PS4 Pro.

Yeah, the new setup is weird. Lots of people enter the room twice and it looks like you can now start practice before everyone has loaded.

The race I got stuck on started 13 minutes after schedule with 6 entrants.

I guess we shouldn’t be too harsh since online gaming is such a new thing…
I've had some good results at least two or three times by just being patient (or opportunistic) and waiting until the race finally started, sometimes more than ten minutes late, having to compete with less than 10 opponents.

I sympathize with everyone who doesn't have that patience and checks out, though, because it's annoying as hell. The bad part is that you probably lose DR/SR when you leave the Daily Race lobby when it seems to be frozen but then the race gets started late. Or don't you?

Lol this dude just brake checked me on the back straight at St. Croix, when I called him out after the race he's saying 'I got clean race bonus', like you don't know exactly what you did mate.

For the life of me I don’t know what counts as a clean race bonus for this race. In one race I hit a guy (on accident), hit a wall and flew off the track and still got the CRB. I’d say the game noticed I didn’t hit the guy on purpose, but it obviously can’t make that distinction based on how it doles out the wrong penalties. So what the heck, I guess it works like the daily marathon roulette.

Exactly mate and for that reason I'd never use the game giving me a clean race bonus as a defence over a bad move, and especially in the case of flat out braking on a straight, blatantly on purpose.

I've seen the game give a penalty for that before to the guy brake checking, so I know it's in the code, assuming it's just not active at the moment either like the rest of the pens.

Anybody having luck with any non-meta cars in Race B today? I had a Lamborghini hounding me last night, so I’ll give it a shot today. Anything else to try?

Is there a way to reduce the opacity of the ghost car? It's a bit too solid when you're next to each other and makes it difficult to spot my brake markers. Would help a lot if I can make it more transparent!

I would have loved to join him in my Scirocco...😆

Might i add that it was by mistake 🤣 was really happy to start close to Nik, him in 2nd and me in 4th but the TT gets eaten in the straights 🫤 managed a P6 but was so annoyed as was looking forward to the race 😢 was a laugh though 🤣🫣

Good lord that’s quick. I’m at 19.3 and thought I was killing it.
Thanks! I get along well with Gr.4 and for some reason it doesn’t bother me to just run laps at St. Croix so I actually put a few hours in rather than my usual 30-45 minutes of qualifying. Feels good to figure out what my true pace is, as I don’t always get the time to grind out muscle memory like so many of the really fast guys do.

19.3 is still very quick and likely starts you up front most of the time as long as you’re not racing EMEA during peak hours. It’s a difficult lap to put together, the first and final corners are the biggest pain, so easy to screw them up and throw away a good lap. Same with the downhill right leading to the back straight. So many purple laps ruined by poor exits in one of those corners. I messed up more than a couple high 18’s but in the end was happy with a 19.0.

i got the bugatti to 2:23, and i left some time on the track. its a lot smoother for me than the GTR, but i still am working out exactly where to shift it.

Mustang, Aston, Jag's not bad.
I couldn’t get the Jag to behave. You made the Aston Martin look pretty good though. The Mustang has been my go-to the past few weeks so I may go back to it.

I never could get the Bugatti below 2:23. It’s got great power but just doesn’t like the esses with elevation change. If you figure it out let me know.

I ran the Citroën today. Oddly, when I tested it in time trials my fastest lap was the first one and I never could touch that time again. I have no idea what I did differently, but I never could figure it out. It’s placed fourth with it in an A lobby full of GT-Rs, so not bad in the end.

I think I may be done with the races for this week in all honesty. Maybe a couple more so I can reach DR A, but if I do that I’m setting myself up for a world of hurt next week!

Eugh the Saturday evening crowd.
After a few nice clean race B's today, the weavers, pushers & generally desperate people have come online 😂

I'd almost forgotten people sometimes did that stuff.

Oh well - I enjoyed that combo and am looking forward to brands hatch next week!

Is there confirmation somewhere of what next week's daily races will be?

Official? No. But @Nenkai posts them on Twitter (see previous page) usually on Thursday/Friday the prior week, and he's been pretty spot on thus far.

