I watched a couple of the replays for the top Beetle times at Race B. Not sure what to make of it. Every corner jamming it into 1st gear so the car locks up and turns and they have counter steer assist on as well. Doesn’t really seem like there’s much simulation going on, more bodging the limits of the game’s physics.

There are just too many totally stupid penalties.
Someone who pushes another off the track should get the base penalty of 3 seconds + the time it took their victim to get back into the race... Then a lot of races would be neater I'm sure... Some penalties definitely are not justified... I got a few of those today.

If
they arent used to driving beetle, then they wont fair well, alot of crashes and things, thats my manufacturer i use but that car is great... Once you get used to the small frame & cornering which isnt an easy thing to get used to on it

Had a run at Race C last night, trying to repair SR after the horrible messes at Le Sarthe. Should have known better. People being ultra aggressive and bombing in for contact even when I leave the door open for them to simply go by. And the usual favorite move of letting someone through because they have a massive slipstream and as soon as the get a pixel ahead they swerve directly in front of my car while braking. Even though I was coasting and braking early expecting something like that there is still lightest tap and I get 3 seconds while they only barely even missed the apex. Same when getting dived on the Tilke horror chicane. Leave room, get rear ended off and I get the penalty.
While I think it's a good combo in spirit the anti-penalty armor that some of these drivers seem to have is annoying. The only way I can avoid contact any better is to simply pit lap 1 and only have clear track the rest of the way. Saw a few known regulars getting the same treatment as well. And while it's too early to judge, I'm wondering if it's lag issues as all of us that were getting penalties for getting rear ended were the ones furthest from the servers.
Second attempt at a race ended in a hung lobby where I hoped to ride it out and get an almost empty grid but gave up after 50 minutes.

Had a go at race C tonight; spent a while doing the circuit experience getting all gold's, then a bit of qualifying TT to make sure I was comfortable with the BoP'd version of the car then into the race...
Qualified 6th which isn't bad for me as I'm bouncing between low C's & D ratings (this was a C race). Upon formation I realised the rental car had the wrong tyres on, groan.
1st lap kept up with the front group until somewhere in the last sector when one of them went off, out of view, then came right back onto the track sideways, throttle full on and unghosted right in from of me, we hit & that's a 4 sec penalty for me!
As I'm taking the penalty I think as I'm losing the time on this straight anyway & will be dead last, pit now for the correct tyres and try to play catch up (thinking it's a great idea)!
Upon leaving the pit lane; 3 second penalty for cutting the pit line on the way in - thanks!

I've tried so many cars in qualy for interlagos but there's just so much understeer it's undrivable. +10 steering with no assists should not feel like I'm trying to navigate a cruiseship through every corner on controller, it's absolutely ridiculous how badly this has gimped us since 1.13

Last weeks race A was one of the best combos we ever had, that counts all we had in Sport. that track and car combo was pure gold. The car was just dangerous to get you into trouble if you over did it. More of hat please.

I followed a WRX and a Aston Martin into T1. They clashed, the Aston spun off and the WRX touched me, out of control and went off. I got 4 seconds.
On top of that you want to put the number of seconds their own stupidity cost them so I would come to the pen zone with 20 seconds???
How is that fair?

Damn, nearly had a win in all 3 cars on Race C - until a stupid last lap error cost me the win in the RCF 🙄 aaargh. Another RCF won, and almost everyone else was in the GTR.
I can't find a huge difference between the three of them in the race - RCF and NSX feel easier to drive to me while the GTR is maybe slightly quicker but more twitchy.
I'm finding race A hard - getting low/mid 1:32s, but my stepson is on 1:30.5

B race today, started in 14th in my Beetle, didnt bother trying to qualify yet because its the car i use in manu races, got up to 5th, almost bout to catch up to 4th on the last turns but no, i get divebombed by the 5th place dude i past prior while he called himself taking a sharp curve at nearly full speed, luckily he got a 4 sec penalty but i ended up finishing 7th because of that type shenanigans, this is why i try not to do daily races, they will try to take you out rather see you beat them coming from far back in places

Had some fun races this evening with Race C!
Before the first race I - of course - forgot to change the tires from soft to medium before the race, so I started with softs.
At least that allowed me to stay close to the top 3 including some top split drivers, but unlike me they were on mediums.
Still managed to finish in P5.
Some other races I also finished in P5, but some could have been better. The curb out of turn 1 has caught me out not only once.
This was my last race of the evening. Started P6, almost binned it at the end of lap 1, then had some nice duels (and a divebomb at the end) but managed to stay alive and finished in P4. Was fun, and will definitely do the race again this week

