Guys... what if I end up qualifying in Div 2 again.... :nervous:

that is more appropriate :P

Forgive me if my answer seems a little incredulous... don't you know anything about GTPlanet's WRS? :odd:

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/gtp-wrs-comprehensive-guide.180298/

Of course WRS has expanded since that was written and now has its own online racing section too:

No i don't, im new here. Thanks for the link, i just quick read it and learned some more. Looking forward to take part in more WRS! :)

I'm new to GTP, as you may be able to tell, and I have a quick question. Just a hypothetical, but what would happen if one of my replay laps was considered to be "dirty" by the OLR Team? Would I be able to re-qualify in the next batch of qualifiers after the initial registration period ends on January 13th? Or... would I be permanently banned from qualifying?

I'm 100% sure that my first replay was clean but only 90% that the second replay was clean. I know that we're supposed to consider it dirty if there is any doubt, but I personally considered it clean based on the GTP rules.

Thanks in advance!

Short answer is, yes, you will be able to re-qualify. 👍 The rules are pretty clear though, so just make sure its 100% clean. :sly:

My thoughts exactly. If we both make d1 I'll race ya for last.

That place belongs to me

 Honestly though, divisions aren't the end all. There are always strong drivers from a lower division to help keep things 'interesting'. Community first, competition first second.

My only question is... all you folk who where ready to submit on day 2, how much time have you gained since then?

I knew I wasn't ready to submit the first day I ran the combos but my answer may give you an idea. The first session I did was at Brands Hatch and lasted for 3 hours. After that session I was happy with the lap I had done. And the lap I submitted is roughly half a second faster than this one.

The day after, I ran Willow Springs for the first time and once again I came up with a lap that I was pretty happy about after around 4 hours. The lap I submitted is 6 tenths of a seconds faster than the first "good" lap I had.

Honestly, yes in my case, it made a difference of 1 to 1.5 seconds over both laps and it's more than likely change the sub-division I'll be put into (bronze instead of silver, for example), or even the division but I'm sure that some of the guys can almost reach their maximum in one session, especially on more simple tracks. After the first session, it may very well just be a matter of stringing all the sectors together, and again, some drivers can obviously keep their calm and do it in less time than most people. Just think about GT Academy. How much time did it take for the best guys to post the first 2'16,xxx lap? A few days, not more... but still the fastestest time of the competition was a 2'16.3xx if I'm correct. So after a few days only, some guys posted a lap .6 seconds slower than the overall best. And remember we had to learn new physics and a new track!

My point is, and correct me if I'm wrong, that you seem to accuse these people of not giving a full effort (or you are curious and I'm paranoid and seeing monsters everywhere lol), when in fact, the difference in lap times versus time invested may as well be quite small. But again, sometimes magic happens and you seem to learn new tricks to go faster the more you try and it is well known that practice makes perfect! I myself will stick to that quote lol!

I haven't had a go of either combo since my entries were accepted, but I'm sure I could still gain a second or two(based on how far behind I usually am from the top of leaderboards, I'd say there are more than that:lol:), I knew this before I sent them. My main reason for not going for those seconds is that I spent the amount of time I'd imagine being able to devote to the WRS on a weekly basis on my qualifying sessions.

Because now the real race starts haha, and its only going to be more intense.
I see that I made a combined version of the 2 things I was thinking of writing.

Why is it unfortunate? + What is unfortunate about it? = What is it unfortunate? :dopey:

I was just hoping that was not some other issue with your replays/submission that was causing you regret.

Its also unfortunate to be accepted, because one can always improve. There is no such thing as the perfect lap. So by submitting even tho you think your best lap has been achieved it never has.

Revisited the Willow Springs half of the combo and gained more than I thought I would have been able to. Now to revisit Brands. Getting close to submitting.

@Gravitron Hey buddy, how much time you put in on the qualifier? I'm hoping we get in the same division again, but I doubt i will be any contest in GT6. I'll only beaable to do one and dones on the weekend ls. This new job is kicking my rear and I haven't even been able to take my game out of the cellophane wrapper.

I didn't really record time-spent very well, but it did feel equal to a WRS week for each. When I go into the "Stats" area, Brands Hatch GP is listed as my "Favorite Course" at 600+ miles. I tested carefully and found that the Arcade/Qualifier laps count toward that stat. So I must have spent less than 600 miles at Streets of Willow, and all the other courses as well. But since I've been using Brands Hatch GP as a testing ground for other cars as well, I most likely spent less time than "600 miles" on it in the BMW. Are you confused yet?

Other stats:

Total Distance: 5652.9 miles
Total Driving Time: 82.3 hrs

Umm, yeah, I like this game. :D

 I'm not worried about the average...I sometimes forget to pause while I walk away and take care of household bidness, or just think about how I need to redo the current AI race with less power and crappier tires.

And Brands GP has two killer hairpins and a bunch of other turns that are make-or-break, hence why it's a great test track. 👍 Brands Hatch Indy just has the 1 hairpin after turn 1.

The game keeps track of average speed?

Edit: Nevermind. :dunce:

I need to play the game more though... :indiff:

No but using the numbers from the stats you can get an average Miles/Hours=Ave 👍

Edit: Too late :D
