Forgive my dryness. I've started pole 4 times tonight ran away the first few corners and the 1 second back dive bombers are out.

Pretty fing meh about it right now.
If it's any consolation I was on Race A earlier and the polesitter went off first corner but he was majorly quicker on pace and got back on the last lap. I'd raced clean with the second place car the whole time and the polesitter bumped me off track with no penalty on the last corner as if to say "this is MINE!" like no mate you crashed yourself out.

Got really annoyed afterwards and won the next race 👍

Wow, got pretty overwhelmed by the update. Partly because its big but mostly because right now I can see how much I still got left to do in SP. That thing aside. Did not get much time to drive tonight did some sp events and spent some time in daily B qualy to check some cars. Sadly, my beloved american muscles are pretty useless in gr4 for me. They feel... heavy, brake badly and overall all they can do right now is to sit in my virtual garage and pick up dust. Had to try some other cars. Bought couple of new ones, but only got time to test cayman gt4. Not a big fan of porsche here, but managed to smash my yesterdays quali time by over a second and felt pretty comfortable in this car. I managed one race in porsche tonight, starting p11 in DrB room. I was the best of the rest of non mazdas at the start. Managed to keep it that way for about three laps where I came to a point where I wasn't able to catch mazda in front but had comfortable lead over cars behind and that was the point where I slightly relaxed. Beforehand I did some minor mistakes but they didn't affect my lead that much (atm I wasn't concerned about cars in front as I knew I wouldn't be able to catch them) and that was the moment where I visited gravel outside T4. All my hard work went into dust (gravel to be exact) and I learned my lesson hard. Finished luckily second to last because some cars in front went into litter on the last lap. Right now I'm enjoying racing in vr (well, lack of intervals between me and car in front/back is starting to be annoying) still feeling less confident than when I last played gt7 but I'm here for fun, so maybe beter results will come later. And I will not use the op mazda because I like to drive.what I want and not what's best - ok cayman is a compromise, but to be fair.. mustang and viper gr4's are pos :(

I feel bad about the RBR race I just did. I got a little distracted around Lap 3, and as I approached T1 I braked 50 meters too soon, because like I said I was distracted. The guy behind me rammed me full speed (of course he would - nobody expects some to slam on their brakes at that point). No real problems for me, but the guys behind me all piled up, so I basically messed up the rest of their races.

By the way, I HATE the glare on this track. Anyway...

The guy who hit me felt really bad about it in the post-game chat, but I explained that it was my fault, not his, but he still felt bad. Which made me feel bad.

But... I finished P2, got a CRB, and I'm up to DR A 11%, and back to SR S, so it's not all bad.

I think and this is arbitrary is that the racing is getting same-ey. I'm racing the same people over and over with the odd I've quit too many races this week.
I have no experience with online racing other than with GT7, but I would think it's normal to start getting burned out. It doesn't help that Gr.4 races are stuck with one car right now, because changing cars helps when things get monotonous.

Some guy tried the Veyron in a race earlier (he was P2 and I was P1), and all he did was slow the rest of us up. He ended up P9.

I'm gonna take a look at the Lancer, but it'll probably have the same problems.

The biggest reason I'm not totally burned out is this forum. After reading other people's posts, it gets me raring to race again.

Its ok. I get it. They suck the fun out of everything. Will say one of the most satisfying parts of vr is seeing those knuckleheads telegraph a bombing, gracefully sidestepping it, and waving as they careen into oblivion.

Yes, i’ve tried to beep, beep, the horn while waving. Cause..habits..

Ps: i hope sophy begins teaching people how to pass without using other peoples doors..someday…

Just incase you hadn't noticed, they fixed the TC settings in daily races and it now respects your setting without having to do a QT/Warm up or switching to your preference from the default TC 3 it used to set you too.
Strange, I never had that issue.

I noticed in the C race today that everybody was finishing with a white SR rating, and no up or down arrow. My SR rating is showing as S, but the bar shows nothing in it at all.

Is this a known bug?

No I thing it's delaying the updates, I had a near empty bar one race and then it went straight to a 1/3rd Sr S bar.

The bars aren't quite real time it appears.

Think that means your full bar. I’m pretty much always full bar and thats how mine looks.

I assume we're talking about the TCS bug. If you never had the issue, then either 1) You always ran a Q race while waiting for the timer to count down and the lobby to open, or 2) You entered the "warm-up" while the 30 seconds was counting down or 3) You had the issue and you didn't realize it.

Guaranteed. And it makes sense I would say all this when it can't be proven anymore, right? But trust me, it was a known bug.

17.5 quali in the Nissan at Spa now puts me in 7-9 on the starting grid in EU B lobbies. Done 4 races this week, all very clean and tidy. I've managed to climb in average 4 places due to my overcut strategy, unfortunately I suck at keeping the lap times when the tire get over the threshold, so all 4 races I could have been at podium if I only could figure out new breaking points as the RS tires goes below the 50% mark. So much to learn.

Now at 75% B level.

I love this game.

Tell me I'm not crazy (at least not about this): At RBR, in laps 4 and 5, the back parts of the track seem to get much more slippery. I find myself losing traction a lot during those sections, in the last 2 laps. I'm tempted to turn on TCS (TCS 1) to see if it helps.

Anyone else notice this?

Yes I have noticed this quite a lot. I've had the day off today so raced more than normal.

I can't tell if it's the track going off or my tires. But hitting lines is harder later in the race even leading the pack way out front.

I know, right? And I can't quite figure out how to deal with it. Some of the people behind me seemed to have no problem with it, which makes it hard to hold a lead (unless you're way out front, of course).

What's your racing name? I almost hesitate to ask this, knowing I haven't been the cleanest on the track today, but have you seen me in a race today? If so, did I hurt you? :boggled: The last few races I've been pushing back as much as I've been getting pushed.

I gave up on trying to race seriously at RBR a long time ago, I might jump in for one or two runs to test my speed but that's about it.

If you honestly told me it was designed originally for divebombing in video games I might just believe it.

It's horrendous. Short straight, heavy brake, short straight, heavy brake - it's perfect for them.

I haven't seen hardly any of that. Almost every race has been reasonably clean, if not with its share of elbowing.

Race win 325 finally.

17.5 now puts me only at P12 on the starting grid in Spa today. Gained 4 places in L1 to L4, but lost 3 of them due to my crappy ability to extend first stint on soft. Lost 2 seconds on the in-lap, and that was enough to push me down. It's razor thin, this game.

The 3 sec pit penalty is what exactly? crossing the white lines upon entry I'm assuming....I don't think it has anything to do with the exit (although that would make more sense)

It cost me a win last night. 3 seconds is huge!!....pretty stiff penalty considering it doesn't really harm anyone else or even help a lap time.

Penalty is for crossing either pitline (entry/exit), if you cross both you get the full 6 seconds.

You can't cut across either line where it is solid.

Did a race on main around Red Bull and started P11 on a 1:36:3... Quite full of action, non-stop really, even though it was full of contact. Mostly was manageable except the car who started in front of me and took out a few people. Lots of overtakes and being overtaken but I went into the last turn of last lap in P9 and of course, got dive-bombed into the gravel to finish P12....

Also, lol at Sony or YT for censoring "Swapping positions" in the video title 😂 😂
