I think Sony do some weird stuff with network control.
The ps5 says i have 70mpbs download but only 200kbps upload. Its crazy, I have laptop and phone in same area and its shows 70mbps down 20mbps up.

Can’t join any dailies tonight! The countdown ends then……absolutely nothing happens.tried 3 C’s and a B race , same thing! Internet connection and Play Plus sign in are fine???

Not watched yet but will later. Interesting that you've gone from a thumbs up to a shrug. Is that down to it being a repeat?
It's an interesting one, back when I ran it previously it was great. But knowing the strategies for Race C already and knowing that the best way to do the race is to avoid everyone that's the reason I changed it really. Don't get me wrong you can have some good racing here but ye knowing everything already in advance just knocked it down.

Paging @D_Dragline Do you drop down to second in the Porsche when negotiating the windy bit before the stretch before the final two turns? Turns seven and eight, I believe.
My fastest time took it in third but I find it difficult to duplicate at speed.

Going for the race C this week, trying it out this evening...13 laps, never did C ever, thinking about a 9 laps medium and 4 soft strategy or the opposite 4 soft and 9 medium, depends on my QT that's gonna be poor on Red Bull Ring, maybe I should give a try to drink a can of Red Bull....that should gives me wingssssssssss :P
IIRC, last time around the optimal strat was basically the opposite of what you're thinking, 3-5 laps on the mediums and then 8-10 on the soft.

Thanks, it'll be my first time in C races so I'm new to this kind of thing :P

Any news on the EU server guys? wanted to do a race but waitin 25min for nothing

Just tried hopping on to my first Race B of the week and after 12 minutes of practice, and after the countdown I got chucked out with this specific error message...

Not sure if this is the same experience as the others...

It's the first time I've seen this one, and my connection has been 99% reliable since release day.

Will check in again in 8 minutes and see if I get better luck

EDIT; it happened again. This time it was a generic "Error Has Occurred"

I was waiting for a race to start 3 times and when the timer went to zero, nothing happened! It didn't affect DR when I quit though, which is an achievement in itself considering PD is the developer 😂

Hey, I exist! I took a break after the last GTWS race and it's time to get back to racing. I decided to finally finish Tears of the Kingdom and Final Fantasy 16 during my hiatus so that was nice to get both of those done.

Anyway, I'm going for Road Atlanta this week because I like that track a bunch. I tried the McLaren first and was way off pace with it. Then I went to the Ferrari and eventually got down to a 1:25.9XX after getting rid of the "rust" in my absence. Looking forward to getting back online and hopefully not getting sent to the shadow realm.

Interestingly I had a couple of the game just freezing or kicking you out on the pre race countdown timer.

But more interestingly than the freezes and crashes was in most of the races I did last night my gear changes (650S Manual) were a lot slower than they normally would be. Like click....wait....and now it changes.

Where as in QT it's just click, bang etc.

Not sure if the things are related but it was an odd experience especially in a car that needs super short shifting

I can confirm it is still happening. But only if I use my European account. If I'm on my Japanese account, I'm able to join races without any trouble.

Edit: they seem to have some massive issue in Europe. If you check the rankings for the daily races, there are many entries where the name of the car doesn’t show up. I’m going to guess it has to do with some outage on their end in this region.

Here's my best lap in the US for Race A.

I avoided this combo last time because I figured automatic transmission would be way slower but I don't think it makes much difference. I can still get about half a tenth with a better exit from the turn into the back straightaway but that lap was my best first sector ever by far and I think best last turn as well so I doubt I will try to improve again unless I can get consistent with manual.

Also the servers are working fine for me but I did notice a few car labels missing on the Race A leaderboard so I guess it looks the same way for everyone? I don't remember seeing that happen in any Gran Turismo game before so something might be really broken somewhere.

That's what I'm getting. Countdown went to --:--.--- twice then hung at 5 seconds the next time. Very annoying.

Still, I've got a couple of half decent qualifying times. 😕

Still happening for me with AF-100200 error at end of countdown to join races😡

I’ve had zero issues with connecting with the daily races, well besides being incredibly slow to load. Then again I’m using an original ps4 and wifi. I’m in US on the west coast.

You would think that they would fix it sooner 😢
I'm not one to defend PD for anything, but I've been in the IT world forever, and server/network issues can run the gamut from just needing to reboot a few things, to needing to replace parts that may not be available right away.

Add to that the fact that it might not even be PD's fault. We had one instance where a major fiber cable went out (got cut, actually), and took everything down for many, many hours.

All that to say that assuming PD's incompetent may not be the best way to go. In fact, the people who take care of the data center(s) are almost assuredly not the people in charge of the stuff about PD that we hate, and I can guarantee they're pulling their hair out as they work on the issues. Most network/data center people are very dedicated, and would hate this situation more than any of us can imagine.
