Why is the initial deadline almost 2 months away (Sept 26th)?
I'm going to go nuts shaving hundredths of a second off my time & get a couple of lucky laps out of hundreds of laps & then probably end up in too high of a division & get my butt kicked!!

Just because it's running until the 26th Sept doesn't mean you can't submit until then. do what you feel you're comfortable with and then just submit and forget it until a week after the deadline.

Can someone point me to the area in this thread that explains the outcome of the qualifier?

I've had a quick look, but i've only picked up dribs and drabs.

All GTP_Tagged members who are on the GTP PSN ID Registry are required to run this qualifier so that they can be placed into divisions. The divisions will then be used for on-line & off-line GT competitions once we have a better race environment than we currently have. If a member doesn't run this qualifier then they will be removed from the registry.

Sounds fair to me :) I will try to get another .3 out of what I have already but its gonna take me a while. Lookin' forward to racing again in GT5P with you all!

Excellent, thanks for that. :)

Just wondering know, what will change with the race structure though? There's not many choices atm, so i presume it'll be changing in some way?

Sorry for the Q's, but i'm new to it all.:indiff:

Maybe a stupid question, but do I have to do a certain time to remain in the GTP registry?

You should be more careful while picking those who get the privilege of showing off a GTP_ tag, I've been shamelessly and intentionally punt'ed at least 5 times over the course of three races earlier at HSR (the last one, to add insult to injury, during the last lap in the chicane before the tunnel while I was 3rd and working with GTP_HUN to catch up to the leader via controlled bump drafting) by some canadian imbecile that goes by the name of "GTP_Slicedcorn", even though when we had the first small contact during an early race I let him overtake my car by slowing down noticeably in the straight a lap later.

There's no fk'ing point in preaching about mannerism like 18th century virgins on these boards just to run like lamers right after on track (that's basically the point I was trying to get across in a PM I sent him afterwards which was obviously ignored, go figure), people are just trying to enjoy the game out there.

If there is a problem with a GTP driver then you can report it :)

With such a large member base, there will always be the odd bad apple. In order to deal with this, we have set up a complaints procedure. If you are unhappy regarding the conduct of one of our members, then please feel free to contact me ( Sphinx ) via PM with the following details and your complaint will be dealt with ASAP:
Members GTP_tag
Date & time of incident
Track and PP
Car driven by member
Details and any other relevant information relating to the incident

And serisously, can you NOT remember to keep profanity out of your posts? Even abbreviated. Just don't use it, for crying out loud.

Hey Sphinx, what is the point of being so secretive about our posted times? Since we will be able to see them on the Top 100 list?

There is no Slicedcorn here. Must've been a noob trying to ruin our reputation.:grumpy:

O really? If he PM'd him, I think he would know the PSN

Think about it Hamilton. Maybe this guy is just lying? There is no one on the psn network with GTP_slicedcorn. He is just making fun of his name or he just doesn't remember correctly.

I race with Slicecom all the time, and he is one of the cleanest guys I've had the honor to race with. And I mean that.

The truth will come out in the end. No one is perfect online, so one small mistake/bump from one driver could equate 'Total Carnage' to another (we've been there where one small tap makes you hit the sand and lose 5 places). It could even be from the guy two cars back that his the guy behind you to go in the sand :/. Just keep your cool guys and use the blacklist as a last resort 👍 I for one can't wait for private rooms to race with y'all!

I can also vouch for GTP_Slicecom as being a clean driver and even if he was the one who punted you i'm shure it wasnt that bad (intentional) up to the point where cu can call him an "imbecile"

Back on topic:

This track/car combo is proving to be quite challenging and i believe most will agree that the first corner is by far the trickiest one to get nailed just right with this car as it requires some slide-braking late control (and a small amount of luck ) to make the most of it . I for one know that i won't attempt that in an online race as it's far too risky ; but, if done right it's a big gainer 👍.

hi everyone. just wanted to let you know that i've changed my psn username as GTP_JGDA9RSV2 after finally fixing my internet and signing on to the network again. i had to change it as i forgot the password for my old one. anywho, hope to see you all online some day. what have i missed so far?

Hey Sphinx, what is the point of being so secretive about our posted times? Since we will be able to see them on the Top 100 list?

I think I've already addressed this question some time ago, but hey:

The original qualifier that I posted yesterday was designed to prevent anyone knowing the lap times of others because N3's were going to be used and therefore no times would've made it onto the Online database. However, PD put a spanner into the works and prevented us from using any tyres other than S2's.

Yes we can see times in the online db, but that doesn't mean we will be having a full discussion about them here or anywhere else, there will also be more members outside of the top 100 than actually in it, and we also have the secret cut off times that determine the divisions. I'm afraid that's all we can do here, so we simply soldier on with what we've got.

This is called damage limitation after the realisation that the replay method in GT5P is flawed. The recorded times shown in the Online database will of course give everyone something to aim for (nothing I can do about that now), but it won't show the times for the majority of divisions that we are planning, and therefore if any discussions took place relating to lap times for these divisions, it will enable anyone to determine the secret cut off times for each division expect for perhaps division 1. I'm afraid that's the best I can do, and I hope all this makes sense?

I think the important thing is, when you do accidently take someone out, be sure and wait around for them to pass you up. This way, even though you may have ruined their race, they will understand that is was accidental.

Yesterday I was running the 3-car HSR race. The lead driver blew a corner entry and I went inside and got about the first half of my car ahead of him. But, he recovered much better than I anticipated and came back into me. He ended up spinning out while I continued on. Now, I'm not entirely sure that was even my fault. I'm pretty sure I would be considered to have track position in that case. But, he had driven so well except for that one corner I felt like I should give the position back to him. We continued on with the race after he passed me, and then just before the finish he pulled over and hit the brakes, giving me the race. Despite the collision and the waiting we still took gold and silver.

I wish the car didn't suck. This thing is impossible to drive on sports tires without aids.

Yeah no problem man. I was just wondering, since we could see the times. Thanks.

Great track.... Great car...

With the new physics model, this should be a giant heaping spoonful of joy.

Looking forward to giving this a go, as soon as I'm off work today.

Glad to see this is finally off the ground, Sphinx. Looks like you did a great job covering all bases.

;)

The car does not suck, and it is not impossible at all, try going a bit lighter on the go pedal. 👍

No the car definitely doesn't suck, but i never have cared for it so for me this will be more ugggg then joy. I like a challenge thou so i do look forward to finally trying to figure this car out Who knows by the end of it maybe I'll like the car?
