Maybe we should drop this track next season?
Or at least have weather off?

Weather doesn't bother me, nor the track.
(Though I prefer the original Nurb best)

I think it would be shameful to drop the whole track, but given the length and nature of the animal a lack of weather and night would probably make it better overall for everyone, imo. It seems a few aren't to familiar with it, I can't imagine running it at night in the rain not knowing it well, I was missing entire turns and I know every bump skip and hop on the track.

I would go for dropping this skinny, bumpy, looong track. It's a just not fun to wreck 13 miles from the pit.

Ok, i don't exactly know what happens now since i wasn't here when the schedule was brought up... so top 4 from both class compete for the championship shootout?

i won Gt300 with skanny only 2 secs away at the end.
It was a very high concentration race me and skanny both went of on the first lap but i recovered quicker and sloted into 2nd behind Mh4wheel, i had a go or 2, he eventualy went off the road allowing me past i thought i could break free so i pushed as hard as i could built up a 7-8 second lead and maintained it until i crashed twice on lap 3 about 4mins in so i struggled on and allowed mh4wheel past subsequently he spun about 30 seconds later leaving us with damaged cars running very close with mine having diagonal wheel damage (front right and left rear) so i was weaving all over the place so trying my best to keep out of his way not knowing how bad his car was so he past then he spun again and the rest of that lap was just us both desperatly trying to get into the pits so we both came out with wet tyres. Then lap 5 while in 2nd still i crashed again got it to the pits as did mh4wheel he must have gotten damage somewhere aswell as soon as i passed him for first he started to drop off then numerous lucky spins later without damage it was lap 10 and lynchy passing me for the overall lead he passed then a couple corners went off i caught up but was unwilling to pass he went off 3 times more before i decided i have to pass Skanny is gaining massively here so i passed him while he was scrabbling on the grass by this point skanny had made up 20seconds odd so i could see him lurking and once Lynchy spun infront of skanny he was relleased now about 10secs behind. i was on really old tyres 5laps old so i drove as hard as i could maintaining a 7sec gap onto the final lap and knew id really have to grit my teeth to keep my win several close call later i was 4 seconds infront onto the back straight and knew if i ust coasted the last section i was safe and so i did and i won by just over 2seconds :D:D

That was just miserable. Trying to race in pitch blackness with 100% water on the track.. Way beyond my abilities.

Long race.. Got hit 3 times in what felt like the same sector on lap 1.. Then I had my biggest crash of the race on the GP section when a steward typed FIN GAME!! I had no idea what that meant, and figured since a steward wrote it it must mean something. Too many things for my pee brain to compute apparently. Huge crash with damage to all 3 corners in a very simple section.

I wish I could say this race was forgettable, but I don't think I will be so lucky.

I can totally understand why so many people backed out of the race. If I didn't have a chance of finishing in the top 4 of the championship, I might have left too.

I think I need a lot more time on this track before I try a pitch dark night race here again. I am just glad that I didn't ruin anyone else's race.

Not sure what happened with the final timings either. I was on lap 11, but the end time looked strange.

With all that said...

Congrats to Paul M. and Lynchy. That is some amazing concentration to come out in first under the conditions. My hat is off to both of you.

And here is a beer for all that managed to stay to the end  Not sure if it was more dedication or stupidity on our parts. :)

I hope none of the admins take any of my comments the wrong way. This sounded cool to do the Nurb24hr with weather.. For some reason I didn't think about time change and darkness:dunce:

Here is another beer for all that are still here at the end of the season.

I greatly enjoyed myself here, and was quite impressed with the level of skill of the other drivers.

Thanks again competitors and Admins for the races. I know we had some ups and downs, but overall quite happy I joined here.

Not sure how the points ended up.. Maybe I will see you guys for round 12:sly:

thats who finished the race 👍

Congrats to all finishers especially Paul and Lynchy.👍

It was no longer FUN RACING for me... quit on lap 4. I opted for a better fun so I went out mountain biking (5:45am here) and came back to see only 6 drivers remaining, lol. I hope I'll get better next season-- No more NIGHT and CHANGE WEATHER at Nurburg please. :)

Thanks so much to Denilson, Masi (and Wardez) for making this season a success! 👍

We may get rid of nurburgring 24 hrs altogether in favor of proper gp tracks for closer racing. Possibly twice at Spa next season.

