You should have had weather changeability set lower, to 50% or something.

I noticed when I tried out the new settings at the Ring in my lounge the other day, 100% changeability means it goes from no rain to full on rain in around a minute. Although there's no surface water straight away there is slightly less grip.

Can we get the tables updated before the Finals? Just so that it's officially posted. :)

EDIT: Also, what was I penalized for in Round 10?

didnt notice that Aderrrm, yeah now im curious you did nothing wrong in the first stint all us Top 4 battled it out..... and im also curious to find who did the best lap2 as that surely was all of our fastest laps.....

Atlas did the fastest lap, it was a 49 something and nearly 2 seconds faster than anyone else's fastest lap. He must have had some super slipstream going on. :D

i meant for nords aderrrm :sly: for gt300 im sure i dropped mh4wheel on lap2 but i need to know if skanny was faster but we were all really slow :( i think my best was like 9min something then after lap4 we all seemed to drop below 10mins

yea it was my slipstream I couldn't shake him at all for some reason lol

also I think it cud be an incident with Owens on daytonya if that's round 10

I just have three words: Crappiest race ever. Not the track or weather's fault. Its just that somehow the rain decided to make the car extra slippery today, and it was impossible to drive the car. Maybe it was GT5'
s physics flaw in there Oh and the race started on rain opposed to starting on dry. Mistake by the host. Just remove weather as it is nearly impossible t drive these cars on the rain. I was so looking forward for this race for nothing :ouch:

It was dry. You see that little meter? It was at 0%

The room was set to 0 for the setting that supposed to guarantee a dry track start. Raining at green flag doesn't mean wet track at start I guess.

Weather change was 5 or 50%

So yea Masi and us stewards should of been on testing these features to tell us what to use.

Either this crap gets tightened up and Masi focus on WSGTC or I am considering dropping out. This place is slipping and it's due solely to those running things not being actively involved.

Sorry I feel this way. But it's felt like we have lost our leader.

One suggestion make Denilson in charge of WSGTC and make it his baby. This guy is dedicated and really pulled together the WSGTC last season and this. However about mid season it was going strong. Then we started getting less involved. Then lost Wardez. Hmmm why was that? He jumped off a sinking ship IMO.

There is hope. this is a very solid series that would come back inline with proper activity by those in Charge. That means you gotta focus on WSGTC and nothing else admins.

While I rant. Masi. Please please please stop whoring the WSGTC title or whatever you changed it too. You seem yo have a plan. But us racers are suffering. To many series started and you seemed to neglect WSGTC in favor of new ventures.

Please know I support WSGTC and will put forth extra effort to help get us back to what we was a few weeks back. I take responsibility as well. Being a steward I should of spoke up instantly when I felt these feelings.

Also next season. No weeks off. Race every week. Dump Nurb 24h

Do two Spa and two Le Mans. One with out weather in day light. Shorter race. Then our Enduro's here with weather and time.

That is all I got for now.

Well said. Weird having an organizer that doesnt even race, but I have no problem on that matter. Just weird, thats all. The weather isnt the problem, the problem is the car for the weather. GT500s are nearly impossible to drive when you have a full wet track. I did a Honda Integra RM race at Le Mans on the rain and went well. GT5 isnt perfect on the physics, there are still flaws. Keep that in mind people.

You can keep the Nurb 24h but scrap weather, just put time change. We had 15 racers, ended with only 7, so Im pretty sure I wasnt the only one upset about the race. Masi has to race to understand what we, the racers, are feeling. Having your work just thrown away is hard to take. After my great qualy run I was looking forward for it, and all went down the drain. Add Spa as well, but NO weather. Last 2 races I had to quit, we are getting less entries, this is going downhill. Better improve this, or else we aint getting nowhere.

Was this on wet tyres? Only ever seen that happen when on slicks (or inters if the rain is really bad) pre-2.0 :embarrassed:

Yes I had rain tires. Fresh and everything. I couldnt put full throttle at all. :ouch:

by less entires you mean less people doing the races... as sign ups are closed ;) ill agree i could barely touch the throttle to but we all had the same problem and thats what kept me going... also the fact that i found it not too bad

Aderrrm and Mole had to go out Litichy missed qually Kami said he wasnt able to race as did Atlas, Rav and Twisted and masi has college at the time of the race or something? Mule dunno and the rest i dunno
Thats eight all with valid reasons.....

