The leaderboards have been pulled down for the time being. People have been asking to switch after seeing they are low on the boards. Switching is not allowed.

You play with a pad? I always thought you had a steering wheel :)

I haven't had much practice - my personal bests hang around high 2:07's

Man I gotta do this eventually lol. Lazy

Still pretty disappointing with the turn-out so far (around 10% of the total sign-ups). I think we need a re-think next time we do qualifiers.

I disagree actually.
While turn-up for qualifying is currently scarce, that tells me all those people not qualifying certainly wouldn't have stuck around for more then a race or two, seems to be a very common trend.

If nothing else, it will show us who's actually going to put some effort into racing, rather then sign up, race once and disappear.

So if we're left with only 50 drivers, we'll have 50 committed drivers and work from there, nothing lost but appearance of a big field.

Better get this done tomorrow.

Haven't done nearly enough practicing but not hugely fussed over car choice anyway tbh so top few spots aren't much of a big deal really.

Also sigh, I am probably going to be slow. I use Chase Cam (yes really, I prefer the vision around the car especially for pack racing) and that has been absolutely murdered with the update today, can't do a lap without feeling sick, it's horrible. Been using the bonnet/hood view in another series today but I haven't ever used an inside or on-car view in GT so it's a bit abnormal and taking some getting used to.

/racing driver excuses :sly:

Hey CSL, are you going to be on in about 6-7 hours from now? I'd like to do my quali.
Very bizy at work this week so hopefully I don't get stuck here for to much OT.

Still pretty disappointing with the turn-out so far (around 10% of the total sign-ups). I think we need a re-think next time we do qualifiers.

A few shots:

1) The confusion over the qualifier (change of tracks) may have deterred some. I understand why it was done, but there is no way to do such a thing without looking a bit disorganized. A few guys lost their qual times, but many others probably lost some practise time and had some anger and doubt over that, and just following the developments in the threads was quite time consuming.

The outcome may well be a bunch of people who are indeed committed. But I guess a handful may have been lost anyway.

2) Keep the qualifier times secret, like now. WRS does it, and it works well. Nobody gets shocked beforehand, only afterwards :) - but then they have already invested some time, and are more likely to give it a try anyway, and maybe find out there is fun stuff to stay for, even if wins are out of sight.

* This is from someone who is still practising...

Probably. Almost certainly 6 hours I will, just post up when you're back and I'll answer if I'm still up. 👍

Good points, a bit ironic that we down scaled the qualifier to make it easier and people disappeared though.
Mostly I think it's just removed all the people that wouldn't stick around anyway. Keep the times secret for now, let people do their bit, and at least I personally have stopped worrying who will or won't show up.
I'm honestly flat out tired of worrying about keeping people around, if they want to they will, if not, then they'll miss out. Come season time we'll have enough drivers to have at the very least 2 rooms of great racing. That's all we need, the option for more is there if they choose to accept.

I would like to qualify for this this series but am confused on how or what to do next i have signed up i think but am not sure so can i get some clarification on if I am singed up and where I need to be and at what time and in what car.

Only 6 people submitted times before the change (scaling down) of the qualifier to one track.

It was not as drastic as it seems. I think one mistake that i've found is having the Leaderboards public from the start - reason was to make it fair for everyone since the Stewards have access to the completed times at all times.

The leaderboards may have scared some competitors away (and is the main reason why people keep wanting to switch to different class/conference). Still, i think we have a pretty good number here. If the preseason is any indication, we'll have healthy 12-14 car grids every week from each class/conferences. We currently have about 60 of the max 120 driver pool. I expect about 10-20 more drivers to submit when the deadline arrives.

Are the qualifying leaderboards up yet?

No, and they won't be.

To many people playing the waiting game, and to many people wanting to change divisions, etc, because of how their times looked.
I know you already ran, so this doesn't apply directly to you, but -

You pick the time slot that fits you best, you pick the car type you prefer, then you run the qualifier as best you can. The results will take care of themselves and you'll be able to see them when they matter.
