GTAV - General Off Road Discussion | LS 4x4 Crew

Ok, I was too envious of Owen's Cageless Mesa so I found this guy with a modded cars garage. He did some apartment glitch and got me a lovely roofless and Cageless MW Mesa. They must have tweaked the engine, because it's much much stronger and faster than the standard MW Mesa. I did some tests (Paleto X10 track up to Mt. Chilliad). I have tried that trail some 50 times in the last days, with all the best 4x4s, but especially the "new" SK, so I really know how high can you go with each model, with or without luck (meaning how the wheels touch the ground when you try to climb). The Cageless Mesa performed as good as the AWD SK, if not slightly better. Climbs absolutely as strong, is more compact. Unfortunately it's 10% FWD - 90% RWD as any Mesa (except the Crusader) meaning the power is unbalanced and that can be a limit in many situations. But still, I think it's my favorite now (and I still have to try the various suspension and engine mods).

If any modder is an off-road maniac, he should absolutely create a MW Crusader (the army Mesa) with the MW suspension/wheels and the tweaked engine. That monster would have 40% FWD - 60% RWD and would be unbeatable.

I should be able to make it too, only for 30 mins to an hour though because it'll be 8pm over here and I've got assignments to do.

Fwiw I won't make the event today. Christmas at the folks is happening today.

Things we could do:
Play in the mud at the Damn
The swamp area by Fort Zancuda*
Rock Crawls at a few locations
Obvious Trails rides

There is a nice rock bed on east side where clean rebel spawns. Next to NOOSE HQ.

There is another decent rock bed on west side. Take the beach and go north till it's ends. There is some real good stuff there too.

Something like close to two hours would be awesome!

sure.. It's an apartment glitch, the car owner must trade apartment while the other player is in is car in the garage.. the problem is that I have only 200k or so, not enough to buy me another 10 car house.. so.. Either somebody wires me some money or you need to find one of these modders (there are a few, they are happy to dupe their cars for free, I found them on GTAFORUM)

The guy that did it for me is named thisguyherenow, I'd suggest doing it with him, as I actually tuned down my Mesa (at first I didn't realize the engine was tweaked to tops, so I added level 1 to the engine and lost the top engine mod) .. well but you probably can do that anyway

It was just 3 people including me, so we just did some offroading in our Sandkings/Rebels.

We might do it next weekend, or we could do something else.

Sorry I haven't been active, got another job a few weeks ago, and I've been doing snow removal all day today, and probably for the next few days.

We should do a trail run with Sandkings. But here's the catch: one team of SWBs and one of XLs. They both try to climb Chiliad from the bottom of whichever side they have. Whichever team wins, uh... Wins I guess...
We'd need a referee for each team to make sure of no cheating or Tom-foolery. But I reckon this will be great fun!
