I really have to get some sleep guys, sorry. I had just 2 and a half hours of kip last night/this morning, before a long day at work. That race hasn't helped.

I'll go through and check the results at some point tomorrow after a league meeting I have.

Good racing though, wp to both Remy and Moleman for their victories.

I'll write something more relevant tomorrow.

Thanks! now go fix it! This the whole idea. To cut down on the talk and just dooo. :)

I suppose I should stop posting little snippets, and just post my pseudo-report here. XD

Well, for starters, I was not happy to be in D2. I was running 3rd at Tsukuba, with the pace of the faster guys, so I was stunned at my rather poor superlap time. Then again, La Sarthe is always annoying for me to make a set for. Nevertheless, I was 11th fastest out of 15 with a mediocre 3:00.3.

The only target now was to simply win the D2 race. I didn't realise that I could've been up against Tony, so that sorta diminished my hope a little. My hopes were further falling when I saw that Masi and KamyKaze were also in this race. Goes to show how competitive this class now is, which is a huge bonus.

Before I start, according to my replay, I did my first stint on a set of intermediates. I didn't mean to, I was practicing in wet conditions before the race started. Either way, it wore out the fronts like mad, and it was stupidly difficult.

Sloth was on pole, the guy who gave me the car to participate in this series, and the guy I knew I could overtake on the first lap. (Sorry man, but I pulled it off at Tsukuba too, so I had hope.) I didn't expect the start to go as well as it did though. Me and Kaze immediately got past, with Masi following soon after. For the next three laps, less than half a second separated us at all stages, it was that throughout every single corner and straight for around 25 miles. Pretty incredible stuff to be a part of. And it would be easy to assume that D2 would be lacking in the racecraft department. Yeah, I was horribly wrong there (with the exception of Lynchy, but never mind).

Soon after that, the GT500s caught up to us. When you're on the narrow section after Mulsanne, it got really scary REALLY quickly. I decided to try and take advantage of this, although I didn't have to do anything much in order to do so. I held my line, let them pass me on the straights, and it was no big deal really...until I overtook two of them myself, that was really, really weird. Whilst the GT300s were clean from my perspective, I assumed that the 500s wasn't like that. It took nearly half an hour before I was behind 6 of them, and even then, I managed to pass a few again thanks to incidents. I saw that Paginas had to make 5 pitstops. I'm assuming three of them were damage.

I'm not going to lie, after lap six, I just decided to try and force a one-stopper, hoping that KamyKaze was going to do a two-stopper. He did, so I felt rather confident from then on. The tyres quickly degraded, not to mention the fact they never warmed up either, and laptimes quickly fell with them.

Lap ten, and I pitted. Kamy had overtaken me for the time being, but I was on a lighter load, as carrying fresh tyres. I figured that I might as well try to catch and overtake him before he pitted, but I just simply couldn't pull that feat off, he had got miles in front. Lap 13, he pitted, and I was pretty sure that I had won it from there. That was until the rain came, and my underwear turned a more brown colour. I was expecting a torrent to fall, and for me to slide off and probably die. Little did I realise that it was simply a little sprinkle, a teaser, and I was pleased I decided to stay out on slicks. I was slightly gutted that RedReevos, who easily won the GT500 race, managed to lap me towards the end, but he was the only one, and I reckon I can be rather pleased with a Division win, and a 1:46.4 fastest laptime! :)

So yeah, off to the Nürburgring...ah balls, I hate that track. ¬_¬

Question about scoring: I understand that D2.1 scores the same points as D1.7 (32 pts) for the added effort of winning the division race. However, in todays race the first two finishers from D2 (D2.1 D2.2) were promoted to D1.6 and D1.7 after the race. D2.3 was promoted to D2.1 and scored extra points even though he didn't actually win the division. Is that intended? Seems unfair to the guy who finished D2.2 beating D2.3 on track and yet scoring the same points.

i wish my connection never gave up the ghost i was in the battle with skanny, mule and hortus but .... 0 points :(
i disconnected lap4 i believe not sure though

Wardez, i DC'ed on Lap 4 i believe.

nvm, i got it... sweeeet 2 points! :D

I think we should stick to the same single points system.

