, but in others), to the point we need sunglasses. Awesome. Now stop it - I don't want to wear sunglasses while playing a game!

My QT were under cloudy skies but I had races in sunshine and light cloud. So I presume it does vary.

It's fun if you are the loser holding others up! LOL I jest..

Ahhhh!

I started on pole, which I did not expect! I'm usually quite calm but the nerves of hoping I don't get rammed heading into T1 got the best of me...

I made a mistake and P2 cleanly overtook me. At least I was proved right as I DID get rammed next corner 🤣 Eventually, due to damage and dirty tires, I went from P1 to P11 after getting off the grass due to the punt...

Managed to somehow fight back to finish P4 but obviously feeling like I should have done better...

You're not wrong. After last week at Dragon Trail, this is a much more boring/less busy circuit. I also don't love how the banked curves work in VR.

Have a replay to share later. Nothing special i guess, but a race i really enjoyed.

Also set a new qt after my session of racing today, which i often do. 1.46.7xx replay shared if anyone wants to see if it helps them.

Having so much fun, and am so disappointed i didn't get any group c races done last week, i might even jump on after i eat dinner

Didn't run any daily races last week, tonight tried some QT for race B for an hour and could only managed a 1.47.0**.
I usually only run race B but had a go at C QT as I enjoyed the Radical when we had it as a TT.
Within 30 minutes had a 1.31.235 may try a race tomorrow

But it’s almost always daytime... I think we’re missing some more evening and night settings in the dailies.

I'd love the races to match the current time of day in that server region. I know it's not possible as not all tracks have the option, but they should and this would be an amazing feature to me.

Daytona at night is pretty cool. It's also good when you get the sunset, but a 4 lap race is too short for that. I haven't checked but do we get the SpaceX launch while racing at Daytona?

Gutted that I've missed Le Mans race C last week, TT practice would be paying off there. Similarly to how Nurburgring TT in group 3 earlier this year was for me.

Did a couple of races on Daytona. Not a fan of this track - especially first corner is difficult to get consistently right. Possibly I did not practice this track enough yet. My QT of 1:46.672 is putting me at the end of the pack around 2/3rds into DR A, which does not help. I did pick up some places though due to others crashing and was finishing around P8-P10, which was neutral for my DR as there were a couple of A+ drivers in the races as well.

Racing was pretty high quality too - had several 2 wide moments into the bus stop using Peugeot's superior top end and all were fair and respectful. Highlight of this combo for me are close finishes - on multiple occasions I would finish with a gap of hundreths of seconds in front or behind.

That would mean I'd always drive in the dark..?

Guys......you all....are FAST!
it's known, but just to let you know another time :D
I'm still at 1:47:333 and can't reach 1:46, I tried to turn in second gear or a 1-2 brief, or I don't even know...I need more time to try tomorrow.
Today strange session, bad session I dare to say, I'm a B sooooo low that I can feel the C from here, I made a couple of mistake for lack of concetration and finished almost last two times in a row...I need a good race to keep the rating but it's tough

ps. I'm adding some of you on the PS
:P

Just had a race at Daytona where I served 9.5 seconds of penalties at the end of the last lap, and believe it or not, it was totally worth it. Some [insert swear words here] jerk rammed me and side-swiped me a few times, using me for his brake. So I took out my revenge. I hit him a bunch of times, and although he finished in front of me (I was next to last), it felt good to pay him back. Reminded me of the old Demolition Derby days.

I gotta tell you, T1 at Daytona is just begging people to use the cars in front as brakes. Not a lot of fun at all.

I wondered what happened in that race. I was hoping to end up getting to race woth you.

99% of what I've seen (and I've done a few myself 😕) in turn 1 is misjudged braking markers, especially in dirty air. Although i have seen a few terrible things todsy also.
