Yes it is, but I predict about losing 1/3rd of members come the qualifying deadline.
Are you taking bets?
If so what's the subject line for the PM?
Will you be making clear instructions on how to enter these bets?
Will I have to read these instructions
Should I have a gtp tag to participate in this bet?
When is the due date?

:D ;)
AMG.

lol, i sent my qualifier and my PSN in the same PM.. :dopey:
i got a pm back saying i was put in the registry so i assumed everything was ok, but i re-read the PM today and scrolled down to see that i still need to send in my qualifier...
sorry if i caused any confusion/annoyance :crazy::ouch:

:sly:I'm probably going to send my PM to sphinx tommorow. I'll read the rules again just to make sure no mistakes are made:sly:

I'm happy with the results. 👍

I believe I already registered my PSN ID a little while ago, the PM will be for the qualifier.

If you're not entirely sure, better check the registry thread to see if your GTP tag ID is in there, otherwise your PM for the qualifier will be rendered useless. 👍

A tiny mistake dear Rage ... his name is Sphinx but you may call him 'his lordship' if you don't know how to use capitals 👍

Hello All. This is my required first post to get PM privileges in hopes to apply as a GTP racer. Pleasure to be on-board.

:grumpy: I get pretty annoyed when people point out mistakes that don't really matter! It still says Sphinx and it's clear for all to see.

One little mistake and you go post about it! :yuck: Maybe I was busy, and had to do it quick or somthing.

I'm not stupid and will use correct punctuation from here.

Hello this is my first ever post, I have only taken part in a few online races in GT5P and have had some awfully frustrating times racing against absolute dirty, cheating novices.

Even after taking them cleanly they try to screw up my races multiple times, or attempt to push me off at corners where I braked perfectly etc. I would love to be part of this GTP online community else I fear in the fututre I will be destined to race imbeciles online, or more likely and preferable not race online at all. I will just continue to feably attempt to get somewhere on the top 20 of any time trial event since my PS3 was a few months old!

I hope this post is sufficient and approved to enable me to PM and register as a GTP GT5P online member, if its not already too late?!

Welcome to GTP, Rover200.
Your ability to send and receive private messages will be enabled shortly. 👍

Nobody says you're stupid, and I tried to loosely point out to you that the GTP mods appreciate and promote the correct use of punctuation, capitals, no-slang/street language or abbreviations that are difficult to understand 👍 :)

Don't you think I know that?
Nobody is perfect. Nothing is perfect, you can't expect someone not to make a mistake every now and then. >:/ You can't expect an admin to fix every tiny mistake, even down to a single capital letter to a whole bad paragraph.

I'm getting tired of ppl trying to be Mods when they arn't.

I don't think most people here are trying to be mods - rather, it seems that these members are encouraging proper use of grammar in posts. These members are helping new members understand how important proper grammar is in these forums.

This does two things: first, it usually works, and the offending member uses good grammar from them on. Second, it cuts down on the amount of work the mods have to do to get people to pay attention to the AUP. Also, a helpful reminder from another member is less intimidating than a reminder from someone with a big police badge under their name.

These forums are mostly self-policing, at least when it comes to grammar. Because of this, the mods (hopefully) can focus on other things that are more important.

That said, I don't think the error you made would have caused the mods to remind you about the AUP unless you were a frequent offender. Besides, from the "his lordship" part of his post and the smiley face after that, I think Bigracer was just joking around with you anyway 👍.

/self-righteous speech :)

EDIT: Sphinx has a sentence fragment in post #974. Maybe someone should remind him about the AUP ;).

Perhaps you should read this section of the AUP again...

No slang words that promote laziness, ie; “r”, “u”, “plz”, etc. will be tolerated. Decent grammar is expected, including proper usage of capital letters. Repeated violations will be grounds for suspension and/or permanent removal from the forums.

The word you were looking for is people.

Calm down, people. We pretty much see that Southend Rage(how ironic in this situation) overeacted to tiny and humorous reminder so no need to go any further.

Thank You. Funny sig by the way

Perhaps I felt I should have not been reminded? HOW IN HELL was it humorous??

Just to remind you, some people do not find somthing aimed at them funny as much as people standing by.

It's a bit like you trip over and everyone laughs at you. It wasn't your fault, but they still laugh! (Bigracer)

If you mods ignored tiny spelling errors, you wouldn't be such a bunch of donkeys and you would be doing what was really needed from you. Which happens to be taking the piss out of people who have the guts to start an argument and then banning them. (Which is true) Just watch)

I may not have been here as long as you guys, but now I am GOING I leave thinking "What a bunch of uptight idiots!"

Power can never ever be fair when a human being has it.

I don't find that it was aimed at you funny, I found what he said to be funny.

Also, you need to calm down. He was not trying to be a mod so you didn't need to blow up. And if we gonna continue this conversation, then PM me or contact me on AIM. AS I said before, we don't need to drag this any further. Now hopefully, the next post is back on topic.

Have you finished? Good!

Now let's get back on topic before I start acting like a "donkey" and grab that carrot you just dangled in front of me.

Following numerous complaints in the International events thread, with no response from the guilty parties may I suggest a message in the OP similar to

Drifting Online:

NOTICE TO ALL DRIFTERS:
Whilst we welcome all accepted styles of driving in GT5P, we do however expect some form of understanding for those who are trying to race. We therefore ask all drifters to refrain from drifting near any drivers that are trying to race by giving them plenty of time to get clear. Also, please do NOT drive/drift in the opposite direction as everyone else. Any complaints received due to any of the above will be taken very seriously in future..

... regarding organised events for underpowered cars, specifically driving off the sides of the track at the start and letting the 750pp cars by before beginning their race.

A few people have suggested not starting at std race times (00,15,30&45) but I feel that, whilst this would suit me and the rest of the board fine, it's not just the board we have to think about. Remember that these guys are wearing tags and, thus, representing this community. If they are annoying some of us, and we know about the situation, how do you think it looks to someone who has no idea about GTP, coming across them for the first time?

Bear in mind that PD have now made it impossible to quit mid-game, without coming right out of the game and losing any prize money you may have accumulated so the only option you have is to wait 10 mins and hope you get an actual race, with some actual competitors, next time. Strikes me as complete selfishness on the part of the slow car drivers at best, and downright abuse of the game at worst.

I know this is fast becoming a pet hate of mine, so if I'm on my own I'll shut up about it, but I don't think I am so I'm throwing this out to see if we can reach some kind of compromise.

I think I will be registering for the GTP tag soon, i've been contemplating it for a week now. After I started racing against the people with the GTP tag the honesty and racecraft was amazing and i knew if i dont get a GTP tag i will regret it.

It's simple, consideration should be given by both parties.

If one is driving an overly underpowered car then please move over to the right hand side at the start of the race to allow the high powered cars to pass cleanly and unhindered.

Consideration (accepting that they also have the right to be there) should be given to those who wish to drive underpowered cars.

Retaliation is an entirely personal choice and is not something we can control. However, If one wishes to retaliate over an incident instead trying to deal with the matter by contacting them, or reporting it to me, or both, then you must accept the consequences if you're reported yourself.

Sorry for looking like a moron but I have a question some of you might be able to help me with.

I have two PS3/PSN id's:
'bigracer' is the one with my own gamesave
'GTP_Bigracer' is the one with a downloaded übersave

I'd like to switch these id's so that 'GTP_Bigracer' is connected to my own gamesave, but obviously they are also connected to the online_id with PSN.

Some help or referrals to earlier posts on this would be appreciated. Thanks! 👍
