@Chorda: No chance, haha. I've taken it at 60mph on road tyres with my foot flat to the floor irl. On slick tyres it ought to be much faster as there's so much more grip available. On GT5 I struggle to get through without spinning at 50mph, and that's 'rolling' (no throttle) round the corner. Agree with how Red finds it tbh, every car seems to struggle through there. You would be very surprised how much grip is there irl, it's probably the easiest corner on the circuit despite its fame.

I can make it through if I'm gentle, but after a lap or two the tires won't have it anymore, I'll be running the outside as well.
Even the second one can be iffy if you're aggressive, but it doesn't happen offline.

Both can be taken very fast offline, in the wrs week at the Nurb, I crashed there once, and it was swinging wide on exit.
It's one of what I call, "special online corners", as it seems to have a strong connection to the different physics online. There's usually 1/2 per track where the back end of any car just jumps for no apparent reason.

Stoked to quali second, but as Red said, Nepalli's time is fantastic. If I pushed really hard, as in 50/50 to make it around without crashing, I could see 48-49, but on a one chance only quali lap that time's just bonkers.

Ah, the online part. I don't think I have run this track many times online. Maybe that is why I have never had issues with the Karoussell. Agree, the second turn with the banked cement can be quite exciting as well.

By the way, I didn't mention it before, but if I hadn't seen Nepalii's time I would have thought your qualification was crazy fast. Regardless, from where I am looking, fantastic time.👍 My lap had no major mistakes, and I am over 6 seconds behind you. That is a LOT of time.

Edit-
CSL or Nepalii - if you are ever willing to show me around the track at 70%, I would love to follow. Before the race, after the race, some other time, I would be very grateful. I have a lot to learn here, and obviously you guys have a good feel for the track.

Red - in the wild chance you can get on now I'm free for another hour or so before bed, I don't know how much I can help, but I can try. 👍

Im sure my maths was right with Neps time....

Ive saved replay BUT i dont think i will have enough time to watch it as im going to work in a few hours and got other stuff to sort out.

Not sure who was in room aswell but if someone did save it could they please just double check Neps time. He was hanging it all out over the lap so was expecting to be SUPER FAST

I can agree to the part that the rear looses grip in strange situations sometimes in GT5.

But there's no way you can "floor it" thru there in a race car IRL.

right have another look at neps time unless my maths is very poor I think I got it right....

sector 1 = 30.105
sector 2 = 27.174
sector 3 = 27.756
sector 4 = 20.310
sector 5 = 42.148

which all adds up to a whopping 147.493 which is the same as 2:27.493

nep did a total time of 8:13.665

so 8:13.665 ~ 2:27.493 = 5:46.172

please correct me if I'm wrong because I want to know where I've gone wrong (if I have lol)

also chorda is right Chris who I race with in a different series races in the 4hr races there in a Porsche ft cup car not sure which 1 but it can't go full throttle around it and the cars are more like gt300 cars than gt500 so gt500 should struggle even more

Looks good to me based on those numbers 👍

I'll host the GT500 race to day, and Aderrrm will host the GT300 race.

GT300's start as usual at 20.00 PM (GMT), and Connetct Time is 30 minutes prior (19.30 PM GMT) start as usual.

GT500's start at 20.30 PM (GMT), and connect Time is 30 minutes prior (20.00 PM GMT).

Roomnumbers will be posted in this thread.

NOTE: GT500's start 30 minutes later because we'll wait for Paginas to get home.
I will open up the room 45-60 minutes prior green flag, and I will start the PP/Weight/bhp checks at 20.15 PM (GMT). So basically, we will all be on track when Paginas enter the room. Then he'll just jump in fast as lightning and I'll start the race.
Paginas knows what ballast he should race with, and I trust him, so no need to include him in the PP/weight/bhp-checks. I hope that's ok with everyone.
If not: Paginas are not allowed to enter his setup menu after the race, and will be asked to enter track when PP are set to his personal value.

Remember your starting grid position and also keep in mind that we are forming in a single file for this race. There's not room for dual files.

It's a long race, so please, use your brain in this one.

2nd NOTE: Lynchy098 is back from his suspention and will race again.
I certainly hope that our own Lewis Hamilton have learnt his lesson and will race much less agressive. 👍

Good luck tonight everyone!

It's probably a stupid question, but are we using weather like last season?

EDIT:

Room open -

I'm in for the race (if there's a place for me). I had a little free time to qualify me yesterday but there was no room open at this time. So, i'll start at the last position tonight ;)

Cheers

I'm sure Adam will blame his drinking habits :sly:

What drinking habits? he says with a hangover...

Im sure my maths was right with Neps time....

Yep it was. I checked Nep's lap yesterday too, as promised, and came to the same time. :)

I'll host the GT500 race to day, and Aderrrm will host the GT300 race.

