It is kind of endearing to see talks about rain before the race start from perspective of a Daily Race C player. :D

Hope the guys new to this are enjoying the gamble. Just know that it is still possible to get the guess wrong. At least in case of a wrong guess, you suffer for less time than in Race C. Poor PS4 users, they apparently don't load into the lobby with enough time to spare to check the weather and change tires.

----------

You actually are clearly faster than me, though. Maybe I could be as fast as you if I worked hard enough but I can't and I wouldn't either since the game ceases to be fun for me. Also, there was a chat about percentage of wins some pages back, with my personal opinion being that a low win percentage is actually good, since it is a mark of consistency (unless you are A+ since there are not many folks left with higher rating). Also, I am glad that I am not only one who aims for at least top 8 if not top 5, since it helps in slowly trickling up in DR. :D
PS4 player here. Can confirm i only have less than 10 seconds to check the weather. Those with poorer internet are not so lucky...

Had my first, and probably only, borderline-wet race at Spa today! Hilarious fun. Totally dry up until Le Combes, then only a little splash here and there through the middle sectors. Enough to notice and definitely worth bearing in mind for your braking points. Come the final sector, and all hell was breaking loose. Cars flying off sideways at Stavelot and everywhere after that. The sudden loss of grip was fatal and it caught me out on lap 1 AND 2, regrettably...I could've finished quite a bit higher than 7th if I had been much more careful.

Much talk in the pre race lobby about remembering to stick wet tyres on and plenty of cars nipping straight into the pits to correct their oversight before the start line. I think my choice of slicks was correct, and I'm pretty sure the rest of pack was split on what was the correct decision.

The eventual race winner started at the back and he chose Inters. Although I think it was subjective, as plenty could be seen careering off on the dry sectors, too.

If nothing else, this race should be the tipping point to argue for a fourth Daily where this dynamism is standard.

Tokyo Expressway hasn’t featured in quite a while, has it?

Do we know next weeks races yet? Surely Monza is due.

And Northern Isle, haha, someday
Based on Race A info from Nen (confirming A is the Copen) and based on the rest of the tracks and tyre info, I believe next weeks races are a direct copy of this weeks from 2 months ago.

@Tidgney - PD may have saved you a job whilst you're away :D

based on what we’ve seen lately I’d agree with what Nebu is speculating

Tokyo Expressway is my most hated track 1 - Because it's awful and 2 - Because it gets all the attention from the developers. While other tracks barely have events, Tokyo is overflowing with events.

Not to mention with the nonexistent penalties and the deplorable driver behavior, Tokyo is simply a no go zone for multiplayer.

Tokyo Expressway for A,B, and C and limited to the Sylvia, Supra and GTR would be about PD.

Just had a Race B requiring the heavy wets after dry ones all day, what a great time!
It was surprisingly fun, I agree! I didn't do all that well, but I wasn't horrible either. As you pointed out in the chat, it said "0%" moisture on the track before the race started. What a joke - fortunately I believed the weather radar in the pit.

The second race we had was a blast - you made an awesome pass on me, and we were side-by-side for a while and very respectful of each other. Honestly, I was surprised you took the chance, because normally other GTP'ers are really cautious with other GTP'ers, but you did it perfectly and all I could do was smile and wave goodbye. At least, until you had to serve a penalty, which sucked for you.

I'm guessing you must have had a mix-up with the other drivers, since you left so quick. Still, know that I enjoyed racing with you!

Lots of fun, and I'm glad I didn't totally give up on this race this week.

I'm on a PS4 Pro and usually have plenty of time to hit the track to take a peek around. Didn't think the 'Pro would be THAT much quicker to load but that's a surprise I'll welcome.

This was the finish of a really fun Race B in the wet. I find that it makes for some super tight racing this week!

Took my first win of the week technically on Monday, 12:22 am! Took a while, but I got it.

Haha, in one of the last races of the week at Spa I started 12:th in the chicane and finished first with a win margin of 48 seconds. Hilarious. I was the only one with inters on I think. At least I'm up from the in between groups of C and B now which was awful with low SR drivers and I'm now in B with S drivers.

I don't understand as soon you start to reach a new group you must first go through some kind of hell with very low rated SR drivers. I thought your driver rating couldn't be higher than your SR but that's not correct. But it should be like that.

I've had a busy week, so didn't manage to fits loads or races in. I did concentrate on qualifying earlier in the week and managed a time for B and C that put me near the top of most of the lobbies I raced afterwards. Got a win and a few podiums during the week including a second place in race C with @OldandSlow behind me last night I think. I thought I might have recognised the name, but I wasn't certain at the time. :)

Finished off the night with a race B and was surprised to find myself starting 9th in a lobby with half A and half B drivers. Had a good race, very tight! Went into Eau Rouge side by side (pic below...) came out alive and even managed to pick up some places to finish 7th.

All in all, a pretty decent boost to my DR taking me up to 66%. Looking forward to the next weeks races, although I've got another busy one coming up, fingers crossed I can find some time to drive. 😁

Sigh this is accurate then

I'm sure we've seen all these tracks recently though Gr 4 at Atlanta I do remember being a lot of fun at least.

Crap at RBR and not interested in the Copen. Will dip in Race B and stick to F1 Manager again.

I had one where I finished 7 seconds off the lead - I was 12th! Fantastic racing, very clean, 3 wide at some points

I think on the edges of the driver ratings you get people desperate to move up to B or A, and others desperate to not drop out of B or A, so you're more likely to meet a few dirty rivals

Here's my best lap so far for the new Race A.
Automatic transmission and controller doesn't work well with this car, but track limits barely work at all.

PS4 race B. Highlight for me last week was a race where everyone started on slicks and it rained heavily. I was in an Atenza starting p8. The 4wd really helped me keep it on track while everyone else slithered around. Ended up coming out on top in a 4 way battle.

I was surprised that more people did not take a gamble and use the 4wd cars (I hardly saw anyone else using 4wd all week) - but most people stuck with the same 3 or 4 cars that are maybe a few tenths quicker in the bone dry, but not as good in the wet.

This is the discussion thread for an article on GTPlanet:

Gran Turismo 7 Daily Races: Groundhog Daihatsu

A new set of Gran Turismo 7 Daily Races is now available for the next seven days, but you’ll be forgiven for thinking that there’s something awfully familiar about them...
Going for the race C this week, trying it out this evening...13 laps, never did C ever, thinking about a 9 laps medium and 4 soft strategy or the opposite 4 soft and 9 medium, depends on my QT that's gonna be poor on Red Bull Ring, maybe I should give a try to drink a can of Red Bull....that should gives me wingssssssssss :P

Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V. I guess the PD team is taking some days off. ;)
I'd love to know how exactly they configure the Daily Race Schedule. It can't be that complex surely to make something a bit fresh?

I do say this a lot but I cannot believe how lazy they are...the fact they don't deploy the assets they have (night races, dynamic weather....hell, half of the tracks arebl basically unused!).

Idk why we haven't had a race dedicated to the Copen VGT. Perfect little car for cup racing. Literally the last time the VGT had a race was the early GT Sport days (I remember that for some reason).

And in general, some more effort in the part of the game you put so much focus on these days would be nice PD.
