I'd like to switch these id's so that 'GTP_Bigracer' is connected to my own gamesave, but obviously they are also connected to the online_id with PSN.

Well Steven, you will have to copy your game save to the appropriate username.
I think you can save the uber to an USB stick and then reload the uber to the other username.

My question is why do you want to switch them?
At this time in gt5p I don't think it should matter much.

What you don't want to do is delete any online progress from the uber, most important the gtp registry qualifier (if its on that save).

I would get some more replies to your question before attempting any of this though.

I believe you need to delete your game data first before you can copy game data from another id, so make sure you don't delete your gamedata from bigracer first.

You can do two things:
-Delete the game data from GTP_Bigracer, then copy your game data from bigracer to GTP_Bigracer, delete the gamedata from bigracer and copy an ubersave from a memory stick to your bigracer id;
-Or you can create a third account, copy your game data from either bigracer or GTP_Bigracer to that third account, delete the gamedata from the id where you copied the data from, then copy the data from your other current account to the id without game data. Now if you delete the game data from the id you just copied from and replace with the game data from the third account, you should have succesfully switched the game data from your two id's.

Doesn't sound too complicated, does it? :sly:

Replays are saved separately and moving the progress file doesn't interfere with this.

The best way to do it is copy the bigracer progress file to a usb stick and delete it afterwards on your bigracer account.
Then log in into the gtp_bigracer account and copy the progress file to the bigracer account.

After this copy the progress file from the usb stick to the gtp_bigracer account.

Thank you Bert, Hugo and Kenny for the help 👍

My biggest trouble is the PSN account that you cannot change within the network, at least I never saw any screen allowing you to do so. Should I delete and recreate both? I'm a bit afraid that they'll be blocked after I wiped them :nervous:

Do not delete your accounts. You can do what you want by copying/deleting the game save data.

Hugo's suggestion of using a 3rd "temporary" account is the safest way, as you can verify at each step that you haven't lost your data. You can even use this as an extra backup in case your prime save gets lost somehow (but won't help you recover from a complete disk crash).

Step 1: create account named "Bigracer_backup"
Step 2: copy save data from bigracer -> Bigracer_backup
Step 2b: Verify that Bigracer_backup save has progress data
Step 3: delete bigracer save data
Step 4: Copy uber save data from GTP_Bigracer -> bigracer
Step 4b: Verify that bigracer has uber save data
Step 5: delete GTP_Bigracer save data
Step 6: Copy save data from Bigracer_backup -> GTP_Bigracer
Step 6b: verify GTP_Bigracer save data
Step 7: delete Bigracer_backup save data (optional)

I honestly believe that you guys are thinking about this way too much.

Take Account A, copy the Save Game File (not game data file - that is different and much, much bigger) to a USB drive. Delete Account A Save game file.

Log into Account B, copy Save Game File to Account A. Delete Account B Game Save file. Copy save game file on the USB drive to Account B.

--------------------------------

If you are truly, truly paranoid you can create a third account on your PS3 to use in place of your USB drive so that you can actually verify the data is still good.

I dunno, maybe having six accounts on my PS3 (JP, EU, AU, HK, and 2 US) for myself has me so used to this stuff that it is second nature.

All I can ask is, why are you actively playing two different games yourself? My personal suggestion is to pick the one you want to use the most and just use that one.

Thanks Vaxen and Foolkiller. What I'm unsure of is how that will affect the PSN accounts that are connected to both accounts and that are not changeable.

Like how? The only thing connected to your account are your personal account info, your leaderboard records, and any GTTV stuff you have bought. Neither of those are reliant on a save file.

I've just sent the registration form as GTP_minimal.
I'm fed up with those taking me out, or braking in the front of me in the straights.

I am not an enthusiast tuner, but maybe an upper-middle class driver enjoying pro physics w/o any e-gadgets. And I hope we gonna get closed events soon for fair drivers!

My trouble is that I also want to swap the PSN stuff like the wallet with some money in it and the list of network 'friends'. Fumbling around with the save game data won't change anything now will it?

No, you'll just have to solve that manually after you swapped your game data. So is it really that necessary that you want to switch your game data?

If you focus on your own game now mainly, you'll have enough money and cars before the GTP events are started. Prologue doesn't take that long to complete :sly:

I guess you're right, Hugo, I might just as well leave it as it is. I just have to remind myself what ID to log on with when starting the PS3 session so that I'll be using the GTP_ tag when needed, e.g. when trying to improve on my Registry qualification lap.
Thanks for the advice anyway guys

No that isn't included in the save file. Friends are easy to just re-add though. Now, as for wallet stuff, I have no clue. I never keep a balance in my wallet, so I can't say.