I've only just been told about this, but I think I'm going to a family birthday meal tonight. Really gutted that I might be missing the race because even with Mole not racing, this race last season was so hard that it would be open for anyone in gt300 to take. I'm through to the finals anyway so good luck to everyone in this race. 👍

I guess the only question now is... if me and Mole don't race and Hortus doesn't pick enough points up to finish ahead of either of us, who gets 2nd position in the standings? :D

I'll let you know in a bit whether I can definitely race or not.

I think the reason why I got that much of a gap was because I risked more on that lap than most of you. I watched your lap and there were moments where, I assume, that you could have gone much faster but you didnt to be on the safe side. Also, I had a bit of luck on some turns, as I felt a sudden grip losss but was able to catch the car. Karusell was one example, halfway through it, I just get no FFB and the rear starts feeling light, I thought it was over but I let go off the throttle and caught the car back.

The race isnt gonna be easy at all, because I think Im at disadvantage when it ocmes to tire wear. Unless it rains, that would change everything :scared:

You will, on wins I think.

3rd place, not bad at all.

Nep's time is pretty damn good, but I feel I could of got close to his time if I had really pushed the car and not made any major mistakes. Considering my Qualifying record though, I did not want to take any risks at all (Went around the outside at Karoussel, was incredibly cautious), and lifted off the throttle in areas where I could floor it in practice. Proud of my lap tbh, it was consistent, which is a rarity for me nowadays, and I've come out in a very opportunistic position. I really fancy my chances here as well, most of the drivers around me have ballast including Nep with 80kg, and I love driving round this track. CSL in front of me is going to be a real challenge, and I'm really looking to the battle for 1st place.. Getting a win at one of the toughest circuits in the world and the last of the season would be brilliant ;)

Besides it isn't the battle for the championship that matters here.. it's the battle for 9th between me and Nep that really counts :sly:

Appreciate the 6 lapper last night CSL and Remy.

Learned a lot.

A: I am slow here.

B: how this weather will play out.

C: I have a love hate relationship with the Ring. She is my mistress. When she is being kind it feels so nice. However when she decides to nasty. It can be very heart breaking. :)

I'm sorry to say that I will miss this race.
Personal stuff came up just a few minutes ago and I can't do anything about it.
I will not monitor the thread any more to day, so won't be able to arrange a new host.

I'm sure you guys work it out. Remember that Paginas will arrive late to the room. And that the GT500 race is delayed because of that. (The GT300 race starts as usual at 20.00 PM (GMT)(

New GT500 CT: 20.00 PM (GMT)
New GT500 GF: 20.30 PM (GMT), or as soon as Paginas enter the room.

Good luck to all of you, and I pray I'll stay in top 4 after this round. After looking real quick in the table, I can see a small possibilty that C-Falcon89 and Redreevos pass me.. :scared:

@CSL - Thanks for the offer bud.. I didn't see your message until just now. Hopefully you will let me take you up on your offer another time.

@Nepalii - My lap probably appears cautious mostly because I am just slow. I am happy anytime I finish my lap here as well. There is never a rest at this track. Full adrenaline the whole time. I am thankful for the 24hr layout as the GP section gives me a chance to breath.

@Chorda - bummer you can't make it today. I am always happy anytime you are one the track. Always enjoy racing with you.

Lastly, I have made several trips to the vet's office the last couple of days. I am going in today about an hour and a half before race time. I am hoping to make it, but can't assure it. Hopefully you guys can save a spot for me. I will try and update from my phone if I can't make it.

for gt300 if we dont have aderrrm and mole who will host id nominate atlas

im in for sure though with aderrrm out i get a even better chance to get into top 4 if mole not here too then ive got every chance to win :D

just looked im 66 behind so unless i win and get fastest lap im going to be 5th :(

I can't make it tonight like I thought, so good luck all 👍

Paul - I am pretty certain Hortus' total is wrong, should be 320, someone should check it as its very important for the top 4 obviously. If thats the case, you "only" need 2nd place here I think.

Mole really? if so sweet i could be at the Finale :D

yeah i worked it out as 320 aswell so now im only 59 behind which is 2nd but what would happen on tied points..?

Can't make it. Good luck all. 👍 @ paul - it goes to most wins, most 2nd positions etc.

Btw you lot should switch to a mixed race with 1 lobby. With me, Mole, Chorda out Litchi in, that's 16 or 15 drivers depending on whether Reevos can make it.

Would make the race less lonesome, especially for the gt300s. Just a thought. :)

isnt it a bit small for Gt500s with Gt300s ie not much space to pass when going at 20mph faster reactions would be tested for sure and could spell trouble if someone misjudges a gap

It is difficult to overtake on the Norschleife but as long as the drivers being lapped are respectful and smart there shoudnt be any issues lapping them. Im fine with either mixed or same class as long as there are no issues. Oh will there be a formation lap?

To be honest, i wish my ban could have moved to this race. I don't want to ruin anyones race because of a inevitable mistake from me. But. i'll try my best :P

Is there any room open yet? If not then i'll make one... And i agree to make it a mixed class, so it'll be a full grid
