GTRA | RSeat WSGTC S3 | Preseason Round 5 | Spa-Francorchamps

I hope I can do some practice tonight at around 7 pm US EST for a Qualifying run tonight or tomorrow night if that would be OK with the Stewards. :)

Why not get some GT300 practice.

We had a great race at Indy. It would be great to race again
Honestly, there's a few races I don't look forward to in GT300, and they're high-speed tracks.

Can any stewards be there tonight at 7?
About an hour I will, others already are, but apparently not sticking to the PAL-1 room as previously mentioned. :indiff:

If a steward can come and watch. Thanks.

You are a steward Hamilton 👍

Another one of my recommendations.

Guess my memory was off... ^^;;;; The 596 should be the time of record.

hey guys network is down for me here in californa want to get in qualifying run in hope some1 can work somthing out for me thanks

Terrible run for me tonight. :banghead:

Also, apparently we need a reminder, that there is absolutely no typing while someone is qualifying.

Hopefully it can be left at that, and won't need further attention.

This will be my first ever race in a mixed class and driving a GT300. Couple of questions.

Starting procedure.
If I understand it correctly, the GT300 will first to one lap and then stop behind the GT500 who will still be waiting. When the GT300 has stopped behind the GT500, the GT500 will start the procession lap (or whatever its called).

How close behind the GT500 should the GT300 be during the procession lap. When the lap is being completed and green flagged, how far behind the GT500 should the GT300 be?

Are there some guidelines when it comes to GT500 overtaking GT300. Example. If a GT500 is closing up on a GT300 on a straight but is not making the pass before a corner, is the GT300 supposed to lift off and let the GT500 by. I guess its all about judgement. Lets say that when being at the breaking point for the corner, the GT500 is still one car length behind the GT300. Is it OK for the GT300 to go through the corner in the lead or should he lift off on the the straight before the corner.

When being passed on a straight. Should the GT300 keep its normal racing line or should he go to the side

Nice job Force

@ Plc glad you were able to get it in!

Thanks everyone.

Qualify should now be closed. Good luck racing!

Once GT300 have completed first formation they continue to roll past GT500 pack who will be waiting on start straight and begin second formation lap. GT500 then begin to roll around 45 secs behind GT300.

Regarding passing, in general GT300's should hold their line with the 500's responsibility being to work their way around them in a safe manner (as in real life endurance multi class racing) even if it means following them through a few corners. GT300's do not have to jump out of the way although if it's convenient they may 'allow' them to pass.

It's not looking good for staging mixed tonight anyhow with the turn out :-/

D1 Pal looks good :D. Also NTSC filled nicely thats 6/5 if ive counted right but I feel sorry for the 1 PAL Gt500 and 3 Gt300s in D2 :(.

We still expect 12+ for each class for the 1st race or else! ;)

Yeah, and the amount of time ahead the GT300s are depends on the length of the race, or track.

Also, anything you'd need to know about multi-class racing ettiquite is addressed in this great video done for iRacing mixed class racing and applies naturally to WSGTC:

Most new GT300 drivers (I know you're sort of new to the class but you're more that a seasoned driver) make the mistake of trying to immediately jump out of the way of approaching GT500s. This is wrong, it makes the 500s have to guess where you're going. If you simply stick to a predictable race line then it's much easier for the 500 driver to judge his passing.

Litchi
What can we do for oalithgow, jashugan01, GTP_twist and toyotsupra?
They are only 4 in PAL 2...

I mentioned in a pm the other day that I'd like to see a rule that states unless there are at least 5 of each class racing in the d2 room then a scheduled mixed class race will not go ahead as mixed class and revert to same class.

Twisted backed it but I did not hear anything from Dom or yourself

With that in mind today's races would fall into that category and switch to same class, pending a late rush of requests to go on waiting list
