Suzuka race uneventful... got this one instead. :)
Why the 🤬 is Spongebob Squarepants on your car?!?!?

Looking at last season, GT500 pole was:
1:21.181, done by tony1311
Had a 20 lap practice and bested at 22.6, hoping to cut half a second, 21.1? Not for me.

Yep, I think so.. ;)

The schedule is in the OP as well. 👍

Looking at last season, GT500 pole was:
1:21.181, done by tony1311

GT300 pole was done by GTP_Senninha and was:
1:26.082

A 1:21 is insane, and I doubt we'll see a time like that this season. The only one who can beat it at the moment is Remy_K i guess.. But it's not going to be easy..

GT300 pole, I don't know.. But since it was almost .5 faster than mole, and it was also done in the same car as mole drove (RE Amemiya RX7), it have to be concidered a really fast lap as well.. And also hard to beat.

I do think that the grids quali times will improve in general in both classes, and it will bevery interesting to see if any of the poles from last season can be beaten..
I personally suck at Seca, and with 100 kg of ballast I've already pretty much ruled out my self.
I hold NEPALII, Wardez or Paginas as favourites. Part because their choice of car is good for this track, part because they do not carry too much ballast, and I rule out the NSX here. Otherwise, Joker, red and Cfal would be strong challangers.. But I might be wrong.. It's just that the lack of long straights will defenetly be tough for the tailhappy NSX. The tarmac it self is also very slippery, and the level of grip here os much less compared to other tracks.

In GT300's, I do not hink that Aderrrm will win. His car is too heavy for that.. moles as well (since he did not complete at least 75% of the last race, he can not remove any ballast despite his DC).
So how about our new french guy perhaps? Or Hurtus? I think he's full of revenge since last race, and he also got a light car for this one..

Thank you for mentioning me on the favorites list. That makes me feel good. :) However, Im not planning to race this Friday, as I dislike Laguna a lot. Only a very competitive car, with very little work done, will persuade me to race as Im not willing to spend much time during the week working on the car, but like you said the Lexus is a very competitive car on low speed circuits like Laguna or Monaco so that could motivate me. I will see how things turn out. 👍

It would be a smart decition to race at Laguna.. The Lexus, CASTROL Supra and NISMO Z are great here. The tourqe will help a lot out of the slow corners and in the up hill sections..
I think that Seca and Monaco are the best tracks for the Z and the Lexus.. But the Z is a bit more allround.. So Lexus defenetly are big favourites here.

And since you signed up late in the season, you've already "used" your droppable rounds.. With that in mind, it would be wise to race this week to try and climb in the overall table a bit.. 👍

Will be interesting to see the NSXs here.. I think this is not a track for them because of the lack of long enough straights where the NSX is VERY strong.. Peraps the wide powercurv can hekp a bit though.

Hope to see you at Seca this week. 👍

Hope we can look at changing this rule for next season - not sure it's fair to pick up zero points and also still maintain the ballast, especially when you compete in the race. With dropped rounds, that means I have to 'drop' my Disconnect scores, and then struggle to pick up valid points with a ton of ballast on board.

Really think even if you don't show for a race, your ballast should be removed. After all, by not showing, you've just forfeited one of your drop scores and penalised yourself. Eg. As it is, i've tried to compete in rounds but still have the same 90kg I had at round 3. Yet, I have 4 zero point scores, meaning I have to include some of those in my score total (my fault/psn's fault/net's fault obviously), but it makes it very tough to pick up good points in the remaining rounds.

Atm almost everyone in gt300 has ballast, and i'm not sure it should be that way. A newcomer to the series could join and have a huge advantage over the lot of us by default.

Think we either need to look at the way ballast is dropped, or reduce the amount of ballast gained. Too many cars have been too heavy for too long, it's only meant to be a short penalty, not season long. Hopefully we can discuss for S3 👍

Any tips for saving rear GTR tires?

Your right foot. :D

And what Mole said. Maybe remove 20kg ballast if you complete 75% race distance and don't finish on the podium, and remove 10kg if you complete less than 75% (includes not turning up altogether).

Hi all!

I don't post much on the forum, I'm sorry. But I have a lot of work on GTPlay as community leader and competitions so ...

Don't worry, I read all your posts and I stay informed of what's happening here.

Yes, I agree. We are avare of the problem and aim to change some rules regarding the ballast system.