First of all, i came back to WSGTC around week 2-3 as i finally had free time. I saw that participation, specially in qualy, was halfway decent. So i went ahead and put out the graphics and tables for the OP along with sending out more than 100+ invites inside the forum (mainly premium members). Then we saw the full grids the following weeks.

In week 3 and 4, i raced. In la Sarthe, my bathroom caught fire around lap 2 - with my close friend receiving 3rd degree burns. No need to elaborate why i quit. At Nurburgring GP, the disconnect bug hit me halfway through the race.

Week 5 came along and i was given my schedule for the semester, which to my surprise, includes a friday session which lasts 9 hours - 7.00am to 4.30pm for just one class (runs until December). It requires familiarizing myself with at least 150 medical terms every week - certainly, i wouldn't put racing at noon in favor of my life's career.

Remember the 'News Articles'? I stopped doing it simply because i was too busy trying to understand these complicated words. Even then, i managed to race (wasnt able to qualy) for round 7 and round 8 - test week so i could leave early on friday. Mind you i was racing along the freeway just to make the green flag (Japan), still 15 minutes late though. Same with Round 8, which again, i got caught with DC bug following Wardez' internet woes.

Which brings me to Wardez... i felt really disappointed with him dropping out. I'm not sure of the full reason but my guess is that it was all in rage. He let his emotions get the best of him after a few weeks of sub-par races accumulating to its breaking point in Monaco. I didn't want to repeat and ask him numerous times to come back. I think we all did enough to persuade him not to.

And to Dennis, this man's great. I was struggling with real life commitments so i had to pass admin duties to him while i was gone. I can't say enough about what he has done to keep the series, specially in season 1, intact. I can't complain. He's a great asset to this series.

Neglect? I created WSGTC and will always be at the top of my list. As i explained above, i cannot commit with racing fridays (until december), so in-turn, i 'tried' to create another series on Mondays. I sent out invites as well, but to no avail. I guess people are too busy that day. So i created WRC, an online time trial series which requires no commitment to any timeslot. You can run any stages you feel like.

I guarantee you, if i could race in WSGTC, i will race every week, but i can't at the moment - that's why we have multiple admins to manage in some shape or form if one or the other is away.

I started the Discussion thread (Interest Section) and i've expressed all input there. Only a few even bother to post or comment. I've proposed to further homologize the GT300 grid because of the differential in performance of the cars. I asked for help to get some of the cars and i only got a handful of responses.

I'm doing all i can to make this series the best as it can be with the little time i have free.

And to my last point, about overall participation. Around 17-18 qualified for Nur-24 and 15 started. Last season, only 6 people raced. Certainly that's a massive improvement. Compare the whole of season 2 to season 1. Participation is up at least twice (as far as i can recall).

I don't see how this is a sinking ship - far from it. Just the thought of it (from a driver's perspective) being the last race and having no chance in the points i think is the main reason not to put max effort compared to early in the season. Also, the 'off weeks' don't help at all. I think i've voiced my concern over this the same week i came back. I thought the season was too long and it might lag the attention of participants.

@ Owens - You're a great example as to how someone should conduct themselves in terms of agreeing to that 'commitment' the moment you sign-up. You made all the races last season and just one early this season. Would be great to have you back.

By the way, it's not 100% yet but Fanatec and InsideSimRacing will be onboard with us as Primary Sponsors for Season 3.

Masi, I should made a point to compliment while I was complaining.

You have done a bunch for this series. You are the man when it comes to OP's and all. Ideas are fantastic.

I as well many others do appreciate your time and effort.

My post wasn't meant to bash. More so as a guy trying help steer the ship. ;)

With that. I have a load of respect for you. I think you have nothing but great intentions and an abundance of ambition.

Thanks Mr. Owens, likewise.

I think i got a little carried away with that response lol. I guess that makes it my review for the whole season.

