Just out doing some shopping with the wife. I'm in a fairly large department store right now. We were shopping for cat food when I heard a familiar noise. "Feed the woooooorld". Safe. But for how long? I have heard cover versions of just about every "christmas classic", but this was the first time I'd heard an original version. Thankfully, it was not the song I have been attempting to avoid, but i sensed that danger was imminent as the song was almost over. I did what any brave man would do and jumped on the elevator to the roof to take sanctuary in the rooftop smoking area.

Yes, I do take this seriously.

Adding onto my displeasure is the fact I knew I was being Whammed while being Whammed but couldn't do anything about it. What was I going to do, bolt out of the supermarket? No! I was in the snack aisle.

What made it worse is my mom started singing bits and pieces of it, so not only was I officially Whammed but I was secondhand Whammed as well.

I was confident that I won't be Whammed. I hardly go shopping, and the only radio station I listen to plays only "Alternative" music, never Christmas music.

But today rocked that belief to the core.

I was driving today, with the radio volume set on low, when I suddenly realize that the current tune sounds a lot like Last Christmas. I mentally run through the songs to the tune, and damn it matched.

Thankfully, it was merely a poor cover of Last Christmas, but I was close to being Whammed.

That same radio station is running a survey online on what listener's opinions. Perhaps I should give them a earful about almost getting Whammed. 💡

Whammed! for the second time by BBC News of all things this morning. I embraced my first Whamming by singing along in true George Michael fashion, but the second time wasn't cool. It was the Geordie business woman singing it full blast in her Fiat 500 whilst reporting on the 'black box' you can get from insurers.

Well I have been whammed a few more times since my first one. A few of the better ones are channel surfing I saw "Worlds craziest Guinness world records" and Wham was a background song! And today at work they were really struggling so I stayed back a bit and got Whammed for doing some overtime!