Thought that might be the case if there’s a significant DR differential. Seems harsh though, I don‘t think you should be able to come top 3 and lose DR.
The math doesn't care where you finish.

If you finish 3rd in a 12 player room you give DR to 2 drivers and get DR from 9 drivers.
If what you get from the 9 is less than what you give to the 2, you lose DR.

From the 9 you get 9x80 - 9x(avg DR difference with the 9) = 720 - 9 x (avg DR difference with the 9)
To the 2 you give 2x80 + 2x(avg DR difference with the 2) = 160 + 2 x (avg DR difference with the 2)

Say the 2 that finish in front of you have 10K more DR than you, you give 120 points. (2x80 - 2x(10K/500))
Then if the 9 behind you avg at 34K DR less than you, you get 108 points and lose 12 DR overall. (9x80 - 9x(34K/500))

If you're A+, any DR C and DR D drivers will only give you 1 point. Anyone 40K DR lower than you essentially doesn't count (unless they finish ahead of you and take 160 DR from you)

A+ to D rooms is multi-class racing.
Even in the huge A+ range, A+ at 90K doesn't get any points from beating an A+ at 50K...

I feel a bit dense, but where did the 500 come from as a divisor?

I ran a bunch (and I mean a BUNCH) of trial laps with that this morning. I love how it handles but it was easily 5mph slower on the straights. I didn’t bother taking it into a race, but I know that “race speed” is different than “trial speed,” so I should have tried it.

I’m going to avoid Saturday night, but I’ll run some races tomorrow and see if I can make an A rating, against my better judgment. I really am only a couple good finishes from getting it. I know I’m not actually that good yet, but this track agrees with me.

Good luck. I'll be trying the same next week. Again. 😆

Yeah if nothing else the satisfying flow to it that St. Croix has has made it fun to run back to back for a few races and has helped cement my place in Tier B. I typically would be running bottom half in B and yo-yo'ing between that and top running in C but thanks to this and Seaside recently I'm challenging for top 5's consistently. The bar is about halfway now so if I keep pushing hard next week as well C may be a distant memory going forward

It looks like we’ve all been having the same experiences. I was hopelessly D/S three weeks ago. The Nurburgring GP is what got me going three weeks ago (I think?) but even then it seemed like C was a long shot for me. The last couple of tracks have treated me very well, so I expect to come back to earth soon. If nothing else, I’ve learned the value of good preparation. I just wish that BoP allowed for more variety in these races.

Good luck, y’all!

It's a tricky one next week for me if the reported races are correct. I'd love to run Bathurst in Gr 3 but we're getting nothing for it, not to say it won't be fun but you have to weigh up if it's worth the time spent for no DR, we'll see what the chances of a race win are like but I'm not usually competitive there.

Race B in road cars doesn't interest me and I've always struggled at Brands. I have got better and put the effort into learning it to a level where I was running mid-pack the last time it was up, but if it's looking like the only way to build DR next week it could be a slow one for me unfortunately.

It's slightly annoying as I still have a week left of sick leave so I have the couch time to spend

Yes, my first six weeks or so of online racing were similar. After I dared to try a daily race for the very first time (I can't even remember my ranking, does it start on DR D, or even DR E?), at first I did only races A, had some good results, some wins, and my DR quickly went up. My first "big win" came, rated SR C, in a GR3 race, with the Audi (pre major updates, nobody had told me that this thing was basically undriveable, so I didn't notice🤣). I was still using x and square buttons, TC 1 or 2, and countersteer assistant, but got rid of these one after another while climbing up in the B ranks. That's where I'm stuck at the moment. Because: actual racing.
When I look at my stats, they seem to be quite decent. Especially having around 60% Top5 finishes.
That brings me to the conclusion that my results rely heavily on qualifying. I generally take the necessary time to get a decent quali lap, usually start in the front half of the grid, often P5 or better, and I benefit from that in my final results. But my actual race pace is still not good enough to make the jump into the A ranks. As soon as I get involved in heavy battle action with other drivers: nerves, and mistakes galore. That's the part I'll be working on.