Look, im by no means a great driver yet, i use ps5 controller, etc, im i C GT3 group but im tired of B-C Dr drivers trying to divebomb me after i make my way to top 5, just to try to make me lose, like really people? I ended in 5th in last race but 3-4 times, 2 of the B drivers that were in lobby tried to div
Look, im by no means a great driver yet, i use ps5 controller, etc, im a C DR in GT3 group but im tired of B-C DR drivers trying to divebomb me after i make my way to top 5 or higher, just to try to make me lose, like really people? I ended in 5th in last race but 3-4 times, 2 of the B drivers that were in lobby tried to divebomb me on last laps, they failed, slowed me down & i got clean race while they got penalties,but its frustrating because i drive clean as possible and even move over if you are faster than me on track but is it too much to ask for others to do the same? I have made mistakes in races but i never intentionally try to ram or knock anyone off the road, and the drivers at a higher dr should know better but maybe they thought they were better than us "C" drivers, just because they are higher level than some of us doesnt mean they are better or drive better than us lower rating drivers..
Some guy in lobby was trying to tell me to calm down & chill but i will not because it is a trash move by people to ruin anothers race just because they are upset they got passed up, i expect that i all C lobbys but B DR is supposed to be better sports about it.. Sorry yall, im just ranting

I'm finally jumping back into sport mode after some time doing the Manufactures Cup test seasons and the cafe missions. I jumped into the Mustang for Race B at the suggestion of a few people here. I never drove it before and I found it to be a nice car to turn laps in. I'm sitting on a time of 1:33.3XX which is good in my book. I do need to get my brake points and lines a bit better, but more practice will take care of that.

I’ve found the same. On a wheel too. Especially noticeable with the left then after senna. I kept going wide.
Depends on the DR. I spent an hour getting a 1.31.9. Hopefully be good enough for a top half start but not sure it will be. I did a very early morning race and the top 4 were in the 31s.
The slowest two beetle times both had CSA on. Maybe they’ve dropped out.

Nothing is perfect... and nothing is easy. But is it fair when I brake normally for a corner, my rear man slams into my rear, shoots me out, I crash head-on into a ledge and get stuck in the gravel bed, my vehicle is damaged front, rear and engine. It takes me at least 10 seconds if not more to even get back on track.. and another X seconds where I crawl like a snail over the asphalt. Loss of time at least 30 to 45 seconds in the worst case.
And what does the one who messed up my race with this violence get? 5 seconds when it comes up? It can't be THAT either.
So it is sometimes more lucrative to take a faster driver out of the game with such an action in order to have a chance of winning yourself. AND YES, there is such a thing and it happened to me again yesterday in Fuji.
I've had pole in all my races, but in one race the driver who started 2nd thought he was doing something like that. I had a qualifying time better by almost 3 seconds... whether he just hadn't practiced much or whether that was his maximum... doesn't matter and can't be checked, but it was noticeable. I ended up with 8... Is THAT fair?

Was able to do four races last night in Daily B. That 1:32.904 quali lap was good enough to have me start 1st three times and 2nd once (B|S). In all four races I finished right where I started. Two wins in the Mustang and one in the DBR9 for something a little different!
On my second race I got two track limit penalties. The first was well deserved; I went wide, all four off on T3, 1.000 second. The second penalty I went "wide" into T1 but never left the track! All four tires were still on tarmac and I got a .500" penalty. WTF?
First win in the Mustang, though the guy in the Jag was arguably quicker. I couldn't drop him and there are a couple places where I lost a bunch of time that I need to work on. Thankfully, there were a couple places I'd gain time as well. Fortunately for me, with ~ 1.5 laps left he went off and crashed which gave me some breathing room.
Second win. Pretty boring one, honestly but I will take those all day.
Guys, we have a beetle infestation problem. This one was a little tougher than the others. The Aston is pretty good on the straights but through the infield it seemed much slower. I went wide thru T4 on lap one and got passed by two cars. Conversely to my previous statement I was pressuring P2 through the infield and he made a minor mistake getting lose coming out of T10 and I was able to get him back though T11. The guy in P1 had a .500" penalty so I got him back on the front straight. From there I was able to hold it even though they were on me pretty good until lap 5 when the guy in P2 spun and crashed at T4.
The Aston is so beautiful.
