….Grumpy old guy, im supposed you haven’t dipped your toe into GTWS races yet? In my opinion…that’s the best ‘sport mode’ thing going that this series has
They're too long for my attention span, or else I'd be all over that.
Congrats on your A again. 🎉
You were heading there no matter and race more in a day than I do in a week lol. It’s an addictive combo.

I’d feel the same way about it but you don’t know going into a race if it’s going to work or not. I’ve been chomping to race but keep doing other things in the game to keep me occupied because I don’t want the stress of being in another hung race.
Thanks, that's a great way to look at it.
Btw- nice improvement on your qt!
Thanks! I have no idea why I'm clicking so well with this race, but I'll take it, for sure.
Congratulations on gaining A again. Race B this week is a sweet combo if only the servers played nice. At the end of the day, if that is what the race gives you then that is what you take. Don't feel bad about it. You hung in and persevered. That is racing.
Thanks. Makes perfect sense.
What was I saying in the previous race? "I don't fall apart anymore" 🤔. Well I bin it on the last corner.
Refer to your previous comment - "That is racing." It sucks, and you know I sympathise.
What really gets me is sector 3. Entering the last tunnel is where I appear to lose time.
I'm a little confused here. Are you talking about the tunnel itself? I find that hard to believe because if you just watch a few leaders replays, it should be obvious what to strive for. No insult intended, of course. Or are you talking about something else?
Something has changed on my ranking through the night…i was A B and with no play i’m C D!!!
Is it happened to someone else?
If you quit the race before it finished, you won't see your stats change until the race is over. So if you got glitched out before everyone else did, it probably doesn't show up until either the race ends or everyone else gets glitched out.

Not sure how you went from SR B to SR D, but when your SR dropped to D, the highest your DR can be is C.
Thanks for sharing this! I'll be looking in the sky for pigs today.

I quit races beacuse were hanging on loading screen…yesterday evening 5 in a row for that situation…also a friend of mine same situation…

Hope you all didn't get comfy with original dailies because we're back to duplicates next week!
Race A is looking to be the SSRX race for the 3rd time (from the 3rd of July), and B and C are both copies from the week beforehand (26th June)

Actually an embarrasing company. I don't understand how they can fail so hard to deliver engaging events.

Is it possible open a ticket to gt7 support?
Just to manage expectations here...

No.

They most likely won't fix anyone's DR or SR when they fix the underlying issue, so we will all just have to live with it.

DR/SR hits are annoying but a lot less annoying that waiting 45 mins for the game to crash or to race 2 other people for less than 9 mins....

My SR is the lowest it has been in 6 months. Has PD mentioned the sport mode issue yet? This is getting to be ridiculous

They have acknowledged it.

The following is a list of known issues for Gran Turismo 7.

Application Error / Progression Blocker
 - In Sport Mode Daily Races or Championships, once the matchmaking has completed, the game may freeze, or an application may error occur on the loading screen before a qualifying time trial or race.

*We are currently investigating the issue and working on a fix.

 - In certain Race Events, the application crashes on the Rewards and Rating screen, preventing any further progression.

Likely they inadvertantly broke something in the last update's code.

It took them long enough to acknowledge it though. Has Japan been on holiday for a week? After all it's been 9 days since the last update.

This is frustrating, as I want to continue daily race B as I am doing well in it, but I don't want to continue for the risk to my DR and SR. Now I'm back to a clean DR A/ SR S I would like it to remain there.

PD proceeds to apologize -> Doesn't disable DR and SR until they fix this issue.

Plus they have the live service / always online feature for multiple reasons. They can definitely know how many races actually start and how many players are involved in racing. Those stats may have drastically dropped since last week.
And they do nothing about it in 5-6 days...

It's ironic that they let this happen right after the Gran Turismo movie gets released on digital. (the game is highly praised in it, obviously)

I agree it should be obvious from following replays and just other cars. Everyone else goes wide left into the tunnel to maximize the corner but I just can't get that to work for me. I think it is the hump right before the entrance that throws me off. In my QT my fastest times are with me entering in the middle of the tunnel, braking right before the hump to throw the weight on the front of the car for turn in, coasting and then gassing it out just before the apex. Trying the wider line I tend to be slower.

