GTRA | RSeat WSGTC S3 | Round 8 | Daytona Road | Rolex GT

Just back from work :(

Hope I can jump in GT500 room and make the race from the back of the grid...

This is really bad timing Litchi, and Apollo only set the room to 9 drivers, so we're full..

You're very lucky, we had a vote and have decided to make a new room, but this will seem unfair to those who got turned away in past rounds for not being on the waiting list despite turning up on time..

Probably the most enjoyable race of the season for me - had good battles throughout the race, had a great one with OK8 & Litchi for 2/3/4 position, with ARTA locking out the podium. Happy considering it's the first time I've run an NSX at 1180kg. Another couple of massive, lock stop saves like in qualifying too... all in all, pretty happy with the outcome

First of all: SORRY for the hosting! I forgot to set the race finish timer. I believe 4 cars got cut by the 30s limit, and really, you have any right to blame and kid me in public for that. And not at least remind me next time I host a race. Sorry.

Secondly, it was really tough to be host, all the checks went smooth, but race start was really messy with the lag hellboy had. I was so close to exclude him, but I took a chance on behalf of everyone because it is not very nice to exclude anyone. But it caused a lot of delay, and it could have gone very wrong. I would really prefer if this kind of stuff does not happen at all.

Third, the race was great for me, of course, since I won it, but boy it was close! In first stint Josh and GV27 got ahead by some seconds, then GV had trouble in the bus stop and fell back to me. Josh built a 6 second gap that GV and I could not close. So I decided the only way to win would be extremely early pitting. Lap 14 it was, so I had to do 18 laps on RM's!

Last week I learned in a very hard way how it feels to drive a too long stint, but there was nothing else I could do.

Josh and GV finally pitted on lap 19. I had started wondering if they were going for 0 stops .

I had a 11-12 seconds lead when they got out. And from that point it was only a question if they could cooperate on catching me, or if they would slow each other down.

For a couple of laps my lead was stable around 11 secs, then it started dropping by a few tenths per lap. Then more. Then even more... On lap 31 I had them in my mirrors, and pushed ahead to get the last bit of life out of the tyres.

Josh caught a bit of my draft on the final sector, with GV close. I recalled vividly how GV27, in another series recently, snatched my podium spot exactly by drafting me on that very last sector of last lap. But not this time! It got scary close to a photo finish, and I think Josh would have got me before turn 1. But by then, the race was over :D

And by GV's provisional calculations the championship is looking closer than ever!

Congrats ByGGy for fastest lap!

And thanks all for the racing! :)

I wasn't ByGGy, but Jash, with hellboy a close 2nd fastest lap!! Which means you also get 1pt less than we thought, Simon, since yours is the 3rd fastest lap, not 2nd. Still, championship is close, close, close!!

If my calculations are not wrong, which they should not be (at least not by a wide margin), it should look like this on the top:

GV27-: 166pts (70kg ballast)
GTP_Cicua: 164pts (100kg ballast)
johnkiller2: 159pts (50kg ballast)
GTP_Josh-F: 159pts (70kg ballast)
C-Falcon89: 147pts (20kg ballast)

First of all sorry for the lag in training I had not but when you start the race it is that it appears it does not last long but it's annoying I am consciens.
my connection is on Gran turismo limit limit .. 2 mega powa.! I think this is the loading time of onset of stroke who did this because after I did my race and no more lag if I should return to Monaco in the back of the grid for avoiding the accident I'll do it again no problem I started last I finished 4th not bad ^ ^
Thank you for your patience Cicua
I know see a car fly Gt5 it's weird xD
Has probably next week: D

Hey guys. I won't be able to qualify. Can you add me to the reserves? Thanks. 👍

Horrible race for me.
Only 20min of practice before the start.
I was doin 1'52"5-1'53"0 so it didn't look so bad.
But my braking marks was a bit hazardous, especially at the bus stop.

Obviously I missed it on the first lap with the extra speed and the fact that the 3 cars in front where battling at the corner entry didn't help. It annihilated 3-4 cars, mine included. I apologize, especially to Paginas who left the race at this point.

I did a few more laps, in order to fail the bus stop again and again..and decided to stop the car before something worse happened. Next time I won't bother showing without practice. :banghead:

Twisted or someone, can you swap me and TRAJIKONE around on the quali sheets please. Ty.

