Season 2 Starts tonight for you dudes with NBC, sounds like it'll be a good one, even though Im still on episode 11, of course I could watch the rest on the internet but I don't want to, I love the wait till the next great episode of Heroes!:D

cheers

Tommi:D

Sorry double post, but I thought posting again was more suitable to the content in it.

I strongly agree, she is also a superb actress and singer too!👍
She sings?

Anyway, my DVR/PC is set up to record and I will be watching, using commercial breaks to check the football score. And it looks like I will be watching Chuck beforehand as well.

^Just be careful not to read any spoilers in this thread.

Thanks, Im always careful when I read this thread.

She sings?

Oh yeah, she has a beautiful voice:tup:, her album comes out in 2008 and ill be buying it!:D:

They're not the proper music videos by the way.

There are some other songs as well but I haven't found them all yet:D

Hmm, I believe that she may be doomed to the same musical career as Jennifer Love Hewitt. Another case of a star wanting to do singing as well and entering the already over populated bubblegum pop market.

I'll pass.

Season 2 Spoiler from here

OK, so who else thought that this was the most lackluster, overhyped season premiere ever? They introduced new characters and told us nothing about them and then ignored half the others. The ones they do show they give no explanation for. How about explaining how Nathan and Peter are still alive? Better yet, why is Peter chained up in a shipping crate with no one to grab him except a couple of lost crooks? And why are they taking more than one episode to show us that Hiro is the actual Takezo Kensei? Because right now the guy actualy caling himself Kensei is obviously not eth hero of legend.

Honestly, I liked Chuck better and if this show doesn't pick up just a bit I may lose interest. In case NBC forgot, Football is on and a boring Heroes episode may find me switching over.

Yeah, this episode was a bit dull and lackluster, but I figured that would happen. Prepare for a 'soapoperish' season.

I'll keep watching, though. I'd like to see what happens.

Really, I just want Ali Larter back. She was so nice to have that I was willing to ignore that her power was just a split personality and that her son was way to mature for his young age.

Saw episodes 11 & 12 (season 1)last night and they were amazing:tup:, I can't wait for next week:D

You have to wait till next week?

I wasnt impressed with the start of season 2. It would seem Hiro has changed things around a bit without forethought. Which might explain Pete's lack of memory, but im still curious as to where the scar will come from.... you know, the one Hiro mentioned in the subway train?

Im liking Foolkiller's theory on who Takezo Kensei is though.

Dont know where you got it from, but it seems to fit, or maybe im just a :dunce:

Peter's lack of memory could just be that he exploded, and lived. As or the scar: The future has been changed. Nothing Future Hiro told us or any of what we saw in the future episode happens now. Nathan stopped it. Now we have a virus that is attacking the metahumans (can we stop stealing stories from X-Men please?). Despite this supposedly being what killed Mohiner's sister it did not play a role in the future in season 1. This could be happening because someone that was the next patient died in the explosion and is now alive or Hiro is in the past encountering old strains of viruses that modern people haven't seen in centuries or taking a newer strain of virus back in time to give it centuries to adapt to metahuman genes.

Just remember, anything we knew about the future, such as a scar, no longer happens like it did before, if at all. And now that Hiro is in the past small, apparently normal things can be happening that weren't before.

Im liking Foolkiller's theory on who Takezo Kensei is though.

Dont know where you got it from, but it seems to fit, or maybe im just a :dunce:
I'm just connecting clues. Hiro has had this whole hero worship for Takezo Kensei Hiro can also time travel and legends tell of Kensei's amazing abilities, almost superhuman abilities. Hiro now is back in time and meets Kensei, who is a bloody drunken Brit that never fights. He pays other men to take death blows and then picks off the troops with a crossbow while camping in a tree. When he is finished he takes his own money back from the corpse. Any survivors tell a legend about how Kensei is in more than one place at a time (HUGE RAGING CLUE). Now Hiro can appear to be in more than one place at a time. Hiro respects the people of this era, and Hiro understands the importance of the sword, which we saw Kensei just give up. We have seen Kensei say, "I am called Kensei." He did not say Takezo Kensei.

I can almost bet that Hiro will see someone about to die and intervene. Then the chick that Kensei is supposed to marry will offer Hiro the sword and ask him to help. Hiro will step up and do so. Another possibility is the real Kensei dies, passes out, something, and Hiro dons the uniform to save his country.

If you go here:
http://heroeswiki.com/Takezo_Kensei

There you see where Hiro mentions the legend of Kensei and the Dragon. Isaac painted a painting of Hiro facing a dragon with the sword of Kensei. (coonection)The legend says that Kensei learned his sword mastery from the dragon. Hiro will not have to fight the dragon.

