Had some lag at the start of the race, Moleman car was flying all over the place. But times weren't affected. We could try 14 drivers, that could avoid the lag that has always been present since day one. Lag, frame rate drop but NO BUG :).

I say we try 14 drivers. Typing from college computer... got class in 5 mins :D

Yeah, for sure. We should definitely keep it how it's always been at 14 drivers max, this helps with network performance and especially with FPS drops at the start of the race.

And I mentioned to Litchi that we should definitely be safe this week and have the race in an open lobby, but just make sure all qualifying is done in the WSGTC lounges this week as well since people have already qualified.

There is a slight difference in grip levels & tire heat rate between lounges and lobbies so for the sake of consistency and fairness, WSGTC should continue to qualify in lounges. Any time taken in a lobby should be DQ'ed.

If lounges continue to be a problem like today, then I suggested that WSGTC continues to keep the official lounges for practice and qualifying and only race in open lobbies in the future for convenience.

👍 x1000! I allways hated lounges for big races (12+) anyway as they never seem up to the job... The lobby was perfect on my end never seen any lag on my end now that was a pleasant surprise :D. As for what your saying OK8 your car never lagged at all on my screen I seen you start to spin tried ducking to the inside and unfortunatly wasnt able to avoid you, giving me full engine damage :(. Overall a good test though :).

In my opinion it's got to be all or nothing with the private lounge,
This week we should keep the first race as mixed class with 6 from each class, then a same class gt300 and a same class gt500.
These should be in the private lounges as planned. Then make a decision on the future races and qualifying.

Well lounges are great for practice and qualifying because every one knows where they are.

Races are easier to get into and seem better performance-wise in lobbies. So I don't think a compromise is hard at all to make. And neither is raising the limit from 12 to 14.

What do you mean by "this week should we should keep a mixed class then a same class"?

I also put up the idea that after this week's PAL race, you should ask all participants that can say to jump into the PAL-1 lounge to see if it isn't the same as today's problems with the lounges.

Yeah that lounge was being a **** :yuck:. Then everything went off without a hitch in the lobby :D.

Also most of the time I practice in my lounge reguardless if we are racing in a lounge or in a public lobby as its private and I can do what I want, when I want ;).

Lounges are fixed host, if you get a bad one at the top of the room, then you have a fixed host room with a bad host.
Doc told me this the other day, and I remember now that it is clicked when you set up the lounges, and it shows. If we're to use the lounges, we need to make sure hosts are at the top of the room.
If anyone enters before them, all they need to do is jump out and back in quick. 👍

Well, if it's that simple then no problem. So are we going lounge for sure or did you want to test this on raceday?

I can't remember who was hosting when we tried entering the lounge and it was kicking people out constantly, think it might've been Litchi.

That's up to people, I really don't care much either way.
Lounge is easier, but I have found lobbies work better for everyone as a whole, so I'm all for it, just annoying the randoms are.

Hmm, well, can't just say you don't care either way. Decision needs to be made in good time for the sake of every one knowing what to expect.

So should we keep the easy plan of keeping all qualifying in lounges leading up to the races then starting the race in a lobby then have everyone jump into a lounge to make sure the problem we had today was compliant with the host?

I don't like doing all that before races, it really screws them up, I believe.

I just think the general consensus has been problems with the private lounges, and I've seen it myself.
I'm perfectly fine with testing it again, keeping fixed host in mind, but for now, we should take the sure thing with small negatives, rather then taking the risk with large negatives.

I became the host at one point in the lounge.
Normally, me being host doesn't give any problems but this evening people couldn't join either.

We have points for 16 places, but if we only can race with 12, I say div 1 should be the top 6 qualifyers from gt500 and gt300, then the remainder go into same class. 12 gt500's and 12 gt300's fighting for the remaining 10 spots with points.

That's exactly the problem I've seen with lounges, is that they're harder to get into for some people.
Other then that, they're the same with a good host, at least for me.

We should be running 14 in a public lobby for this week. Just because we know it works.
Even if we're 75% sure the lounge will work, that's not enough IMO.

That's actually a really excellent compromise in my opinion twisted. That should definitely work.

But I also agree with CSL here:

So what do you have to say about points structure Dom?

And about lounges, yeah still feeling iffy about and what Speedy says backs up the claim against lounges at the moment. But, as cicua said in the thread, it could've just been a bad day for lounges or bad simply because so many people were trying to pack into it at once.

Right.
As long as we're not doing test races and jumping rooms, etc right at race time, eventually starting half an hour late for a a couple DC's and a bad start later it's just all going to hell.
People get their nerves up testing internet, especially if it's not going as planned. Tense people don't start races well at all.

I do CSL ;), I just back the hell off the first few laps . Then as I gain confedance and have someone infront im catching then I race :D.

I don't mind where we race. I must admit its nice to not have randoms popping in though.
In our room we identified who had the best connection, set them to the top spot in the room and it seemed fine.

This, a quadrillion times this. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Definitely the suggested course of action and why I'm urging the change.

Have 16 drivers?

Weird thing indeed.

Urgh, so much to read, damn you guys. So we are qualifying in the longues but we are moving the races to public? To be honest, I had no problems whatsoever last week on the race and it was in the longue. I guess today we just had bad luck, or the longues can't handle 16 players. That could be the only explanation. The host issue cant be as we changed host and people still had trouble joining.

I vote for Q and practice on longues and races at 14 players. Whether races are held on public or longue, that is the question that remains. Some more testing? :D I don't wanna start having different grip levels, and stuff like that. :ouch:

Qualifying absolutely has to stay in the lounges for this week.
I see no reason to move qualifying at all in the future.

There is no reason to move qualifying out of lounges. As long as every one qualifies under the same conditions it's fine.

What we like about the lounges is that every one always knows where they're at and thus finding people becomes much easier.

No reason to sacrifice that.

I know Q should stay on longue. Im asking about races. Are they staying on longue or being moved to public? And how many drivers in a race? 14? 16?

This week:
Qualifying must be done in lounges.
The races, however, will be done in lobbies.

14 will be the max. number of drivers per race.

It is just 1! test. It doesn't entirely confirm the bug is gone or not. There are more tests needed. Not from us, but other people.

It should've popped up for sure with 16 people. I think we're good to go.

I'm going to be testing all of the races I'm in this weekend myself, I'm sure others will as well. After that we'll know for sure. But it's looking great so far. It's ok, be psyched!