I added and fixed it. Not sure who put it on there monstar but its cool now.

I know plc will q tonight, probably Tom as well.

And Tom the issue with the time is not knowing the time, its weather or not the guys in DST (observing day light savings) are going to start late 1 hour like last week. Using GMT as the base time. Or will DST guys start on time and have the other guys start 1 hour early till they observe DST. Then all will be normal.

I should be on soon.

Event Time Announcer takes all the DST changes into account, including when actual time changes take effect. If one timezome changes and another does not at the time you select, it keeps everyone in perfect sync.

I understand that the dilemma is whether or not to use Zulu time as the governing time in order to accommodate those who would then have to race at an inconvenient time.

I propose that since there are other situations which have defaulted to enforcing strict guidelines (recent qualifying debates), then strict adherence to the rules which have already been laid out concerning the official race schedule also be adhered to.

Hence, I would suggest since there is a standard on GMT(UTC) being the governing clock, everyone should then assume that the race will run as scheduled using Zulu as the master clock.

Thus, http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedtime.html?msg=WSGTC-NTSC-Round8&iso=2012-03-25T02:30:00 being the officially asigned time in the OP for this series should be what everyone should have set their expectations for when signing up for the series. (I know I did).

And I'm MDT, so I am just as affected by this extra hour as anyone else...

Hey, just my 2 Canadian cents, eh?

PS> Yes, I will q during the last hour of Deadline if a steward is available... 23:00PDT = MajikTom Quali Time

Thanks!

Had some absolutely brilliant races against Litchi and Widow. First during the first couple laps I was 'on-the-outside-looking-in' when Widow and Litchi had a three way battle with someone ahead of me and I wanted to join it so badly. After a couple laps I managed to pass the pack and then was immediately under a lot of pressure from Litchi. We had a clean dice, really close and hard but no incidents and then Litchi made a small mistake which immediately released Widow on my ass.

We had a brilliant low grip battle of wills when both our tyres were starting to go, Widow pitted after some very flamboyant drifting but I stayed out for one more lap (don't know if it was smart, not at all sure about my tyre strategy so I just decided to push it as far as I could every stint) and after pitting took mediums and pressed the button that says Jenson on it. For the whole medium stint I was driving so smooth I don't think I've ever driven like that, I didn't countersteer once during the whole stint though with the NSX I countersteer in almost every corner normally. Managed to get to 2nd place during this stint and ran the mediums to the ground.

Third stint was when it really started to happen. Litchi overtook me during the pit and for the first lap I was completely concentrated on contemplating how the hell did Litchi manage such a brilliant drive coming up from last place and now overtaking me on strategy for 2nd, but I didn't have a long time to think when suddenly out of nowhere Widow was in my mirrors. Only 4-5 laps to go and a podium at stake, no-one was giving the other any slack, Widow was on mediums and I was on hards so both were racing as hard as we could. We went side by side into every corner including the bus stop and the battle was absolutely fierce. What really mixed everything up was the fact that we were catching Litchi, and the very last lap saw so many position changes I can't even describe it properly. It all came down to the bus stop, Widow was the first to go through it, I came second and pushed it too far to the outside, almost lost it, held it, hit Litchi when coming off the grass sideways and thought I lost all hope of a podium finish. Luckily the rest of the lap after that is 'NSX-zone' so I thoroughly floored the pedal and managed to take third from Litchi by the lenght of the bumper. My hands were shaking for a long time after the finish.

Naturally I apologise for the damage caused Litchi but there wasn't much I could do. A brilliant race throughout. :)

DC'd: Apollo (lap 25)

It was really an awesome race. Great battle with the Arta Team. I had no idea of my pit strategy at the start. At lap 10, i see that i can do the race with only one Pit stop (RH and RH, no meds). This is what i do, I pit at lap 16. But i did a mistake in the Bus Stop (lap 11 or 12 i think), cost me 10 secs. Certainly cost me the 2nd place cause i finish 4th, just behind the Arta's...

I was thinking of doing the same thing when I made it to lap 15 on RH. But I thought I couldn't risk not using RM so I had to make it a two stopper.