In the end the dragon comes to claim his payemen of Kensei's love and Kensei sacrifices himself by cutting out his heart saying all his love is in there. In one Episode Hiro ios training with his father and says, "I understand, Father. To save what is most important, I must be strong enough, to cut out my heart." (Connection)

The dragon takes mercy and replaces the heart and breathes life back into Kensei. I'm guessing the dragon is another hero. Possibly the man currently calling himself Kensei? The previews show Hiro asking him if he has a power. Then after Kensei is revived he disappears, forever. (connection) How many people has Hiro met in his past travels and then disappeared from forever?

The legend also tells of how when Kensei gains the sword he says that it focuses his powers. Hiro is able to focus his powers when he has the sword. He also has no problem telling people about this. (connection)

The legend also tells of how Kensei had to defeat Whitebeard and a whole host of crazy named minions. Crazy names of legends, the kind that you would also find comic book villains using. I am guessing that those with powers came together to try and rule and Hiro/Kensei will have to stop them to save Japan, and the future.

One last thing:

Exactly my thoughts when this was mentioned. I kind of did one of these...
Maybe this should have been a mini series instead of network program. I haven't read this entire thread but is it true that season 2 is 30 episodes?

Stan Lee is a producer on the show, so we shouldn't be too surprised.

I think the goal is to make this like a comic book on TV, where it is a lot of soap opera style stuff surrounding people with superhuman abilities. It works well as I remember quite a few comic issues where I felt like it was a break from action to humanize the characters. The problem with Heroes is that they are trying to cover all heroes and not just a small group or team. So, think of it like the entire Marvel universe in one show. Instead of just watching the X-Men we are also getting the Fantastic Four, The Avengers, X-Factor, Teen Titans, and every individual character in one story.

I understand why they did this. In comics it is easy to suspend reality and pretend this small group lives in this tiny world, but on TV you are emulating reality and so to ignore that there are others across the planet would create issues. This may have worked better, or may work better down the line, if you get spin offs that can interact and don't ignore each other but only focus on one group (Think Law & Order and CSI). Right now we have the company and the group that Hiro's father was in working on a global scale and so the story necessitates a global view.

I haven't read this entire thread but is it true that season 2 is 30 episodes?
Yes, the usual 24 regular episodes plus six "Origins" episodes over the Christmas holiday. It is a double use plan. First, it prevents fans from losing interest during the holiday break. Second, it tries to combat Monday Night Football during a time when the games are getting important and NBC would lose ratings. In the NFL the last two games on a team's schedule are based on performance from the previous year, creating good, high interest games just before the playoffs. So, instead of trying to decide whether I want to watch a Christmas special I have seen ten times vs. an important football game I will have to choose between Heroes special episodes and football. That is a much harder decision considering I have Rudolph, Frosty, and a dozen other Christmas specials on DVD. Whatever choice I make I risk having the outcome of the other ruined before I can watch my recording.

Another possible third outcome will be that NBC can charge higher advertising rates for episodes of known to be succesful Heroes than half watched Christmas specials or reruns.

I thought Monday's episode was just okay. I was even more dissappointed when they did the preview the year. I should have expected this though last season started off very slow. Hopefully it picks as the season goes on. Also I konw Stan Lee is involved but how many Xmen storyline are they going to borrow? What's next Nimrod appears or Mr Sinister works for the company?

kjb

The guy has created hundreds of storylines in comics. I am sure he is low on ideas after 50 some odd years.

And I thought Linderman was playing the role of Sinister with how he was trying to affect the bloodlines and political motives behind the scenes. It was definitely very Sinister-like, only less straight forward and more behind the scenes.

I should have worn the :dunce: cap

I had no idea i was in the presence of such wisdom and insight.

I will refrain from commenting and watch this thread with great fervour in future, unless i think you've missed something Foolkiller.

You provide more excitement and anticipation about the series than my friend who introduced it to me, and thats saying something.
Keep it up

BOOYAH! Scary ain't it?

Slight revision to my predictions after last night's episode. The real Kensei can heal. Perhaps he is the one who cuts out his own heart We have seen that Claire can regrow entire body parts and to date only a head wound has been able to kill her, which is merely temporary.

That aside, I am still sticking that the warrior Kensei is Hiro, while the Brit plays the face of Kensei.

And I am glad to see that Peter is finally learning to actually use his powers instead of holding back. He is now truly becoming a hero, even if he is getting sucked into a criminal scheme.

Speaking about Peter, isn't holding his 'history box' as ransom pretty weak? I mean honesty, you saw what he did to those other guys. It just seems that he would know after his last little fight, that he can kick some serious rear and retain his box unharmed. I understand he doesn't know the full extent of his powers, but he does know enough to put a serious smack down.

I agree, but I think that it is an attempt to show that he is reluctant to use his abilities when he doesn't need to. He would rather commit some crime than hurt people.

