I think Fetchy can tell you when you submit? I remember seeing something about someone submitting and Fetchy saying no because the settings weren't set to real? Can't be 100% though.
Yes, but submitting with a replay with incorrect specs will result in you getting only one more chance to submit with correct ones.

I've decided to run these for the first time, but I'm not sure that I'll be able to make it to the actual events/races most times. We'll play it by ear, for sure, but the ability to join when I'm bored will be a plus.

That's frustrating. I am sure that part 1 is clean, and looking at my replay, I spent most of the lap understeering all over the place.
Anyway, good luck to all, and I am looking forward to finding out just how slow I am.

Think I'll be pushing it to get my times submitted, I'm reasonably happy with my Willow effort but only done about 10 laps at Brands so far :scared: I'll try to get some more track time tonight when I get home from work but may just have to wait for round 2 to submit :(

So, I'm about to Copy the replay data I exported from PS3 to USB.

One quick question, though: Does the order I copy them in matter? Does Willow Springs replay have to come before Brands Hatch?

P.S., I'm fairly confident in my Brands Hatch lap being one of the best looking crap-laps ever  It looks amazing, but is probably super slow.

Nope doesn't matter but they must be attached to your conversation (note to fetchy) as separate zip files. Don't put both in one zip file else it will be rejected 👍

👍 Thanks. That is - I think - the one thing Oink didn't mention. I'm following his steps word-for-word, so it should go through well. I double checked the grip redux. and tires, so, I should be fine for everything else, too.

Thanks again.

Edit: Accepted :) 👍 Thanks @Argon

Thanks again.

You're welcome, it was in the submission instructions 👍 :)

Submission: (Now open!!!)

  • img.php
  • Deadline for initial submission is Monday, January 13th at 11:59 pm GMT. The registry will be closed to submissions for a short time after this deadline.
  • If you are unsure of the deadline click here.
  • You can only submit one time. Be sure you give it your best effort the first time.
  • To submit your time, start a new conversation with WRSFetchBot (Subject title: GTP_WRS Qualifier)
Provide your PSN ID and country details, like this:

PSN: GTP_EDK
Country: USA

Then attach both 'Best Lap'/'Ghost' replays in zip file form, one file for each replay. It's important that you use one Zip file for each replay, 2 separate Zip files. You will get an automated response within 15min, letting you know whether your submission was accepted, or if you had an error. If you have an error, don't panic. Just review the instructions for submission and submit again. If you are having trouble and cannot figure it out, please post herewith your question.

It's very important that you not discuss times or post replay files in the public forums.

I just don't see that part. I must be blind... Anyways, I've sent the fetchbot the Conversation, I think everything will be in good order. Pretty sure my laps are clean, I used way less curb than I normally would, even to the point of not even using the curbs in some tricky spots. :)

Look at the text in bold in the middle of the paragraph

It doesn't specify that it does or doesn't need to be attached in a specific order, though. If there's a loophole, I'm likely to find it. I study racing rulebooks in real life to find loopholes, and - although I won't find loopholes for cheating in GT games - I will probably also find the loopholes in these rules, too. :P

Ok I'll give you that but it does say separate zip files. Glad you got it figured out now though 👍

Ok, now I am worried. On my run, I had one (the left rear for sure) half off the rumble strip. Half of the tire was on the rumble and half was off. So you are saying that is dirty?

I understand the ruling at Willow with the line blured due to the dirt and all, but a tire half on the rumble was considered clean in GT5, but now is dirty?

The post clearly shows the Megane at Willow as being dirty with half the tire still on the line, but the BMW as being dirty with the tires clearly completely off the rumble.

Could you please clarify what you mean Lucas?
I did the same thing as you (except it was my left front tire). It looked like it was slightly on the green/concrete but the majority was on the rumble strip... I'm glad to know that it's considered clean! I'm a GTP newbie, by the way, so I'm not familiar with GTP rules from GT5. But at least we're in the clear!