That is what I do. I have a FoolKiller account and a GTP_FoolKiller account. On my FoolKiller account I rarely play GT5P, unless I am wanting to do something real quick. On my GTP_FoolKiller account it has only one game that gets used, GT5P.

So, basically, unles I am playing GT5P I am on my FoolKiller account, which is also where I do my Folding@Home stuff.m So, when I sit down to play something it is already on that account.

Need some help! Do you need to be a member at GTPlanet, with your GTP_FLASH48?
So you can send in your Qualifier Time?

I think Sphinx's first post in the Qualifier thread explains it quite well .

And the second one underlines it :sly:

Just checked the registration list and you are on it , so you can submit your time now .

:)

i have created a GTP_ PSN ID but the sites telling me that i don't have the sufficient rights to register. i had already registered on gt planets forum so can anyone tell me where i've gone wrong?

You need to have a post approved on GT Planet's forums first before your PM box becomes active for you to be able to send a message to Sphinx to register your GTP_PSN_ID.
I've just approved your post above, and you'll now need to wait an hour or so for the server to refresh before it logs your new status as an approved member and activates your PMs.

Welcome to GT Planet.

thanx m8, i'll sort it all out 2morra. i've never used a forum before as i don't like pc's. You agreed to this when you signed up here:

No text speak allowed, the reasons are explained there.

Thanks mate, I'll sort it all out tomorrow. I've never used a forum before as I don't like pc's. (filling in forms are a pain ) So basically I've been struggling to navigate this site. Having said that this is probably the best forum I've seen and I'm a GT nut so I'll be using this one often.
Anyway thanks again mate. N30NBLU3

No slang words that promote laziness, ie; “r”, “u”, “plz”, etc. will be tolerated. Decent grammar is expected, including proper usage of capital letters. Repeated violations will be grounds for suspension and/or permanent removal from the forums.

This post is not to offend you.
But I read in your post that you want to use this forum often and txt speak isn't tolerated around here.
If you don't want to get moderators on your back it would be best to use proper grammar.

o.k, mate no offence taken.

But please don't get on my back for spelling.

The best way to keep up off your back is to spell properly :)👍.

That aside, welcome to GTP and enjoy your time here! As long as you follow the rules and guidelines, we're usually a friendly bunch.

But please don't get on my back for spelling.

As they've already said, we'll lay off if you do your best to spell correctly. 👍
(A typo here & there is understandable, but deliberately posting "txt" gibberish isn't.)
You're based in England according to your location, and based on my experience of living there for 26 years, people there speak, read and write English! ;)

For the benefit of people like DustDriver who're from non-English speaking countries, but make an incredible effort to learn and use our language (Sometimes even better than the native speakers!), we prefer it if you post in clear, understandable English on these forums.

Again welcome to GT Planet, have fun settling in, you've already seen how friendly members can be here, 3 of them just gave you a friendly nudge in the right direction so that you stay out of trouble with the staff (and we're not that bad either!!!!)

Hi

I am new here but not new to GT4 & 5 Prologue - 100% on both & really looking forward to more online racing, especially once a league is going!! Sick of drivers crashing into me after I overtake, that's just so childish...Love Suzuka, love the F40 & F430, can't wait for the Nordschleife on GT5, driving it in GT4 helped so much when I did some laps for real in '05 in a Mazda 3 (slow up hill).

Look forward to talking with you all.

Cheers,,

Welcome to GTP!! Hope to see you on the track..

in reply to post #1014, I never used to write like that but I've gotten so used to writing like that in the subject boxes on PSN that now it's force of habit. I completely understand where you are all coming from though. A friend of mine has recently joined the GTP_ team and he told me that we were likely to get some good clean races which is why I joined. I'm sure that the majority of the people that use this forum are sick of the idiots that should stick to Burnout. I must admit that I skipped the rules to as most of the time they are just a long winded way of saying don't be rude. Anyway I'll look forward to seeing you all on the track and thank's again for the welcome. on a different note I've just been on to the arcade-time trial in the F30 and I've noticed that Icannot use the quick tune option. Is there a way of quick tuning my car in another game mode for it to be carried over? I never use the arcade mode and I'm just making sure we are all on the same playing feild.

The only options allowed in the qualifier are specified in the qualifier post. You can select transmission (AT/MT), Active Steering, ASM, Traction Control, and/or Driving Line. No tuning is allowed or possible. This ensures a level playing field for all.

Yeah i thought as much. I saw alot of GTP_ scores in the top 100 and I've got to say i was very impressed as they are a good 3-5 seconds faster than my best time.

Qualifier Rules:
  • Do not discuss privately or post publicly any of your splits or final times, or anything relating to this qualifier that would help another driver to improve on his/her final lap time. By taking part in this qualifier you therefore agree to this very strict ruling
