QT down to 1.58.671 still in the 458.
Not winning races but fun trying to keep with the Mazda up the hill, if I'm within 0.3 you get some tow but outside that you lose a second. Now back to A with just top 5 finishes.

Did you know you can use a wall for a sort-of brake check? I was at Trial Mountain nearing the end of a lap, and the guy behind me had made up significant time and had me in his sights.

I screwed up the final esses, and side-swiped the wall on the straight. It bounced me right back onto the track, with a significant loss of speed, and the guy behind me had no chance to avoid me.

He smashed into me and he almost lost it, while at the same time giving me a boost forward. Worked like a charm.

Finally managed to get a win again, on the last day of the week! I say finally because this is my first win since the 2nd of August!
Started in 3rd but managed to have a consistent run without any mistakes to take the first place.
I have had plently of Top 3's but they don't feel as good as a win after such a long time

Managed to clock 368 miles on my Civic this week. It's been good to me, managed a top five in all but one race and five wins to go along with it. Some good battles along the way:

I've just seen the future of racing in GT7. In my lobby, an A+ on pole, ahead of me by more than a second of QT. Them me (a dubious "A"). Then a B about 3/4 of a second behind my QT, and it went down from there.

The guy in front of me had no challenge from me.

I had no challenge from the guy behind me.

I almost fell asleep. I guess this is what happens when the playing field dwindles. Like I said, the future of GT7, perhaps here sooner than I thought it would be. Sigh.

I'm determined to wait this race out.

I had 5 races all load, a small loading wait for 1 so I assume this is player related and the game loads or times out if the offending player leaves or it just runs out of lobby time.

These are artificial times as the A+ guys in my lobbies run away, even just starting behind them they are fast in race trim, the consistency and pace with zero errors sets them to the level I'm trying to get to.

But this broken daily race thing is utterly awful quite honestly. I've waited more than I've raced today to just do 10 min races.

Its pretty poor that we get "oh yeah it's broken" update a week after they broke it but with no timeline for a fix.

Are we living in live service 2023 or do they have send us a 3.5" floppy disk in the mail to fix this.

I think I'd rather have the disc update.

Anybody wish the loading screen was animated, a bit of breeze in the trees, hoping that airship/ blimp would move a bit, maybe a safety car making a few circuits. No all we get is some background noise and a muffled PA system. Just had my longest wait, 41 minute's that was it turned it off.

Been running the 458 all week but thought I'd have a go at the Huracan.
TC0 BB -2 and suspension minimum on all settings, this is bound to not work!
4 laps later 1.58.299

Let's race, 41 minute's later power off.

6 attempts to race earlier, and only 1 started. Trying another just now and it's hung as well.

On the plus side, I've cleaned the fish tank, cut the grass, and done 3 loads of washing.

Reminds me of a PS3 poker game I used to play. When learned that if the game froze while starting a table, it was a connection problem with one of the players. We even learned how to identify which one needed to leave to get the game to start.

But GT7 doesn't give us enough information to determine if it's a specific individual or not.

That is SO true. I'm dreading the day (possibly tomorrow) when reality sets in. It isn't going to be fun taking a beating all week until I'm back down to where I really should be. DR A at 38%? Yeah, right.

Not sure about wanting to go back to disk updates, but I agree with the gist of what you're saying. In today's age, these kinds of show-stopping bugs should be able to get fixed much more quickly.

Yeah the worst part is that we have no idea if they will patch it next week or next month

At the very least, they could do a quick patch and replace the "race will begin shortly" message with something more appropriate.

From DR B 90%, to DR A 36% in one week. I would think this is some sort of record, except for people who were working a new account back up to high DR A/ A+.

I'm not bragging, by the way - this is ridiculous and is only the result of a crazy confluence of events. I'm not this good, and I'll never see these heights again. I should get a T-shirt while I'm here.

Yup. Just did a C which was glitched long enough to lose 4 players.

Btw, surprising how many B and C players are pitting in Race C! I’m gaining 4-5 spots per race by staying out.

One race too far....

So I almost had a perfect week. Almost did not race today and I was sitting at 32% DR A and saw @GrumpyOldMan's post being at 36% and I thought one more... It was a glitched race and I came in 2nd, ahem, actually last as there were only two cars in it. But still that was 4% and enough to give me my first week where I have never lost points in a race. Progression from 84% DR B to 36% DR A. Better than Grumpy!

Then I thought, one more again. I can probably end up higher than Grumpy. A bit of friendly rivalry here.

I'd been lapping my QT in the 1:58s now more consistently so I should be okay. Oh I wish I hadn't!

This was a non glitched race and I start in 4th. First lap was great but P5 managed to get ahead of me turn 2, lap 2. Then turn 4 it all starts to go wrong. Losing my turn-in point I start to get attacked by the pack behind but what really killed me was what I felt was a lunge attack at the bottom of the hill. I then passed them again going up the hill and then after the second tunnel I get side swiped by the same car in what I feel is another lunge attack.

I was rather annoyed at this point and I'm not proud, but I let off my brakes and punted them into the wall. A bit of retaliation. But that is never good and I get a 4s penalty. Serving that puts the car I punted back behind me and in the same spot they lunge into my side again. Then that causes my line to be intercepted by another car giving me nowhere to go but the wall. Somewhat ironically in the same spot I punted the first car. I ended up 14th.

Looking at the replay from my vantage (in car) they definitely looked like the aggressor and from my replay again it looks like they lunge. But from their point of view it looks like I turn in on them with me not being aware of them taking inside lines.

It's possibly 50/50 but I feel that inside dive they do was never there as I was on the racing line that 99% of everyone else was taking in my races that had been clean up to that point. I feel they were using me as a mobile wall to make the turn.

Am I wrong? Let me know!

Race A is a joke. That's 3 times they have done this same joke, and it was not funny the 1st time.

All these cars and tracks available and they just copy / paste - It's just frankly lazy.

It's a very different kind of racing but personally I enjoy it, find it pretty fun. Not now with it being a copy that appeared relatively recently, however. And for a third time.

Personally, not for me. But I do understand the excitement and the strategic elements involved.

The race itself is fine, it's quite fun. However;

• It's the third time they have copied the same combo in a matter of months.
• It's comically short and takes up an entire race slot.
• It thus has about a 15 minute wait until you can do it again.
• It completely removes a 'proper' road car race, leaving you out of luck if you actually enjoy those.

Which to me, all quite sour its inclusion and makes the week a lot less fun.
Not to mention the other two are copied anyway. There's nothing original this week and if you don't like racing Gr3 and Gr4 for the bajillionth time then you're basically off for a week.

There's not enough people who read this thread and who would participate in this kind of a protest, compared to how many play the game, to make a difference. And there's no guarantee it would make a difference anyway.

Besides, the number of people racing has already dropped quite a bit. I don't know this for sure, but anecdotal evidence makes it seem that way.
