After racing Kitten and Dean up Mt Chiliad.

Is that the one with big tires.

Yes. With the mods I have on mine it sells for over $64,000. Of course it's not for sale. I love that Jeep. Stage 3 engine, turbo, race trans, armor, custom wheels, bulletproof tires... etc. It's a beast! I didn't play with the different mods to see what helped it climb the best. I did take it up Mt. Chiliad yesterday, it got there.

Yeah, it's basically the Canis Mesa with huge tires. Not to be confused with the Sandking XL, which ALSO has huge tires, but is awful off-road.

The Sandking has its own advantages, it's definitely not useless. Following a rocky stream bed the other day with Subarglue, he in his Sandking and I in my Off Road Mesa, at several points Subar had to back up and nudge my Mesa off of a rock that I was 'high-sided' on. I was following his Sandkings footprints exactly and got stuck repeatedly on obstacles the he had just crawled over. The Sandking does, however, have trouble retaining traction on steep, smooth inclines.

We have to do that again, and I would like to acquire a mesa of my own at some point today.

The Sandking is ideal for driving over guardrails and other such obstacles. A random guy online was following me on a mx bike and when I drove over a guardrail to cross a road, he just smacked against it and crashed :P

Snorkel test fail. Vehicle destroyed only after engine is submerged.

Found some mud by the dam!

Treed. Could not move then my 2 other friends rammed me out.

Different angle.

Myself and 2 other buddies after they got me out.

This seems to vary, not sure what conditions though. I recently followed a Sandking and another Mesa back and forth through the wide river next to the military fort, the water was clearly above the hood of my Mesa and it kept on pushing through. I tested it several times, and at one point the water was up to my drivers face. You could see water in the bed of the Sandking in front of me.

Might depend on speed. I was slowly creeping into the water to test the depth and got to that point and it died. As you said, it seems hit and miss.

Ah, speed and momentum is the key, then. We were by no means 'taking it easy'. :D

Yeah you can go in quite deep as long as you are moving fast enough to come back out right away. I think you only get about 2-3 seconds.

I've done some off roading in the time before I could get online. If you're crossing a deep river, you need to haul ass to make it through. Especially when the water is almost to the windows.

Tested this with SK and Jeep

You should come on some off road expeditions with Kitten and I at some point. Some trails we've done are quite tricky but are fun as hell.

That Rapid Crossing. That was Sketchy and Scary :scared:

True, but your "test" of a river crossing on foot where you ended up getting swept down the river had me in stitches.

I will, but the only car I currently own is a Vapid Stanier (Ford Crown Victoria). I've heard it's really good off road, but it doesn't have a whole lot of ground clearance, you know?

Just follow the guys with Sandking's and Rebel's around for a couple minutes and a truck will surely spawn for you. Plus, when your driving a stolen rig, you don't have to worry about bringing it home in one piece! : P

Its perfect :sly:, Goes everywhere.

Will do. 👍

The ":sly:" makes me nervous.

CallmeDan I can help find a nice truck for you to offroad in later on if you come on. I'll invite you to an Invite Only session and we can look together. :)

I wonder what vehicle you could be talking about! I don't want a Sandking, though because I hear they are really bad with their fake AWD.

Not to mention some trails they won't fit width wise.

I tried taking one through some extremely narrow trails near Mt. Chilliad, but not on the same mountain. Yeah, I rolled it and got it stuck. Eventually got it un-stuck. It was in really bad shape, so instead of abandoning it, I thought I would limp back home with it. On the way, I was speeding on the highway. I tried to go on the shoulder to pass some cars, slammed right into the edge of a small bridge, and insta-died. Respawned, went to impound, nope. Gone.

Did I mention this was a $40,000 truck I bought AND modded as Michael? No free parts for me. :grumpy:

Of course. I own that one, the Sandking XL. It's awful in off-roading since it isn't 4wd in game. That's why I stated that Rockstar should fix this in their next update.

Got an email from Rockstar that my request had been closed due to no response from me? Which is weird because I sent an email to the address they gave me and received no response from them. So I replied on their site using the link from the new email and we'll see what happens. I will also mention we need 4x4 specific DLC for the mod shop too!
