Went to an autozone to get a new battery after the Rogue wouldn't start. Heard "We wish you a marry Christmas", " Mary did you know?" And "Joy to the world", but no Wham!
TB
How long did it take to buy a battery?!?

It's funny, because the place of work I was Whammed! at was a battery shop.

It once took me half an hour to get one guy out the door with a battery(before I started installing), so I believe it.

Well, work finally changed the lobby playlist so it's not 70 country songs. Sounds like 30 Christmas songs (and for whatever reason, "Downtown" is in there) and fortunately no Wham. Only (maybe?) one close call in over three weeks.

I made it to the end of November, but I'm not sure how much longer I'll last. Haven't heard much Christmas music yet, but I'm sure that'll change in the next few days. Time to go and charge my ipod...

Played with fire, staying at a food court at a mall for 3 whole hours. Nothing. Why I was at a food court for 3 straight hours, I have my reasons.

No Wham in two good days of work.

Although, I will say, I was too tired to actually understand what song was being played over the PA, only one I actually did recognize was a U2 song.

I should get to bed...

Wham! Update 2:

Still safe from the song. It's going to be harder here now because all of the department stores and radio stations are playing christmas songs at full force.

The same thing is happening to me. I hardly ever pay attention to the songs that play over the speakers. When I do pay attention to them, it's not Last Christmas, thankfully. Maybe my subconscious causes me to ignore the song once it starts playing. Would that be considered cheating?

I wouldn't think so. YOU don't hear the song, you probably don't hear much at all, so you can't truly know. That said, don't trust your subconscious, as if the song does play, it will probably register immediately. Time will slow down, the world around you will faze-out, and you will be standing there, alone, in a Wham-induced trance.

Then I may or may not be doing the same thing. I'm not sure. Maybe the song just isn't playing where I happen to be at a certain point, like when I hung out in a food court for 3 hours today. Or both.

Well, so long as we're being honest about it, I think it would be fair to say it wouldn't count if you zoned out and didn't recognize it had it been playing.

Anyway, got another whammo yesterday. I'll see how many more times I get the whammer for the 9-hour shift tomorrow. Will update the count tomorrow night.

My quota for the entirety of the Christmas season is to reach 30 whams. That is by no means a calculated number. I might sit under 20 if I don't get a lot of shifts, or I might exceed this otherwise. This will depend on my manager.

So far, so good. Have not listened to radio, only played a few games and watched a bit of TV. I will try to watch the Doctor Who Christmas Special, please pray to god Wham! is not on there.

Calling it Last Christmas, you can almost guarantee that it will include said song. It'll be down to the Whammed watching it and passing on the message as to whether the song is in or not, if you can trust us.

All season last year I was hit five times...This year I'm already at four and it's not even December.

Survived a Christmas fayre and watching tv with friends and family. I felt sure it would be this weekend, but now I'm feeling confident, not complacent.

Just had a close call when I was at GameStop. They were playing Christmas music, and I hear the lyrics to Last Christmas, only to find out it's Taylor Swift.

Had a very close call today. While driving to the store, I was certain the song was starting to play, so I slammed the power button on the radio.
I'm not taking risks on whether or not it's a cover.

OP
  • Hearing any part of the song counts as a whamming. If you are unsure of the song's origin, keep listening to find out if it's a Wham! version or a cover/remix.

Well, the station I listen to at home seems to play Mariah Carey's "All I want For Christmas" a lot but thankfully no Wham! yet. The station I listen to in a car plays only rock music so I should be set. Of course, now that I said that, the rock station I listen to will probably play Christmas music as well.
