Anyone else had weirdness with cars glitching all over the place today? For reference I’m in EMEA lobbies. Did 2 race C this evening, first one I was running 4th with cars jumping all over the track, next thing I know I’ve got a 4 second penalty for apparently hitting another car! Race 2, I’m running second, leader is about 4 seconds ahead, we both pit on lap 7 when I come back out suddenly they’re 10 seconds ahead. The gap then jumped to 17 seconds, then to five and the at the finish the stats said I was only 0.7 seconds from the win! All very strange.
How was your connection during the race? It sounds like you were that guy who has one red bar and makes the race really glitchy for everyone. Not on purpose, of course . . . .

I ran more laps on Trial Mountain. The BRZ feels like it was made for that track with its very flat power curve. The RCZ is also great. I think the R8 has been the fastest car for me running it stick, but the rear end keeps stepping out on me, especially inside the first tunnel and over the last hill after the back straight. Does anyone have suggestions on how to get the rear to settle down? I’ve tried former and softer with mixed results, so I’m a bit stumped! But if I get this one tweaked it may become my new favorite.

I'd just like to say.... I felt weird stuff and now the servers are a bit dodgy P2P wise.

@A7XMaverick - it's the ratios, the porsche has a longer 3/4th ratio so it winds on more speed. The Lexus has a faster rev range.

That's said they shouldn't be catching you in T1 with a manual box. They should be about .35 back

Does the McLaren get bad starts for everyone else? 4 races in a row started from pole I was either passed or side by side by turn 1. Or am I doing something wrong?
Are you on controller? Controller starts are bugged, and on a rolling start it will apply throttle slowly to full instead of instantly like a wheel would.

You can get around it by staying paused until the race starts, the computer auto drive wont have the same problem so you can quickly unpause and be at instant full throttle.

Yes must be this, thanks

Have heart: the BRZ is on rails! If I were to spend a little more time with it, with a bit of tweaking, I think I could beat my 911 time. Work on it more and I’m sure you’ll kill my time by the weekend.

I’m liking the BRZ on this track. I’ve just had not time this week to give it much attention though (working 14 hour days).

I do have a new Clubsport wheel turning up tomorrow. I wanted a larger 320mm size so may have to find some time to give it a go before the weekend is out.

Anyone have a tune for the Renault at Brands? I’m running default setup with BB to the rear to help get the car turned in especially at Surtees.

Seems we can also adjust camber and toe this week.

Apologies if there’s already been a tune posted.

This is DigitGamings tune for race C. I have not tried it personally.

Everyone in the race, including me, was showing 3 yellow bars, and I’m on a 150mb full fibre connection.

Very late to report on the last week Bathurst racing - it was amazing!
I've had plenty of practice due to TT being there a few weeks back and that really helped.
Some strategy, amazing track and new BOP really made it fun.

I was mostly in the back of very strong lobbies, trying to capitalize on other's mistakes.
Most important thing of them all though - I now have an evidence of finishing ahead of Tidgney and Super GT 😎.
As it usually goes circumstances (them crashing out) will not go down in the history books, but the results remain :gtpflag:

Not sure I've seen a millibit connection before... :mischievous:

In any case, it's not relevant. Bandwidth, once you get over a surprisingly low number, isn't important for anything except how much extra stuff you can have coming up your internet pipe in your house at the same time. 150Mb basically means two people can watch Netflix in 4K while you're racing and you won't notice an impact.

There's a whole load of other relevant things though...:

If the ISP you race with is the same one you just posted with, there were increased reports of outages beginning at around 2pm and becoming more widespread from 6-10pm (and another spike at midnight).

What are your diff settings at? I've been running mine pretty low lately and it's kept the back of the car where it's supposed to be. There's a couple spots where I have to watch breaking the inside loose on corner exit but it's made putting power down much easier in the 911. Values (top to bottom) I'm usually at are: 6/13/10

Made a difference for me, but I/that could be totally mental, too.😁

@newmedia_dev I had the weird slide issue happen to me in my first race this evening. It’s definitely an issue with the wheel. Fanatec and/or PD need to get it sorted out because this has been happening off and on for two years. What I did was pause the game and unpause it and I had control again. Since I had wall contact and damage the pause had no affect on my last place finish! But the random outages have got to stop!

