GTPub: Spec & Shuffle Racing!

Work permitting, I'm thinking of opening a room tonight entitled "GTPub Spec Rufs", featuring single make spec races in the 3400S and RGT probably on SH tires, and possibly some mixed racing in the BTR and Yellowbird, fixed to a common PP level of course, probably on SS tires. The RGT and 3400 S are brilliant in Spec form and the other two...well let's just say challenging...lol.

I'll post a room number when it's up later, probably between 7 and 8. I don't expect it'll be too popular so I'm going to limit it to 12 people to try and avoid lag issues.

EDIT: Went well enough last night. Never had more than 5 in a race, all regulars or "known entities". Carr, PaulMac, DSG and Torzilla showed up. Had a few tire kickers but none stayed to race. Will try this again soon.

EDIT: I've created two room and been booted as soon as the track loads. None of my friends show up, online or off, on the XMB or in GT5. Gonna restart and see if it fixes.

EDIT 2: seems to be fixed.

EDIT 3: Disco'd again. "An error has occurred with the lobby server." Is anyone else having problems? I'll try another one.

I had the room open for about 40 minutes, one guy popped in and then popped right back out, that was it. Has shuffle racing lost its appeal or something?

I did some shuffle in the past few days and it wasn't harder to find a decent room than before. I don't know what it is, perhaps people do look for 'clean' or 'pro' in the title.

Shuffle racing is a bit hit & miss, sometimes I've had a room open for an hour & no one comes in. I guess you were just unlucky.

My TV died on the 2nd of July, that's why I've not been racing for the last month. I've only got a 19" monitor to watch TV through my PS3 at the moment, can't race on it, it's way too small. I'm on ebay hunting for another one, I hope to be up & running again soon.

I never enter a Shuffle room unless it says something like that in the room desciption. 👍

I think that's just the way it goes sometimes, I was busy yesterday and couldn't make it. All Ive been doing with GT5 lately is shuffle races, and when Im looking for random online rooms I dont consider a room if it doesn't have the word clean in the title.
 
Probably so, but GTPub Spec & Shuffle already uses up the allotment of letters. Guess I'll have to change it to GTPub Clean MoFo's!! :sly:

I'll probably be on at some point. I'd just call it GTP clean shuff&spec. Should fit. Save the 'GTPub' title for the future.
 
I think I'm gonna slip it tonight, I'm down the road watching the Colts practice and bumped into some old co-workers. If anyone else wants to open a GTPub room feel free, I might join when I get home.
 
Ok, I'll go open one and see if there's any interest. If there isn't one I'll kill it in half an hour or so. Will post #s shortly.

Did anyone show up last night? That was the first time I've been to Colts Camp in years, it was neat to watch. I'm moving into a new house next month that is less than a 10 minute walk from where they practice so I'll probably be going to a lot next year.

Have the itch to run a few laps, 300 rooms open and only a handful under 500 PP and all on slicks. Going to open a small room for 450-500 on SH/SM for a while..

EDIT: I'm gone but the room is still going. Used Nurb to suck a few in...then switched to regular circuits. Eventually the room filled up. Some good racing too, only had to boot 2 guys all night. Thanks for coming out Sag!

Hey guys. Sorry I've been a bit AWOL, my lease is up at the end of this month and I've been looking for a house to rent. I found a place and over the last week or so have been finalizing the details, nice little 2 bedroom place (the wheel will finally have its own room!) in a nice neighborhood and with a great back yard. I'm all set to move at the end of this month so I might be scarce over the next couple weeks as I start to pack and clean. I should be around for a bit this evening if anyone feels like racing. 👍

Good luck although moving is never fun, especially in August. That's one way to find out how many friends you really have, ask them to help you move!!...:sly: I'm off to Calgary for nearly two weeks for some well deserved vacation time so no, I'm not available:drool:. Good luck with the move:tup:👍
 
Actually it's been unseasonably cool here the last couple weeks, feels like autumn. The high for today is only 77F. Hopefully that trend extends to the final week of August. But, it's a short move (about 2 miles) so I'm hiring some movers to most of the heavy lifting, so my friendships should remain intact. :sly:
