Great race for me. Me, Atlas and Mole were having a good battle up to lap 6. Sadly I ran wide at one corner and I knew that I would have to straighten my wheel up so that it doesn't spin round but the car just flew round and had I no chance of catching it. It was all over in an instant really, lol. I collected Atlas which I am very sorry for, as it half ruined my race but ruined his much more. Sorry about that dude. 👍 I struggled back to the pits with engine damage and left rear damage going really slow, and then I crashed again at the second part of the porsche curves, hitting the wall and received rear right damage. Again, aplogies to the whole field that tried to overtake my very damaged car on the way to the pits.
At the start of the race, I was thinking of running a 2 stop so I could have broken the toe from anyone still behind me at lap 6 and that way I would have been set up if it had rained too. I ended up pitting on lap 5 anyway because of damage, but I was a long way behind Mole. I pushed quite hard (although it's easier said than done when it's pitch black!) for about 4 laps catching up the other GT300s and making a bunch of mistakes a long the way. When I went on to lap 11 I figured the only chance I have of winning is to not pit again, meaning finishing the race on a 14 lap old set of tyres. And if I come 2nd, well I might have only come 2nd if I did pit. On the corner I decided to switch to a 1 stop, I put a wheel on the grass on the same corner as on lap 5, and it was a few hairy seconds before I re-gained control (it didn't do anything for my tyres, either).
So Mole caught me up at lap 12 I think and this is where I tried to get in front of him at every corner, particularly the first sector and the porsche curves section because this is where he had the tyres to break the toe. He nearly did at one point, but he ran wide twice meaning he had to slow back down for me (although I think I still was in his toe anyway

). When Remy crossed the line, me and Mole were only about 40 seconds into our last lap. So I figured the timer would run out just before Porsche curves. And it did!

Mole played it tactical, and kept behind me until he overtook me just before the tight right hander where he overtook me with about 5 seconds to go. I play a bit of tactical gameplay, but I hate the slipstream that much in this game that most of the time I battle all the way up to the flag, not caring who is in the lead at the final corner.
Great race though everyone. It was definitely a different experience being dead last and having to work through the field, having no idea what position I would finish the race in.
By the way, The GT500's couldn't have waited a whole 2 minutes. And if they did, they must have gone well above 55 mph. When I had damage at lap 5, all gt500s overtook me on lap 5 between the Porsche curves and the pitlane. That means if you did wait 2 minutes, you would have took 20+ seconds out of the gt300s per lap which definitely isn't possible at race pace.
Remember, for the first 20 seconds or so the gt300s are sorting themselves out from the grid and so you need to wait more than 2 minutes as displayed on the race time in the top right. Really, you should wait 2 minutes from when we are sorted out. Although I still don't think 2 minutes is long enough. Even if you waited 4 minutes, most of you would have overtaken us. I'll keep an eye on how long you decide for the next race.
Also wge, it's a bit different creating a new room for someone when there's 20 minutes until green flag, and creating a new room when everyone is on the grid.
That aside, I think once the room is created from now on and as long as there is not a problem with the room itself, we should not create a new room. As wge experienced, creating a new room sometimes only creates new problems for people who were having no trouble before and most of the time doesn't solve the problems for the person having problems trying to get in (as I experienced). I know what caused my problem now anyway, so it shouldn't happen again. 👍