Wow what a race, loved every second of it, managed to run only 1.5 mins with damage out of 1 hour 55 :)

Started a bit shakily, took a trip to grass whilst leading into adenauer forst and dropped to 4th. Held a pretty constant gap to the leaders ( i think anyway as from the start my timings were screwed as it showed lynchy leading for the whole race, as a result i never had timings to paul which was very annoying as I never knew how I was doing for pace) for 2 laps before stopping for rain tyres. Track was about 28% wet at that point but the slicks had held up fine to that point, figured one one lap would be pushing it and besides the two ahead of me also pitted. Pitted again 2 laps later for rain tyres as I'd burnt the rears up a bit (looks like inters were maybe the way to go for those 2 laps) still running my own race around 30 secs back from the leaders from what I could gather from the odd glimpse of them on the map.

Ran my second set of wets for 4 laps comfortably and decided to make one last stop rather than try and run them for 7 laps. Lynchy passed me shortly after and disappeared pretty quickly then with a lap and a half to go I got a glimpse of 2 cars about 30 secs down the road which I guessed was lynchy and paul. Kept my head down and it soon became apparent that I was catching them both quite quickly. Got to lynchy just before the end of lap 10, he had quite heavy damage and was struggling. Sat behind him for a minute or so before he span and I got by, now I was around 10 secs behind Paul with just over a lap to go.

For the last lap I just concentrated on being clean as we entered our second darkness phase of the race! I didn't know if he had damage or had just spun a few times, didn't know when he had last pitted, did know that I was slowly and steadily catching him though. Had a bit of a wobble half way round which cost me a few seconds and when we hit dottinger hohe for the final time I knew the 4 sec gap would be too much too overcome unless Paul had a big off in the last few corners. As it was I finished 2.2 secs adrift but had a lot of fun :) congrats to Paul on a great race!

It appears that a number of guys had issues with the race tonight, I'll have my say on it tomorrow as now I'm off to bed :)

I was actually having quite a bit of fun until I had my crash. The two times I spun prior to lap 6 actually didn't give any damage. It was a big surprise for both. I pitted on lap 5 to switch from Intermediates to rain tires. And I was really hoping to keep up with Paul and maybe challenge him again. Alas, that went down the drain as those standard low-beams started making the road a little scary at 160+mph. Coming out of the 2k straight I was looking to close the gap when just before the breaking point I let my left side tires dip in the grass. The braking only caused me to slide and smack the wall for engine damage and the rest was history. I really wish I had made that turn, it could have been a much more interesting race. Still happy with 3rd in class. First podium ever, Sweet!

I just have three words: Crappiest race ever. Not the track or weather's fault. Its just that somehow the rain decided to make the car extra slippery today, and it was impossible to drive the car. Maybe it was GT5'
s physics flaw in there Oh and the race started on rain opposed to starting on dry. Mistake by the host. Just remove weather as it is nearly impossible t drive these cars on the rain. I was so looking forward for this race for nothing :ouch:

Now, now...Don't blame the host. That was my bad. It started dry but it was starting to rain before we even got out of the GP course. Then my watchful eye of the chat caused me to rear end Paul and we wasted more time to get a proper restart. One could argue there could have been another reset, but we were all in a hurry after that incident.

I think GT5 needs some fixing handling some cars in the rain, you have absolutely no grip. There were moments that I had finished exiting the corner, Im in 4th low RPM, then on straight as the RPM starts getting higher the car just snaps out of control!! Thats a WTF moment right there.

No reason to be upset guys, the terms of the race were equal for all of us.
I know we're not supposed to start in the rain officially, but it's also been my experience that restarting just because it's raining pretty much means we may as well use less bandwidth and take the track version without weather.

In any case congrats to Lynchy and paulmac for taking the wins in a brutal race.
I've no idea how you guys could see, I sure couldn't.