Five races tonight, all of them horrible sportsmanship. Some donkey was swerving all over ruining people’s races from P5! I got taken out by him, and also in two other races by similar antics. Fanatec took me out of my first race, and I had one that was just meh. After all those horrible finishes with tons of penalties and damage I still got 2 clean race bonuses. I think the penalty system is starting to figure out who is at fault for some of the penalties, but that may have just been a random instance where things worked as they should.

All I can say is I shouldn’t have raced. Too many whackadoos out there, and one of the worst was A+. I just don’t understand. Ruined races and now a ruined mood. :grumpy:

I've just been running QT this week using the 911 like you. Here are my settings but will be way different to yours, now have a 1.49.78* so work for me.

I've seen a few streamers have this same problem. Sounds like more of a GT problem than a Fanatec one... like, it's only happening to Fanatec wheels (from what I've seen) but it only started happening since 1.43 dropped. Sounds like something got funky within GT software.

I've got the Logi Pro and have not experienced this; however, it does have a couple idiosyncrasies that I am 99% sure is due to GT and not the actual wheel.

One of them is every time I turn the wheel on (or change accounts) the True Force maxes out even though it doesn't show so on the wheel display. I run mine on 40/100, and even though it will save as such and show that, it feels like it's on 100/100. So what I have to do is go into that setting and change it by one in either direction and it's fine (go to 39 or 41 (I could then go back to 40 if I wanted but I can't tell the difference)).

I know I am not the only one that has to do this on GT7. Anyway, I don't know a lot about this stuff and far be it from me to tell anyone what to do with your wheels, but I'd wait a bit before taking action with Fanatec directly. Heck, maybe Fanatec can make a firmware update or something but from I've seen this they aren't the genesis of the problem.

Im 99% sure the wheel weirdness is Sony/PD’s ninja update to the (fanatec?) wheels in 1.43. It also introduced a trilling whistling (cracked window in the north country, type sound), which is lovely^^ and definitely wasn’t present beforehand, in the ddx.

This would be more understandable if full force was actually implemented. Now i just think pd/sony have been drunk and slacking off since the movie release.

Surprisingly, not THAT far off, lol. Most seem to be running the front firmer than I am but I just haven't been able to get it to work for me. I also know that most of my lost time is not using more of the track and maintaining more speed through the corners. That's a bravery badge I'm still working on.🤣

Got my time down to 1:50.594 last night, which felt great. Optimals are lower, I just can't stitch together a full lap of "nailed-it" to bring it home. Also ran some races with mixed results. First two I just couldn't get my 💩 together and collected ALL the penalties. Even picked-up a couple short-cuts for fun. Still managed P8/9 finishes but damn. Once I shook that off life improved and I was able to finish P4 or better. Could've had a win but gave it up. Had a moment and thought, if I'm gonna preach that winning isn't the primary goal, sometimes it's nice to show it...

Another driver and I got into a 'racing incident' going up the mountain. They got squirrely, came across the front of me and BARELY caught the corner of my bumper. Spun instantly. We finished the race and they were like "Shame!" to which I simply responded "I'm sorry" and tried to let them know I wasn't trying to pit them, but they bailed. Next race we're lined up P2 and P4. We both survive 'til the end in P1/2. I figured why not let them know how serious that "I'm sorry" was...and also make someone's day with an unexpected win.👍

EDIT
Mental Note: Some days being a controller sufferer has it's perks. Sorry you guys are (seemingly) gettin' hit with a bug.😢

Got another one, which unfortunately puts me at DR B 94%, so I should enjoy this while it lasts.

If I stick to this trend, I should be back to DR A in two races. Except of course now that I've said it, I've jinxed myself. Except... I'd rather stay in DR B, so... LOL.