:)

Have to say that the Admins have been great to this series, and really dedicated themselves to it. Yes there have been some shaky times and participation has dropped over time, but tbh, I don't see any way they could of stopped that from happening except for getting rid of all the rules and slapping Soft tyres on every car, which I'm sure we all do not want to see. What I think matters is that the core group of racers is fairly large, and from my point of view (correct me if I'm wrong), has increased from last season. And I'm willing to bet that there will be more by the end of next season. I can say that, despite all my whining and moaning that this car hates me (which it does, it flings me into barriers :nervous:), I have enjoyed the season as a whole and will definitely back next season, hopefully stronger and surely a more experienced racer. This also must indicate that the series is damn good, considering my first messages to Denilson about racing here was that I'd only want to be a reserve driver at best, and probably wouldn't be around much. Oh how that changed. Rather than going on and on though, I'll just say a big thank you to Denilson, Masi, Wardez (if he still looks in this thread :D) and all the stewards for making this is a great place to race and for putting up with me all season

Going to say another thank you to Masi again however for taking the time (I nagged him) to read about my series idea, and give me some pointers. Hopefully I can get all those cars tested soon and get it up and running! All I ask is he shows me how to make some of those graphics :D

And one more thing: I may be interested in doing those news reports next season. I have an A* in English Language so it be shouldn't too far from my abilities and I would like to add something to the series myself :)

Thumbs up on interviews Biffy!!!

Those were pretty cool feature. I enjoyed reading them.

Maybe it's time WSGTC does a web site. Sorry gtplanet, we seem to have grown out of threads we need more tools and a front page IMO.

I proposed a dedicated section for racers. The private groups just don't cut it.

I'd like to see a license type of deal done. Where we can set up tests to check people wanting to earn a license. Then you have points system like real license. To many incidents and you lose your license. No license no race. ;)

Masi has some ideas to rate drivers. This was really sound however a load of work.

@ Biff - You can take the helm with the News and Interviews Biffy 👍 ...actually, if anyone else want's to volunteer, we can have atleast 2 or 3 editors.

I'll stick with managing the Power Rankings though :)

@ Owens - I hope to have a dedicated site up by the start of Season 3 (Most likely January so i can race every week). We'll still be using GTP as our main forum though, for the reason that a big pool of hardcore GT drivers frequent here. Once we progress, we can slowly transfer everything there :)

We'll do the license/safety rating system for next season. It's basically another points system, so technically, it won't be a load of work if we can all lend a hand and contribute by compiling trivial datas after each race 👍

Masi, if you work with Jordan. He may be on board and willing to help utilizing his servers. More clicks more money. ;)

Well, I'm actually a pretty good writer. I tend to write quite a bit at times when I have the motivation. But I'm not really all that confrontational or inquisitive so I like to keep my posts to a minimum or just lurk entirely. I have done some GT5 related writing though, so I know the gist of things.

@ Owens - ill see what he'll say about it 👍

@ Ostdarva - can you publish a review for the Nur race? :)

Why don't we have Otsdarva try a review on the GT300 race and me try a review on the GT500 race, and then put it together at the end? Could be more accurate.

Can someone explain what is happening for the season finale? Everything is "TBC" in the OP. So is it this Friday? Another day? Which cars? NSXs were mentioned originally, is it still this? What's the spec of car? Which circuit? Are spectators allowed? How many laps? Standing start? Qualifying? Is it 1v1 in a knockout style? Who races who? How are penalties (if any) going to be applied if it's a knockout system? Etc.

/Questions :dopey:

Sorry if these are answered somewhere but I can only find very limited information on the season finale and would like to get some setup and practice sorted this week - I only race in GT300 cars generally so I'm very limited on my setup knowledge of higher power cars or anything outside of a GT300-style car. /Racingdriverexcuses.

I've been trying to ask Dennis since i wasnt here when the schedule was drafted, still no response though.

As far i can remember, its the top 4 from both classes?

Well, one can only hope he gets back to you soon enough.

Unrelated, I'm writing up my report on the GT300 atm. I hope to have it up before tonight.

Hello to all.
Looks like ye are on the last race of the season?
Just wondering when Season 3 is starting up?
And when is sign up open?

I was here before in season 1 if anybody remembers :P