Just to throw it out there maybe not bother with weather at all next season? I know some people can enjoy it, as I do at times, but between bandwidth for some drivers, and it being bonkers hard to try "racing" with zero grip, it doesn't seem like most drivers end up enjoying it at all.

I don't know, I enjoy it from time to time. I suppose the fact that it was at the Ring was the case most people found it a displeasure. It's not exactly Indy so handling is prevalent over maximizing horsepower. There's also the fact that it's 15 miles long, not exactly the kind of length one would want to travel for repairs. Add in rain as a hindrance and it's a whole step above quite a few drivers' expectations. The track surely favored the 300s with their lower power levels so we easily didn't have to worry about losing control as much since we were able to back down into the safe area over a shorter length of track.

I just want as fast as i could :) The car was very slippery and as Paul and Scanny saw on lap 10 it was just too much.. I actually liked the race and i hope it says on the calendar next season 👍

As for Spa.. It would probably come down to who has the DLC or not :)

Its been confirmed - if the host has the track, everyone else in the room can race in it.

NEPALII

Was this on wet tyres? Only ever seen that happen when on slicks (or inters if the rain is really bad) pre-2.0 :embarrassed:

think it was the turbo kicking in nep, it kept doin the same to me normally round fast corners which SUCKED ARSE! lol i got soo annoyed i was going to throw it in but though ive done an hour im not going to leave lol

The track saturation went from 0 at start to close to 100 by lap 5, I think everyone was on full rain tires by then.
Pretty much the same thing happened to me, I really have no clue why it spun out, I was driving at a rate which 9 times out of 10 nothing happens at all, no warning, just started spinning, not even a chance at catching it, put me straight into the wall still on the GP section.

I do love the track, but between night blindness, and rain difficulties I'd like to see at least one of the two removed, particularly night. If I'm not mistaken, SuperGT doesn't run at night in the first place, but I wouldn't know for sure, the US doesn't show good races for (bleep).

DC'd on lap 10 because my mum turned the internet off, which was incredibly frustrating seeing as I was on course to finish 2nd.

Lap 1 was probably the most exciting, if not the most disastrous, part of the race for me. Me and CSL managed to get past Nep within the first half of the lap, and I was closing up on CSL. We got to Karoussel, and I managed to pass him around the outside of the corner, a move which was probably my best of the season. However my lead didn't last too long as I applied too much power into the corner and ran wide into a wall, gaining a bit of damage. I managed to keep 2nd, until CSL ran wide onto the grass on another corner. He started moving back towards the track just as I was coming around the same corner. In hindsight I should of slowed down, but I didn't expect him to come back on track right in front of me. Anyway that was engine damage for me, so I had to crawl back to the pits which cost me a lot of time. Somewhere along the line Paginas crashed into me, I was very jumpy and struggling to control the car with damage, so I'm sorry that he ended up being collateral damage. I pitted, changed to Inters, and basically drove as fast as I could around the track. And it worked for the most part. Somehow I was able to drive fast with hardly any mistakes and I managed to make the time back up on the leaders quite quickly. I think I pitted again for lap 3 for wets, and started catching up again to Nep and Lynchy. And on lap 4/5 I finally caught them just as they were coming out of the pits. I managed to pass Nep on his cold tyres, and then coming up to the hairpin on the GP circuit, we probably had what was the GT500 race-deciding moment. Lynchy went wide and into the gravel, and being the idiot I was and not concentrating, I didn't brake hard enough and went the same way. After that I just couldn't get back into my rhythm and fell back from the lead. I kept crashing every lap in the second half of the race and pitting every lap too. And then I got dc'd...

Personally I love racing in the rain, but after 5 laps and no relenting it just got tiresome, and the 100% surface water was just too slippery. I'd like to do the race next season tbh, even with weather and time change, we just need to make sure it isn't raining for the entire race.

well since i won im 4th now :D so we going to spa for round12 id love to give my MR-S a send off at spa to thank it for being such i great car to me :)

Edit: its been a great season and ive learned alot, to get my first win at Nords was great but i was leading it for so long and the weather took its toll on me physically and mentally so it was more a sence of relief that i held off Skanny in the last lap and a half. I still put Daytona Road as my best race of the season :D