EDIT: It feels kind of narcissistic to only be posting successes, but who else is there to brag to - who else would understand?

@newmedia_dev I think something is up with the Fanatec wheel, I don't have one myself but I'm seeing issues like you were describing come up on twitter now, from GTWS folks too.

@Nebuc72 that is exactly what has been happening to me!!!
Mine has also been happening at the very beginning of a quali lap. Sometimes I can’t make the turn around the chicane before the timer even starts, so I restart and it’s fine. Last night, however, it was going out as I was entering the first tunnel! I slid through a bunch of cars all the way through the esses to the next tunnel, at which point I slid sideways into the cliff before the back straight. Just a gross feeling!

I was experiencing random disconnects of my wheel long before this update, and there have been complaints about the FFB going dead at times for well over a year and a half. I think there’s something going between Fanatec and PD because whenever there’s an update for GT7 Fanatec usually works in a firmware update to weed out the problems, which are then replaced by new problems with the next GT7 update, and so on. It’s a bit of a mess, honestly, when you look at the Fanatec forums.

Is Fanatec’s FullForce (or whatever it’s called) not yet active? I wonder if there’s latent code waiting for it to get activated that is causing problems?

I'm getting more and more confident now at TM, and my rating started to climb back to high A now. Typically start at 7, and end around 7, and since there's plenty of A+, and more than one often manage to pick up more penalty than I, as a result I often end up with a bit of increase to my DR.

The Lexus works very well with LCD at the settings for the 650: 15/15/8. And actually, with a TCR at 2, even 3, you can attack very hard and not loose too much corner exit traction.

I've also done quite a bit a race A this week. Enormously fun, I have the analog handbrake on the logitech pro wheel on one of the clutch pedals, so the tire smoke is heavy in northern Italy currently. FUN!

Started the last two Daily Race B races in mixed A+/A/B lobbies, P9 and P10. The first race was fun. The second one was filled with dirtbag buttholes who pretended nobody else existed on the track.

I was forced into more boards than a hockey player. And you can guess who got the penalties - me, for having the gall to be forced into walls.

You don’t get it: you’re getting penalized for blocking their clear path into the walls!

I missed a lot of posts these past 2-3 days, so I'm getting back to work into Saturday. I do feel like I have a fresh mind and perspective now.

@GrumpyOldMan nice job on your wins. I'm not worried about getting any for TM, my focus is finishing in the top 5 of all the races I participate in. That's my goal. Looks like you found the magic touch! Don't worry, I brag about any wins I get, that's typically normal for anyone who gets a victory. That happens to me too, someone will lock me in the wall by ramming me and I'm the one that usually gets the punishment which isn't fair. They need to fix their penalty system TBH.

Looks like PD chose Laguna Seca in race B's slot next week which I suspected they would, I see that there every 4-6 weeks it seems like. I haven't even seen a race from BB raceway, Blue Moon Bay or the oval track at Daytona in a long while.

So I'll try my hand at some races at Brands tomorrow and maybe Sunday depending on how I feel, I don't want to go wild and spend 20 hours a day racing.

Love the hockey reference. Hockey rules. That is all.

OMG, Kyoto Miyabi is back!! I wonder what car will be used this time. I know it won't be the Mazda Roadster touring car. Monza should be lots of fun and enjoyment for the average skilled driver.
The 1x and 1x across the boards aren't filling me with a bunch of hope

I’m usually quite good at Brands Hatch but getting hammered this week, DR is tumbling. Choosing to believe everyone else is running a super tune, otherwise I just suck at the moment. The Slowphy living up to its name in my hands.

Holy crap...late to the party on this but is the Trophy a viable car to run in GT7?? Amazing car from a handling perspective but the lack of straight line speed made it an optimal choice NOWHERE in 'Sport. If that's the case, I might have to run a couple laps at Brands in it to blow the dust off. Miss that car but was avoiding the continued disappointment.😁

EDIT
LOL, maybe nevermind then...just saw the post from @Fezzik 🤣