I think the issue is I drive the outside like the middle or a tighter inside in that entry speed is slower but then the outside is a further distance traveled so I am slower. The outside works if I keep my speed up. I think my current approach loses me .1s through the tunnel but with a slightly slower exit speed, that may add up to .2 to .3s by the finish line as I lost the speed through the final esses. When I get those right I'm hitting the final straight at around 133 mph. When not, it could be as low as 124mph. That's a significant difference for that final run up the straight.

They seem to have been on a two month bender celebrating themselves, capping it off with two ‘updates,’ whose only memorable bit was breaking online mode.

I wasn't playing the last time these races came around. Race B looks like a SR wrecker unless you can start in the front and run away from the field. Which is a bit of a bummer because I like Laguna Seca.
The corkscrew was a doozy of a place to be on lap 1. I love Laguna Seca and can't wait to get some racing in there next week, especially on racing soft tires!

Kudos for being introspective.
I like using chase cam, because it allows me to see 360 degrees around my car.
I also use radar, but don't really look at it. My peripheral vision spots the blue triangles streaking up to me in the braking zones, and often I can make quick adjustments to avoid the kamikazes.
Thanks! Blue triangles and chase cam is not possible in VR, but I definitely would like to have some sort of indication that someone is close.

Been stable tonight albeit a bit of false hubris on my part with the 650.

Those Mazdas are fast, like slip stream isn't a thing fast. Sure on the twisty stuff I murder them but tooooooo many straights.

It is 155 corner attack mode for these guys. Slow on exit but power saves them.

Just not my style these days.

Not raced this week's Daily races as well they don't really appeal to me plus the lobbygate issues I just don't see the fun in hoping the lobby works or not.

Been keeping an eye out on Forza in the last 24 hours and I have to say I think they have got the Daily Races right in that game. From my first impressions the 3/4 different categories with the rotation in the races is very appealing.

I'd like GT7 to follow a similar route. Each week PD sets out 2-4 tracks for each Daily Race, and sets out certainly cars.

Daily A - 4 different tracks that rotates every race. Road cars and specific cars that also alternate with the 4 tracks. 20mins races

Daily B - Gr4/Gr3. These alternate everyweek, but have 3 different tracks that rotate each race. 20mins races

Daily C - Gr1, 2, 3 & 4, and other specific race cars. 2 tracks that rotates every hour. 30 mins races

Daily D - Same as above but make these 60mins races and 2 different tracks

Only downside is player numbers fluctuating between lobbies. Would need testing before been implemented.

I think just as early doors watching is that people hunt fuller lobbies in Forza. And the racing is cleanish on the streams as everyone adjusts to the handling.

I don't think anyone has found a Goldilocks rotation for races, LFM is close but even that has dead silverstone lobbies.

Just harking back to GTR 2 or GT Legends, they worked a lot better in that it was race to win/real lobby races and you had choices.

These slot based things really don't work for me outside of the events and even then I can't do most of them for life reasons.

I go over to the left, shifting to 4th. Just as the bump crests, I let off the gas and add some brake. Turning right (obviously), I downshift to third then second, so I'm slowed down to the correct point where I can start accelerating again.

If done right, it's almost like that bump isn't even there, since I'm off the gas and already heading towards the right side.

Don't know if that helps or not.

I know what you mean. Yesterday, I started off in race A. The car is the new Civic Type R.
Not a fun experience. The power-on understeer is horrific. :yuck:

I migrated to race B, and even though I'm curious about the new Mazda, I couldn't bring myself to hop into another FF car.
I just picked from the bottom of my "Last Used" list. I tried the SLS, GT-R, Megane Trophy, F-Type, and WRX.
I didn't do very well in any of them. I liked the racing, though. My SR was at A, but went to S after the first race. Then I had a bunch of races that didn't load. I ended the day at B. :grumpy:

The problem I now have is wanting to make sure I get into the top-split races next week at SSRX, but not confident that the game will allow me to get there. Even if I have clean races, they may be followed by more lobby failures. :indiff:

Since they are aware of the issue, it would be nice if they reinstated our SR points.
