I agree with you, I could tell where the funny parts were supposed to be but the funny just didn't happen. Rather sad when a black comedy(Informant) is "funnier" than a normal comedy.

Also, as far as I know the only true part about it is that the government did research paranormal power, that's about the extent of it though. I know there was a documentary on the disc, but the movie was bad enough.

Worse thing about it is the trailers are what hooked me because they were downright hilarious.

Every one of those rubbish WWE movies featuring wrestlers who want more money. That and Cheaper By The dozen 2.

I don't get all the hate for Tokyo Drift. Not the best movie ever made, sure, but I thought it was fun. And I certainly thought it was better than any of the other Fast and Furious movies...

Anyway, here's my 10:

Armageddon
Darkness Falls
Epic Movie
House of 1000 Corpses
I Am Legend
Species 2
Star Wars Episode III
Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny
The Happening
Ultraviolet

Why?
I could kind of understand why you might hate it because of the ending or something, but that is in my Top 10 favorite movies of all time. Other than that I agree that they were awful, especially with The Happening.

My list:
1. Disaster Movie(You know why)
2. Epic Movie(Just another crappy, half baked parody movie)
3. The Happening(Mark Wahlberg seems to ruin everything other than "Shooter", but even with a great actor The Hapening would have been awful)
4. Redline(The Lamborghini doing the back flip is where I stopped, not sure what happened after that, I didn't even see the landing because I had changed the channel)
5. You Got Served(Do I need to explain myself here?)
6. Snakes on a Plane(Same as above)
7. Dragon Wars(so much potential but ruined by....well, everything.)
EDIT: 8. The Last Airbender(Thanks for reminding me of that one niky.)
Hmm, well that's about it for now.

I don't have a lot on my list because I can excuse terrible acting and little to no plot, as long as the special effects and action are able to make up for it. Don't get me wrong, I love a good story in a movie, but if I walk into something like Transformers 2, I'm not expecting a mind blowing story that will keep me guessing until the very end, I'm expecting a 2 hour long giant exploding robot fight, and that's what I'll get.
I only name movies that I truly despise.

I don't have a 10 worst list exactly but I just remembered one which should be on it: Eragon, simply painful.

A few more: All Conan movies after the first (which is actually my favorite movie in so many ways), many sequels, especially the Police Academy's, anything with Steven Segal or Chris Kattan, unfortunately most movies with Robin Williams or Jean Claude Van Damme, most low budget horror flicks, and anything with talking animals as main characters.

"I Am Legend" had the bones of a good movie and a good source story... but how am I to take seriously a zombie-survival drama (yes, I know... not zombies) which starts out with a very blatant Ford Mustang commercial? Could be worse, though... it could be "I, Robot," which not only completely missed the point of the source material, it took it, ran with it, turned it upside down and spit it out peppered with even more inane product placement schemes.

"Epic Movie" was incredibly bad, but "Disaster Movie" and "Meet the Spartans" were worse. It took me several tries to actually finish "Disaster Movie", and even then, I've only seen half of it. (Skipped the middle... completely uninteresting)

"House of 1000 Corpses" still haunts me as one of the biggest wastes of a movie ticket I've ever had the misfortune to experience. I still can't believe I got talked into watching it. Sure, it's a homage to "old school" schlock-horror... but that's the kind of stuff you watch at home when drunk... not the stuff you go out specifically to watch.

"The Happening"... I never watched it in the theater. By that time, I'd been burned too many times by Shymalan to get suckered into it... but even by his very low standards, it's incredibly bad.

Those looking for something new to hate: Try "The Last Airbender." A movie where Shymalan takes a cartoon known for its involved storytelling, rich background and comedic twists and turns it into a farce. Thank goodness there will be no sequels, as even the actors hated the results.

I'm a fan of some of Shyamalan's work, but "The Crappening" really was... well, crap.

Has anyone else here seen Dinner For Schmucks? If you haven't, don't!

If you ever get the chance to catch the original french 'Le Diner de Cons', it's a lot better.

Oh Americans. Stop changing things.

Only it DID completely miss the point of the source material...

The Office is actually one of the few American adoptions that I prefer over the original.

It's called tastes. It varies from person to person. I do love the U.K. version. But with barely more than a dozen episodes, I can't get into it. Plus, I started watching the US version long before the UK version. So that's where my preferences lie.

My 10...

1. Battlefield Earth.
2. Green Street.
3. The last Airbender.
4. Narnia Vol.1.
5. Short Bus.
6. August rush.
7. Meet the Spartans.
8. Snakes on a plane.

9.
10.

Will edit the rest when I get my next break in a few hours so bare with me.
(These movies are the main one which spring to mind when I think of total time wasters)

I see...

So, when in doubt, act straight away with little smart-ass remarks, just in case. That's how the internet works for you?

Smart ass remarks? You thought I was making smart ass remarks? Hmm... Interesting.

I see you have a pretty short temper. I'll just stop before you hurt yourself.

TB

A sarcasm detector. Yeah, that's a real useful invention.

Perhaps another good rule of forum etiquette is to try to take the high road, and not respond to remarks which may offend you. Just letting it go can help to keep the thread on topic...

I'm not the one getting offended, so don't worry about me. :)

But I have taken part in derailing the thread, so I'll get it back on topic.

As said earlier, Dinner for Schmucks is very high up on my list. Also, I'll add Redline, which seems to be on a lot of people's lists for worst movie. And Never Back Down, I tried watching it, and it's just terrible.

Oh, and Gamer. I freaking hated that movie. Terrible story, terrible acting, and I felt like it was mostly soft core porn with bits of Gerard Butler in between nude scenes.

I quite enjoyed Gamer. I think it was the concept that I liked although borrowed from other movies slightly, none of which I can think to name right now. The acting was pretty poor but I can't see where the soft-core porn element was in that movie. It had a few raunchy bits in it I'd say.
What made it fun for me was the Sci-fi/action genre it falls into which is my favourite type. I've even defended Episode 1 (Phantom Menace) because I love sci-fi so much! :scared:

Yeah, it had a very interesting premise, but it just about failed everywhere else, IMO. From what I remember, there was quite a bit of unnecessary nudity that had no relevance to the storyline. But I saw it in theaters and haven't seen it since. So my memory may be a bit skewed.

And the Phantom Menace was actually my favorite movie from when I was a kid.:P

And I'll add XXX and it's sequal. Two all brawn no brains movies.

OFF-TOPIC:
It's called tastes. It varies from person to person.
So, I gather you talk to everyone like they're 7 years old, and that this has zero smart-ass attitude...?
Ok, good luck with that.
Lesson learned on my end. 👍

Moving on...

ON-TOPIC:

1: Street Fighter
2: Coyote Ugly
3: Batman & Robin
4-10: Reserved for every "funny" movie based on existing movies, like "Scary Movie", "Meet the Spartans", etc, that they ever did and will be done.

So... you're not done? Seriously, dude. We've clearly had a misunderstanding on both ends. No need to get rude. Let's shake hands and move on.

God there is many people here I want to yell at. I see almost everyone here hates Fast And The Furious, yes it's unrealistic, but so what? It's the movie that made interested in cars.
I got some other examples too, cloverfield shouldn't be around here ever. And last, how can superbad be a bad movie? I understand if you're 80 and think it's bad for your grand childeren, but that's the only excuse I can accept.

I saw "Vampires Suck" a little while ago. It's supposed to be a satire of Twilight, and it is easily the absolute worst movie I've ever seen in my entire life.