Posted and updated new Round specific thread for Round 4. Let me know if the weights are right.

Still need fastest laps from the races.

80kg is going to be super fun :D - Hurrrr. 30kg was quite noticeable actually, felt quite a bit slower down the straight, had to run a slightly lower gear ratio to compensate, 80kg is going to be bordering on boat-like! Here's hoping for no podium next race or I'm gonna be driving a cruise ship by mid-season :D

I like the ballast rules btw, adds another level of interest to the series, so don't think I'm complaining! Just getting ready for the understeer, haha :D

To my report;

Made a solid start and went straight into battle with mule, hortus and Paul for the first couple of laps. Made my only mistake of the race coming out of Porsche curves on lap 2, dropped a wheel onto the grass turning into the left hander and was heading straight for the outside wall. Managed to get it slowed down enough so that I only brushed the wall and got away without damage.

This dropped to last in gt300 and lost me the draft of the main pack but I was able to maintain a gap of around 5 seconds to them for the next handful of laps. We lost Paul on lap 3 to his connection which moved me up to 6th.

An incident up at the front on lap 7 split the pack up and saw aderrrm and atlas need to pit with damage, mole also pitted for the first of his planned 2 stops. I was now lying 3rd behind hortus and mule.

Slowly closed in on hortus as darkness fell towards the end of the first stint, finally taking the position from him on lap 11 just before we both made our only pitstops. Had a tough battle with hortus for a number of laps, just managing to keep him at arms length and out of my draft. Meanwhile aderrrm had caught and passed us both meaning I was running 4th.

Stretched the gap to hortus during the spell of light rain and resisted stopping to change tyres, not easy when someone is not far behind you and able to see what you do first!

Just had to keep it clean for the last few laps to take a solid 4th place when I then came across mule in the Porsche curves on lap 17 who was obviously having troubles. Took 3rd place from him and held on to the finish.

Picked up only my 2nd wsgtc podium so happy with that, especially after a difficult race at fuji and not being able to race at tsukuba, the team also took home good points with mole taking the win :) congrats mole!

Looking forward to the ring, a good track for me :)

Yeah I got hit from behind and damaged during the first turn. I ended up losing about 1 minute. I didn't get much GT300 interaction after that. Pretty miserable race.

Is the one of the most amazing threads I have ever seen. The OP's are awesome! Good Job!

Damn spanky. Coming from you that means a lot. It's a super collab. With Denilson, Masi, and I all doing our parts. I'm a big admirer of your threads too and secretly check out the drop 5 page just to see cool stuff :D

man, we're such forum nerds :D

OK.. After a few beers with some friends to calm down, I feel I'm ready to type an objective racereport.

Well, first coupla of laps I decided to take it easy and sit back. Did not want to get involved in fights that only slows you down, and if that's not enough, the risk of getting hit is also present. Me and Remy_K had a pretty good idea how we should help eachother in the race as teammates. So when I noticed that he and C-Falcon89 pulled a way a bit too much (Me and Remy_K's tactics involved that we should stay rather close to eachother), I had to try and catch up a bit to keep the distance to a managable level between us.

Unfortenutly, I got rearended comming in to the Mulsanne righthander with rear damage as a result. I believ this was around lap 3.. From here on, my race was screwed..

BUT! Remy_K also had to pit because of damage (I think so) so we did end up pretty close to eachother around lap 4. Ok, so now, Remy_K waited a few seconds for me to catch up to him and we started execute our plan. It went really well. We gained on the front runners pretty quickly. And by lap 10 or 11 (can't remember) we ran 2nd and 3rd and had a good pace. I was heading in front of Remy_K as we pushed out on lap 10 or 11 (as I said, can't remember exactly).. And for the first time this race I saw the podium.. It lasted for about 10 seconds.. Then I went on my throttle to early in the righthander leading out to the long straight.. And spun in to a wall, with damage as a result.. From here on, my race was really screwed... Only thing I could hope for was rain.. And it came around lap 14.. Perfect.. I decided not to pit, and hoped that the leaders should pit and throw some inters on.. No one but Wardez did, obviously.. Cause he was the one I cought up with during lap 16 to the end if I recall. We had some mindgames during the last lap. And my goal was to lead the way in to porsche.. Cause from there, I could hold him behind me.