Saw episode 13 (season 1) last night, this show gets better and better every week:tup:, I will definetly be getting the DVD'S:D

Does Claire feel no pain? So she can regenerate body parts and heal wounds, but burning your hand in boiled water and cutting your pinky off should hurt like hell yet it didn't seem like she was feeling any pain at all. More like "eww" faces.

No one really feels pain from what I have seen. Unless they are about to die. Then they lay there grunting and moaning, until something interesting happens around them. That's when they forget their pain and watch.

I've stayed away from this thread for a year.. booyah for me!

Oh well, have to start sometime...

I think with the incredible number of times Claire has actually killed herself, she's nearly inured to pain.

In fact, there's something there this season that you saw a little of in the first season, but weren't really sure about... now it's a sure thing...

Claire is a masochist. She enjoys the pain.

As for how much these things hurt... trust me... the first thing that goes when you suffer a major traumatic wound is your pain receptors in that area... they just go into shock... so, it'll hurt at first, but once you've cut off your pinky... oh well... que sera sera...

Note the arrows... when an arrow goes into you, it doesn't really hurt all that much (despite what all those screaming extras in the movies say)... it's pulling it out that hurts like a mother-****er.

What I'd like to see, though, is Claire feeling enormous pain as things grow back... especially since said pain receptors should fire like crazy as they're regenerating.

----

RE: Peter and the "memory box"... Peter, despite his memory loss, is still Peter... he's still a mushy softy. He's not going to hurt people over petty things. Note that he did save the girl's life, despite her brother having had him beat to a pulp, and he did wait for said brother to come back, and didn't beat him to a pulp.

Only inconsistency is: he's super-strong, fer chris'sakes... and they tied him up with hemp rope... c'mon...

----

I'm also enjoying the development of Matt Parkman. He's always been a character of dubious ethics (wants to do the right thing, not afraid of doing minor dishonest things)... and he continues to be so, this season. Parkman may be a "chump", to some, but he's an interesting "Hero"... very human, very believable.

This was a good episode overall but they gotta stop the hiro in old japan thing. Doesn't appeal to me.

Anyone else think Peter is too powerful. He has all the powers including sylars old power. It's as if hes indestructable.

AND IM SOO ENVIOUS OF WEST. GOT TO KISS HAYDEN:grumpy:

But it is important to who Hiro is. It is his character. He cannot become the true hero he wishes without doing this. His destiny is tied to Kensei's destiny.

Well, he does absorb abilities. What did you think he would do?

Now, what I am tired of is the Jason Bourne, er I mean Peter Petrelli in Ireland storyline. He has no memory but has all these abilities and is afraid to find out who he was. It was the worst writing ever that he doesn't open his box because he doesn't want to discover he might have been a killer. It was a cheap tactic to start a bad plot. Now we will spend this entire friggin' season pondering the box. "WHAT'S IN THE BOX? NOTHING? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! YOU SO STUPID!!!"

Obviously the gang leader opened it because he knew Peter's name. So, it apparently isn't all a big deal. If it revealed Peter to be some horrible person would the gang leader let him hang out with his sister? I'm guessing no.

Now, to Sylar. My theory is that Sylar is still in the illusion. His powers don't work because he is in the illusion. The girl was using her cell phone before he woke up, but when he steps outside he is in the middle of nowhere. Plus, the chick knows what he can do and would not be so relaxed around him if she didn't have full control.

Is anyone else already tired of the two Hispanic kids? Thousands of peopel a day get into the US without a problem and yet these two can't even get from town to town.

Well, they're coming from deep south, they have a price on their heads, and every time they split up, people die... I'd say that's a valid handicap.

I mean, they could have done it in just one episode if one of them was in a wheelchair...

i've been watching 'LOST' the past few weeks and finally finished with season 3. cant wait for S4 :D

anyways, i started to watch the first 2 episodes of Heroes and what i've seen so far it didnt really convince me:S

I skipped to the last few and got into it.
to me, season one was a waste of time.
Just watch the first few, make sure you know who the bad guy is, make sure you know what the company is, then watch the last three.

(dux foolkiller's advance)
:mischievous:👍

You have a good point there. You skip out on the relatively boring learning their powers stuff and can probably have the whole story summed up in that little bit.

If they focused on a smaller set of characters that would help. Honestly all I care about is Hiro, the Petrelli Brothers, and sometimes Claire. I feel like everyone else is just side stories that bore the bejeezus out of me. The show does just enough to keep me interested, but not enough to have me latching on to every detail the way Lost does. In Lost if I miss an episode I feel like I miss a lot, in Heroes I can miss quite a few episodes and keep up.

They need to give us more in each episode in order to make then don't miss.