Yep, we will defenetly look in to different solutions for the ballast removal. And also in to other details regarding the ballast system.

Man, hoping to get back into the swing of things here at Laguna. After missing out on Indy and completely letting Suzuka slip my mind I need to kick on the afterburners and try to save my season.

I'm a little giddy, Laguna Seca was my first race in the WSGTC, I'm wondering how much I've changed since then, suppose we'll find out come Friday.

Got a practice room up (or Qualifying room if you feel braver than Leonidas in 300 :scared: ), may be away though as I'm a bit giddy now and need to watch a serious film so I can calm down lol.

Number: 1472-6118-3701-4256-6814

EDIT: New room, last one failed :(
Number: 1472-4711-0081-4392-9834

EDIT 2: Nevermind, internet is dodgy and I'm too tired for racing, gonna call it a day.

I'm going to have to give this one a miss. Sorry guys. I'm going scuba diving on the 17th and need some rest before hand. See you for the next race!

I am not sure if I will be able to make this week's race, as I will be sending my G27 back to Logitech for replacement(centering issues). I do have a DFGT as well, but I remember that having issues as well. Also, missed out on the Corvette for the day with the power issues intervening.. Might get a redo for this, but it will most likely be during our normal race time.

I cant get my tiers worm ?
Is this a nownd problem at seca ?

I remember running some laps a while back at this course with Wardez and Brosifduder.. Honestly can't remember if we were running the miatas, integras, or Lotus.. but Brosif and I were having this same thing occur. Both of us seemed to have a hard time warming our tires...

I think Wardez said he didn't seem to have as much of a problem with this.. Not sure if it is a random thing, or driving style, or what... but you are not alone in seeing this Phantom.

Have fun UAE! I haven't gone in a while, due to ear issues... but I see my equipment staring at me everytime I go into our extra room. You sound like you are having a rough go of it, with parkour, simulated free-falls, and diving. Have fun mate.

Anyone interested in a tuning session?

I gotta fold some laundry and start a load. Then I be free for the night. Well until I gotta shuffle laundry again.

Hopefully we can get a decent group and do some tire wear testing as well.

btw, Nepalii and I got into the 21s! Nep nabbed a 21.4xx and I just started creeping into the high 21s. It's on like Donkey Kong! smoking a bong with a guy named Don while listening to the Redemption Song and a VHS tape in the VCR named Tron and I'll beat your highest damn score at Pong!

That's really good reaching the 21's.. It looks like D2 for me this week. I can't for my life stay concistant at Seca..

Need to get some practice in..

This. I would greatly appreciate if you put one. 👍 Every time Im done with a race I get sore arms/legs, sweats(sometimes even cold sweats, dont know if Im sick or not), hunger(dont ask why, i have no idea) and dizzyness. I think thats how you spell it. You guys should have seen me after I did the Le Mans Lotus 111rRM race(2hr.30min.). :scared:

I can try to help you with the food if you like. I have no clue about the english terms for some things regarding the intake of food.. But I'll give it a try.

You should ofc not eat anything with fast energy. Things like chokladbars, coca cola, candy in general is something that will give you a boost of energy, but after that boost (It lasts about 30 minutes) your bloodsuger will drop dramatically, and you start to feel dissy, tired and exhausted.

Try instead to eat real food abot an hour before the race. Like potatoes or pasta with long kooking time. Eat some sallad ofc, and chicken, fish or turky. It's the meat with less fat. Beef and pork is not good meat, cause it contain a lot of fat.
The fast pasta, that you boil for 3 minutes is to fast. Make sure it's one you have to boil for at least 10 minutes. Same goes with rise.
And drink a lot of water.
It will help your level of water inside your body stay at a decent level thru the race. Lack of water can make you feel dissy and without any power in your body.

If you want to eat choklad or candy during the race (after all, it's weekend, right? ;) ) , soggest that you wait in till the half way mark of the race, and just eat a small piece. And keep on like that every 10th minute or so. It will help your brain to stay alert thru the later part of the races.

Well, hope this helped a bit. If you got any questions, just ask. 👍

Dude, that would be sick if Apollo came back. He was a really great driver. It would a fitting return to Laguna since he won it. And if you can believe this: he did it with a one-stop and we STILL don't know how

I just took the liberty of updating the main part of the OP splash page to give Masi a headstart 👍