But what I did not count on was that we should catch up a lonely GT300 just as we left indianapolis. Wardez got slipstream, which made me to not catch up as I had planned. And when we reach the Porsches, we was up the GT300's arse.. But we kept it cool. Slowed down not to cause an accident. Really great stuff Wardez. 👍

Well, so my shot at 5th dissapeared when I could not overtake Wardez before the Porsches..

I'm really dissapointed with the race from my end. If I had not spun on lap 11, when me and Remy_K did so well, I guess I should've won. Honestly. Wa had such a good pace at that time.. But I got greedy with catching up to C-Falcon89.. Big mistake.

Well, I really hope that we will have as many qualifiers next week as well.

GTP_w-g-e: Who did not let you rejoin? I did'nt know you had issues at all.
I don't understand what you're talking about at all.

To all: I do not want aggressive language, accusations, bad manner in this thread. If you got issues with someone, use the PM function. If you got something to report, contact the other part and add a steward that was present in the room, but not involved to the recieverslist as well. Leave emotions out of it, and stick to facts. 👍

I think we should stick to the same single points system.

Wait, I'm confused. I'm just using your system that you told me was the one on the op. Are we switching again?

@Shrug. You're completely right.

So it's either we stick with this current system and not move people up in points finish positions after races. Or we use the split poitns system we currently have on the op for multi-class and not move people up. For instance, if someone at the back of D.1 doesn't finish then simply no one gets those points.

btw Masi, you corrupted the formulas on the results dump again so I had to restore a previous version of the sheets. That's why I was trying to get both you and Denilson into the Google Doc chat so I could teach you both how to use it.

It's simple, never edit anything black, only edit the places on the sheets where there's a white background. All you have to edit in is the names and the sheet does the rest. Only time you have to edit points is in the individual round pages. So in round 3, all you had to do to give yourself those 3 finishing points was add it into the Race Finish column D and also in column C since you didn't finish the race. All others that have finished the race get their onus totals from column D added automatically.

After you do that it also shows up in the totals page automatically.

ALSO
I sprinkled this awesome little flag ribbon sphere among the posts. Just 'cause I'm cool like that. It's a celebration sitches!

Ahhh, nothing like finally baking the cake then putting a little cherry on top.

Pointsystem.
Same Class: 55, 49, 43, 37, 32, 27, 22, 18, 14, 10, 7, 4, 2, 1
Mixed Class: 55, 49, 43, 37, 32, 27, 22 // 22, 18, 14, 10, 7, 4, 2

As soon as a driver dc's prior 85% completion, all drivers move up the pointscale accordingly.
Yes, it gets a bit strange that if you win D2, and someone in D1 got a pre 85% completion DC, you'll get the same ponts. But on the other hand, D2 winner always get bonuspoints in a mixed class race due to the pointsystem. So it looks kind of strange, but it's infact not. Yes, it can be "unfair" (As some like to put it) that D2.2 earns as much points as D2.1 if they both move up one step on the pointscale due to a pre 85% DC in D1... Sure.. But if that's the case, it's "unfair" that D2.1 earns as much as D1.7. It's exactly the same thing.

So we DO move up drivers accordingly. And we DO use the pointsystem that's in the OP (the exact same one as I posted a few rows up. 👍

Also: I've recieved complaints from moderators that we can not use ":::::" or "--==" in our titles. It was removed for the third time, and the moderators sent me a message that we should not use any non-alphabetic asterix's in our thread titles. So do not put them back when removed. It's not me who removes them, it's the moderators.

As I said, copy and paste this post: (ONLY Masi_23 and Wardez)

Can you then check to make sure the results are correct as I have them now in the results dumps?

Sorry about the ::::'s. Didn't know 👍
