Stay left coming up to the turn. When the orange marking on the right amco dissapear from your screen you brake. There's a white line on the left side of the track, that's your turn-in point.
When the nose of the car points to the orange marker in the far left anco you can accelerate fully again.
That’s a lot more helpful than the ‘track guide’ I watched! Thanks I’ll see how I get on

Does GT Sport have more options to edit the cockpit view? It‘s laughable how it is currently. The sliders do almost nothing and most often it feels more like driving from the backseat.ACC is lightyears ahead in this regard (SO much fun to use cockpits).Would love to drive cockpit but prefer bumper cam here.
Using the V12 Vantage the cockpit adjustment is minimal that it barely makes a difference. I prefer the in car view over any other view but the cockpit view feels like your a 90 year old grandad licking the windscreen it's that close. It needs more adjustment to go further back. I've no multi screen fancy setup. A 10yr old TV so just making do. But be nice to be able to see more within the cockpit so can see more of the corner rather than tunnel vision.

That would require FOV adjustment. Another laughable omission

Bought the Beetle yesterday in an attempt to improve my quali time over what I had done in the Mustang, but I was unable to. Drove the Beetle in like three races and wasn't able to win any of them; best spot was a P2. One of those P2s the winner was in the Hyundai and put in the chat it was pretty good. So, I was on a mission to win one in it as I was sick of the stupid Beetle.

Tried it out and ended up besting my quali time! 1:32.8X (don't laugh). But I couldn't win with it. Gave it a few tries and was struggling. It was me and not the car. Plus, some of the races I am in (as a B|S) I was going up against A & A+ drivers so it was rough. I did start behind, but finish ahead of an A+ driver though.

So, back in the Mustang I went. First race out, P1!

Now that I got that monkey off my back, decided to give the Hyundai another go as I was determined to get a P1 with it. Ran some more quali laps and tried some different gears to be in at certain spots. Yadda yadda yadda, jumped in a race with it and got the win! Yes! Now I can mark that car off my list of cars to win with.

Man, I love your posts. Every week you discover new non meta cars that do really well and can compete. Was loving the Mustang but the Hyundai is so good to drive with controller (Mustang is a little tricky with the throttle). Thank you

This is how I tackle the final sector. That last corner you kinda hug the outside white line and then swing it right. This way you should get more speed on the exit. Only thing I will say is watch out for divebombs on the inside.
I think Fuji is one of those tracks where it’s tricky and frustrating if you get it wrong but when you get it right and are constant it’s a nice track to drive. Definitely one of my fav tracks on the game.

I’m so slow in race C I don’t know what I’m doing wrong, I can’t get under 1:30.8
I feel like the really good times in GT7 race cars are all about jamming the cars into low gears to lock up and get rotation. The time is made up by sticking it into 1st constantly, same as the beetle in race B. I’m not sure if it’s realistic, maybe it is but it just feels a bit hacky the way it works

I really wish I had saved the replay from my Fuji race yesterday. There's a clip I would have loved to share.

In the last couple laps of the race, when the field was very spread out, I had a good battle for 7th with the only car within my sight.
I out-braked him into turn 1, and took his outside. I guess his car got loose, and bumped mine. I ended up doing a 360 degree spin, and to my surprise, when I was facing straight again, he was up ahead, ghosted and parked in the middle of the track. 😲

I turned on my 4-way flashers when I went past, as a tip of the cap.

It would be nice if we shared those type of replays once in a while. 👍

That’s fantastic. My experience with gt7 has so far been very clean and fair compared to Sport. Of course you still get the odd one but I have to credit the penalty system with deterring dive bombers and giving people something to think about with overtakes.

Thanks, glad you enjoy and get some use out of them!

I have a very minor issue with this as if you did this in a real car you'd be leaving bits of the transmission and block all over the track.

Even though I try not to, I'd be lying if I said I never did it. When in Rome...!:D

Yea, fair players will do this as a "****, my bad! Didn't mean it!" type of thing. I've done this if I hit someone on accident and cause them to lose a bunch of time. Just wait with the flashers on. Hardly a consolation, but at least it shows sportsmanship rather than just driving off.

Yeah I definitely do it too. Same as the liberal adherence to track limits that some of the tracks have. You kind of have to abuse the senna s for example, but I’d rather I didn’t have to to set a good time. Although it is strange I have to be changing oil but the gearbox can take it being slammed into 1st at 80!

Will old oil reduce your power in a BoP race, or is the horsepower number constant?
Yes it does. I noticed I was getting slower on Spa a while ago, changing the oil (was yellow) brought me back to my previous lap times. HP went up when changing the oil, but I didn't check the HP number in the race. I assume it's lower there as well, BoP sets the power and weight percentages afaik, not the actual HP.

Gotcha. Thanks, Sven

i guess i had at least 30 B races this week yet (i just like Interlagos in GT3) and it‘s mostly good fun.Yes,with the mandatory idiots here and there but also with some really nice situations. This evening i had a duell with a greece driver (Geodion) in front of me,fighting for place 4.His Beetle was a bit twitchy and on the straight before senna i did overtake him couple of times (with F-Type) but he always did counter it in the senna. He won the battle after all very close and we had not the slightest contact although racing very close. He wrote me a message then to pay respect, that was quite nice.situations or behavior like this means more to me than a victory.