Submitted my times and it was accepted. Looking forward to this! I'm now sure how long I have to wait to join the unoffical online races at this point. I'll be away next week in Arizona for Barrett Jackson for 4 days, so hopefully I can join up in a couple of Wednesdays

I have a problem, i looked at both my qualifier lap replay again and...

it now feels like Christmas when i was 10 years old...
i want my christmas present now!!:grumpy:

The deadline is close i just wanted to say goodluck all

Just submitted.

Don´t know what to think, because i know i left some good tenths on the track
but i´m just not capable at this moment to get them.

Guess the break i took left some good quality rust (or maybe i´m getting older :) )

Even so, happy to be back and good luck to all !!!

I can't upload my replays because there is no picture for my replays! How can I fix this?

Good to see you back, Joao. 👍 If I spelled your name wrong it's because you've been away too long. :P

That's a new one. Have you watched oink's video?

Well I'm submitted and with much joy and sorrow I have to say that I'm not the king of the roost in my game room :banghead: my little rocket ship after all these years has successfully ripped the crown off my head :bowdown:and will represent Team LeftyWright and quali faster then me and I couldn't be happier :) I think I can let the cat out of the bag for my team as far as our inter team rivalry goes :nervous:

I was wondering when my efforts working w/ him would finally pay dividends and he is starting to understand what it takes when you apply yourself and stay calm and focused. I would never have been able to work so directly w/ him in coaching his every decision without this forums efforts as a training platform. I constantly work to keep him interested so as not to burn him out.

The variety and diverse use of the game plays so well to not only exposing us to the different parts of the game and different cars but the competitive aspect of the WRS program means that there is always a surprise ahead. Thanks again to everyone who makes this all happen and "Good Luck" to those who will quali and show up week in and week out . This place is the best :gtpflag:

"Excuses, excuses." :sly:

I've just submitted mine as well, good luck to you, Little, and everyone else. 👍

I'm now ready to submit, will be doing so very shortly.

Spent a few hours today to improve my BH lap, knocked off over a second, I believe. But I could not get every corner right in the same lap. Probably leaving 2 or 3 tenths.

When I told myself I was finished, I reviewed my best lap and saw there was a spot that might take a while to check. So ran a few more laps until I got a better one (by 0.024s) that would be easier to check. Wanna stay on the stewards' good side :D

Not going back to WS, I'm done. Good luck everybody!

EDIT: ACCEPTED

You don't look all that rusty to me. ;)

Well I spent a couple more hours today running laps of both parts I didn't have as much time as I would have liked splitting my time between iRacing and GT6 and only so much time to race :(

Submitted and accepted looking forward to seeing you all on the track

I just got wind of these qualifiers...which ends soon. Should I try to submit times tomorrow morning or wait for the next qualifier? and when will that be?

Well, I submitted my times a couple of days ago. First time trying the WRS as I only joined the forum in November. Have to say I struggled a bit with it (well, not the cars...except for the Megane, really not what I expected of it) as I am not used to time trialling without a time to aim for (only used to doing seasonal trials where I have a time to aim for even if it is too fast for me). First time driving both cars, had to do the circuits in a car I knew well to get a benchmark time to aim for.

Pretty happy with both laps, though my Brands one was much better as it is my favourite circuit. I know both times are used to determine where you are in the divisions but am wondering what happens if, for example, you set a Division 3 time at one track but a Division 5 time at the other? Do you get put in Division 4? Am not too bothered but just wondered about it.

Anyways, good luck to everyone and hope you all did well.

As far as I understand it, once this qualifier is closed, there will be a short break (a few weeks) then qualifying is opened again. I think it is an ongoing thing so you can qualify at any time but, in terms of the divisions, you will be behind the others who submitted to the initial qualifier (like a Nascar driver who joins, say in Round 5 of the Championship...the other drivers already have points so he would be playing catch up).