I‘m mostly racing on the edge of C/B and worked my way up to B again (dunno how often i was B then C again :dopey:) .And while i had good fun in C or C/B lobbies, the first 2 races in B only was pure mayhem. So many a**holes in the races,i couldn‘t believe it.It went better afterwards though. My Q time is not the best (134,1) because i‘m too lazy to put much effort in it and so i start deep in the pack in B races, yes. But racing in the pack with C driver was more enjoyable the last days i would say.Could be coincidence though.

Regarding fighting for positions:i have only ONE simple goal.To end the race with a better result than my starting position to collect rating points (and hopefully stay constant in B).It‘s relative easy for me on tracks i like and that fits my driving style (like interlagos) but when i do dailies that i don‘t like my rating got bumped again.I think i gonna skip the“bad“ weeks completely in the future and play ACC instead.

Hi guys,
Is there some folks here a abit above average that keeps boxing the ceiling of Dr C and never getting at B ?
Is it me or having good runs at C without winning keep you stuck ? I have been around 5 races a week at least but I cannot pass the "C" ceilling yet...
I had good runs in this week selection
With a deserved 2nd place the first day of Fuji Race C and 3rd and 4th in race A today at Suzuka. Clean race bonus for all of those and my Sr S gladly kept at all time.
Is it that hard or I just don't race enough ?
I know I am always far from pole reference times and not using some of the "recommanded" cars to get better qualifying but still I am a bit puzzled at the time being...
Thx if I get some insight with you
Cheers lads

2 more races today for me again. Still haven't been able to improve my time, but I'm very consistent with my lap times in practice so I'm good with that. Race 1, I start P12 in a mixed A+/A/B lobby again. Unfortunately, I completely send the P11 driver into the shadow realm in turn 1 and pick up a 4 second penalty for that. It's 100% on me, I overshot my braking point and ran right into the back of them. I make sure to let them get ahead of me and I fall to dead last in the process. So, my race was over from there. But, thanks to a bunch of rage quits I finish in P12. I was going to apologize to the person I hit, but they were one of the rage quitters.

Race 2 is mostly the same lobby but I start in P13. This race was much better as I didn't annihilate anybody in the race. Anyway, I just turn my laps, hit my lines, and race as clean as I can. Thanks to a bunch of spins and subsequent rage quitters, I finish in P9 with a clean race bonus.

I think it's gotten to the point this week where I won't be able to keep up with the A+/A drivers in the lobbies. At least in an all B lobby, I can compete with the other drivers. I still had some fun this week despite me being in fast lobbies. It put my skills to the test and provided some nice racing with actual respectful drivers.

Anyone tried the F1?Is it worth and/or competitive?
well... i bought this car and I really love it. but PD wants a beetle to be faster than a mclaren... i mean... etf...its not about bop. mclaren was and should be top straight acceleration.

#the real driving beetlunator

a) etf is wrong with you in PD?
b) what are u doing?

There will be a bit of the not racing enough affecting you. But I will be affecting you more through a lack of practice and developing that consistency more than anything. THE jump from DR C to B was mostly an improvement in being consistent in my case. Cutting down on mistakes, being able to take the same line lap after lap and learning some race craft to where having battles didn't affect me in a bad way, I could still race well and not lose speed and crash due to focusing on battles.

Once you develop more steady consistent driving from rave yo race you sort of give yourself time to spend finding little places where you can improve and make yourself faster. If you work qt it and study what faster drivers are doing then the consistency will bring results and speed. Both increasing DR.

As an example, I ran a race C earlier, started p2 and won. Didn't have even the 3rd fastest lap out of the field, but I didn't didn't any penalties and didn't wreck, all the actual 'faster' drivers did. I won by over 6 seconds just by having all but 1 lap within half a second.

Only thing I will say is watch out for divebombs on the inside.

Lol that's one move i try and do now and again, but i'd wouldn't class it as a divebomb at least when i do it, i always try and leave some racing room on the outside coming out the corner. Dunno if its the same on GT7 but i know if you had the driving line assist on in GTS it went round the inside of the last corner

It is but I've tried it a few times, I don't know how you would get the needed pace out of the inside line coming onto the straight as it makes it much more of a turn whereas the car who attacked it from out wide is already straightened up and accelerating, have you managed to make this work without any contact?

Yeah that last corner is awkward. I think they is a couple of lines you can take for the corner.
As you say if you are within range to make the move on the inside then that’s fine. But I’ve seen some come from way back diving in thinking the doors open and then slamming into the side of the car.
I’ve tried a few times to take that inside and make the past but I can never get the power down quick enough.

this has been my experience this week - top 3 in mixed rooms (if i play early in the day), bottom 5 in A rooms. i just moved up to A after a few wins this morning... if i play tonight i will again try not to be an obstacle for the people running 1:32s. i dont mind being humbled, but i can only choose the car i run fastest in those races (f-type)... in the mixed rooms i have a little flexibility. and the jaguar is the one i feel most confident getting out of the way in, so i stick with it.

the level of sportsmanship in the top half of these races, i think, has been excellent. there is some work to be done on how exactly the cars are balanced, but i've had a lot of fun this week. that said, i'm not sure it would be as fun if i was faster in the Beetle. those A lobbies are 95% rented beetles and that feels a bit joyless to me.
